  • That is too funny about your names-when Brad re-married before his wife's name was already Smith so she didn't have to go and change everything like I did,
Went to DQ with Mike and his family. Told them I was np longer attending my church and would only go to church with Brad. Got unexpected encouragment from DIL-said that Brad's church knew how to follow Jesus and Mike said-are you going to be dunked-I said yes-and he said he will be there. I said that's why we will have it at the Sunday night service so they can come. The ball is rolling,
Had a nice visit with my former neighbors, I have known them 35 years!!!
My Godchild and her friends were in that 25 mile backup traveling to Liberty University. For 6 hours, Then they skidded off the road and got a flat tire. Someone almost hit the young man in the road but it turnes out to be a sheriff who called her husband to change the tire. They finally got there at 3 in the morning, Yikes.
    Yeah about your house, tammy.

Supposed to go to the parade-it is freezing here. I bought a hat to wear under my hood. Bye for now-Mima
  • Hi I am a newbie to this thread. I was diagnosed last fall but the symptoms have been around a lot longer.

I went to a parade last night. It was chilly and today I am in a flare.
  • Hey There
I have been having a boring week. My life is taken up house training Christie.. Only one accident this week. I really wonder if it was a accident or she was just trying to get attention.
It has been really cool here.. Supposed to get cooler again tomorrow. I don't mind so much until I have to take the dog out at 10 pm and 6 am.Then I go back to bed for a couple hours. I don't like getting up with the birds.Or before they do.
Tammy- I really have not found a church I am happy with. It may just be me. I didn't go to church for many years. Now I am trying.
Mima- I guess it makes it easier when you go to the same church your hubby goes to or the other way around. My hubby won't go at all. He keeps saying he will go to the Greek church but he hasn't in over 30 years and I don't think he will at all. I tell him he would be happy alone in a cave.
Mema- How are you doing with your house training your puppy?Your weight? Mine is sad. I just seem to lose the will right now.
    Hello Happy...
Welcome Cookie. I went to your blog. Yes hubbies will throw a few irons in our weight plans.. Mine does it all the time. Icecream and chips are the worst.Right now I am 1 pound over goal.. It took me forever to reach goal. I struggle every day..Takes all the fun out of life.
    Have a good weekend everybody...Joanne
  • Good morning and hi Dennise. We went to the parade and it was in the 50's but I sure had a lot of clothes on. Evan really liked it-wasn't afraid of anything.I sure had a good walk-felt great.
It's raining again. But we will be in church-glad I got that new raincoat. And the pollen gets rained on.
Y'all need to come to church ith us-I walk in dancing at 8 am-not that they dance-just that it is such great music. Brad and I both love good music.
    Bye for now Mima
  • Mima ... you would really like our church. We have good music. Our new pastor's wife has taken over our music. We have two praise teams now. I only have to do that every other Sunday now. The other one is made up of younger people ... in their 20s and a band with drums and guitars along with the grand and electric piano. I can see how we are growing, too. I'm having a little trouble getting nursery and beginner workers for SS and church times because everybody wants to be in service. We didn't have either service today ... snowed us out. Our road is a pretty well traveled road and it was a solid sheet of ice until about 1 or 2 P.M. But ... friends called and wanted us to go to breakfast with them & of course hubby wanted to go so we did. I said this is too sad. We can all go out to breakfast but can't go to church. They all just laughed and said, well ... all the churches closed. And most of them did. Wimps! Oh well, at least we had prayer before we ate!

Ginger's potty training is coming along. She still messes up sometimes but I expect that. She was just 2 mos. old Feb. 10th & I've only had her for 3 weeks. I think she's doing really good for being that little & only being 3 weeks into training. She goes on her training paper about 80% of the time and wakes me up every morning wanting out of her box to go. As soon as I set her out she does both on her paper. We've been letting her come out in the house a lot more and she hasn't gone out in the house but once in the kitchen all week long. We had her on the carpet every night this week for quite a while and she didn't slip up once. I'd take her back in the bathroom after a while and tell her to pee-pee on her paper and she would so I'd let her come back in the livingroom. She has only gone back in the bathroom and gone by her self once, though. That's my ultimate goal, to get her to where she will go back and potty by herself when she needs to. I'd like to eventually get her going outside (I think). But then, I have the golden out there, too ... and she's soooo little. I'd have to go out with her every time. I don't know what I'll do about her going on trips if I don't 'outside' break her, though. Something to think about. I'll tell you one thing ... she is certainly no Nikka! THANK GOODNESS!!! She has the sweetest little personality. Hubby is not the type to get attached to dogs ... but I can see he already likes this one. He actually got down in the floor and was playing with her the other night. She loves him to death ... she was crawling all over him and was even pulling his hair. I laughed at them 'till I nearly cried. She's so small and he's so big.

Hi Cookie ... wet and cold weather does me in as well. It's been both here (in middle TN). I see you are from LA ... you have been having your share of bad weather, too. We're supposed to have a warmer week this week but some rain and even some thunder storms by the end of the week. I don't like it when it gets hot but I'm looking forward to spring and summer. My best friend owns a propane Co. and he keeps telling me to pray that it stays cold. He just told me that this morning and I told him to go soak his head ... I'm praying for spring! He can sell small tanks ... maybe people will start grilling!!!

