Default similar symptoms

I have been feeling lousy for the past week now off and on with nausea, hot face flushes only, seemed to have gained a few pounds around the mid section, which makes me feel worse stress, weird feeling in my head, not dizzy, or fuzzy, just like I can't seem to focus or feel, not sure how to explain, just not right, crying on a dime for no reason or the slightest upset, cranky, snappy, and a few panic/anxiety attacks at night......... Went to dr on Wed and told him all, plus started crying for no reason in his office. He says my body is screaming for some sort of hormone pill, according to him. I thought my thyroid was off, but he is pretty confident that it is this...waitng for blood work in a week to see, but he did give me some patches(although they are expired by over a year!!) from his office and they helped a wee bit, but not much. I will be 44 this year and he says that I would be perimenopausal.......ugh, any thoughts or such?

I am no doctor, but it sounds more like perimenopause than thyroid to me. When my thyroid is out of whack, I get tired, and fog like. It is the sex hormones that cause the hot flashes, crying, etc. I started with some symptoms in my mid 40's...so the timing is not unusual for you. I hope you can get it all worked out and feel better soon. I never took any prescription hormones for menopause...too afraid of them and what they might do. (my sister had breast cancer which her doctor said was probably from taking Premarin) I found black cohash and Evening Primrose Oil were helpful.

I think i tried epo and gave me a hot face flash, but may try again. thanks for the info

When my thyroid med needs adjusted I have some of those symptoms too...not focusing as well, and crying on a dime for no reason or the slightest upset, cranky, snappy... my good friend is often aware of this before I am...and will ask me if it's time to have my blood work done... my meds get adjusted every year or so...up then back down... as my weight has changed that seems to affect what I need to take as well (I'm on Synthroid- 150ug right now...) my doc checks it every 3-4 months when he's checking my HgbA1C and cholesterol etc....

My blood sugar is basically normal (at least was, last time it was checked) but I have PCOS, so my insulin situation definitely isn't right. Anyway, I've been IR dieting for three days and I've noticed my face is much less flushed than normal (I'm always red!) and that I feel far less groggy. Perhaps yours is a blood sugar issue?
