I actually never knew what the connection was re: stomach problems and being fat, though I did know that I was fat around the ages of 12-14 and always was bloated/had gas, then I lost weight and the uncomfortable sensations went away, only to return once I started approaching my highest weight. Now that I'm thinner, I get them sometimes, but they are nowhere near as frequent or severe.