Tammy, hope your house sells! Anne ... don't want my g-kids at all right now. They all have either a stomach virus or strep. Poor babies! I feel for them but Meme doesn't want them to share!!!
  • Good morning! I know I would like your church,Meme. At hoem, the service is piped in the nursery so you can hear it while you are babysitting, Here it is live on the Internet. www.Mcgregorbaptist.org You will be able to see me baptized -thinking march 4 at the evening service so my son can be there. Told friends yesterday that I was coming out of the closet but brad, who is so happy, had already told them. Oh well, I need their support.
Mcgregor is building a 75 million dollar building with theater seats and the ability to have the service in lots of languages via technology. So everyone in the family can go to church together-even if the grandparents do not speak English. There are so many Spanish people in Ft Myers but that's not the only language that it will be capable of translating. Like the UN when they speak. Lots of prayer yesterday for it to be the will of God. 49 years ago, 100 members voted to buy swamp land on a dirt road -19 acres. and now the church has 6,000 members. And it's on an 8 lane road.
Lots of catching up today. And it's so cold. For FL.
    You ladies are dog-training experts.
    Mima
  • Mima, it's nice you've made a decision about the church. I also enjoy good music.

Welcome to Dennise!! Glad to have you, but sorry you have it too!

Meme, nice to hear that your church is growing like it is. I was smiling when I was reading about Ginger. She sounds so sweet! We're having a heatwave here today!! It's 44 degrees!!

Joanne, I'm with your hubby on the ice cream and chips!! Yummy!!
  • Good morning-it's finally going to be warmer today-then we will be complaining it's too hot.
I have been so tired lately. I have to get a blood test drawn fo my doc back home. No big deal-just go to Quest, And also pick up my notecards and prints at Art class.
Suzanne and her friend are going to be in a Scrabble fundraiser in April to raise money for Literacy. Sounds like fun.
We tried to watch World Trade Center last night but couldn't-too gory.
    Enjoy the warmer weather, Mima
  • Hey There
Mima- I haven't had any desire to watch any of the movies made about 9/11. I like this weather. Not cold ,not hot..It is warmer where you are.
Tammy- The bad thing about chips and icecream ,I want to eat it too. That does not help my weight.A wakeup is lying down on the bed to zip my jeans...Then I said oh well they will stretch! Well they didn't stretch enought. I had to put on knit pants after noon...
Meme- I haven't used the paper pads. I want her to think outside. So far it has been me doing the thinking.
Hello Happy- Hope you are having a healthy week..
    Joanne
  • Mima, the fundraiser for literacy sounds like fun. I've never seen World Trade Center.

Joanne, I ate some ice cream earlier tonight, but I made it healthy by putting part of a banana on it. I have answers for everything, don't I? lol
  • Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I am in a real bad fibro flare up. I have spent a lot of time in bed lately. I did get up and get a shower and left the house for a bit today. I feel a little bit better. I hate these flares.
  • Our church isn't quite as big as yours, Mima! When we get to 150 adults regularly, we plan to knock out one of the walls in the aditorium and expand ... we're almost there. The building was originally built to take out the end wall and expand ... which would turn the whole worship area around with the doors in the back instead of the side. We are working right now on finishing the upstairs for a youth fellowship center. It will have a kitchen, two bathrooms and also 2 classrooms. The big room in the center will be given over to the youth as a place to just hang out. We're hoping they will use it even after school with adult supervision. We had a Valentine's Party last Wed. night and I told them we will be having to expand the fellowship center soon ... it was full. Some of the kids had to take plates into the classrooms. I think it's awsome to be part of a growing church instead of a 'going' church ... as so many are now days. Or a church that is just content to sit still because the preacher or one family thinks they are the only ones who can do anything (like the one I left).

It is storming here. Thundering right now. I need to hurry and get off here and shut down my computer. We're supposed to have lightening, too. I've been hurting super bad all day. Sorry you're in a fibro flare Chris ... I think we all get that way this time of year. I know I do ... from now until summer!

Tammy ... love the banana ... I do that sometimes, too. With lots of choc. syrup. They are saying now that a little choc. is good for you. So, I only have it once or twice a week. I figure if a little every day is good for you, I'll save it up and have a lot once or twice a week ... same difference, right?

I can't watch those movies. I don't mind so much if they are fictious but suff that actually happened bothers me. Give me a good ole murder mystery.

I took Ginger to get her shots yesterday. Spoke too soon about the potty training. She slipped up 3 times last night and twice today. I think being in a strange place and getting her shots upset her. Hopefully, she'll get straightened back out. She's still plenty young.

Man, it's pouring out ... almost sounds like hail and the wind is really blowing. Better get off here. Have a good Wed. all.
  • That movie is a true story=we also cancellled United 93? about the plane that crashed in PA. Want to see Amazing Grace about John Newton=opens this weekend. Even the church back home is growing although some of the people do not have the vision like here. But the South is very evangelical.
I got a blood test yesterday and she put the tournaquet on my arm and I had to have it taken off because of the fibro-she got the blood anyways.
feel like I am getting a urinary infection but I have the antibiotic on hand,
I was going nuts yesterday trying to get pictures sent to Walmart via computer-finally downloaded their program-it takes a week-???need them for our mission applications.
Having withdrawal symptoms from not going to old church-today I would have gotten ashes. This too shall pass.I have always resisted change but it has always turned out for the best.
    Bye for now. Mima
  • Good morning ladies.

Meme - glad your church is growing. That is always exciting. So the little gal decided she wasn't trained after all She probably was just upset from being to the vet. She surely is a cutie. Bananas and ice cream with carmel sauce is my choice. I really am not a chocolate lover. I like it once in awhile only, and then it is the good kind - 85% cocao (that's the one that is good for you. Actually anything from 70% is good.

Mima - hope you are not having yet another urinary infection, but glad you are at least prepared with antibiotics.

Chris - it sure is "flare" time. Spring is the worst time of all as the weather is so up and down. I was that was 2 weeks ago, when it all of a sudden warmed up and that allowed humidity. In the winter here, when it is cold, it is usally very dry and I feel wonderful as far as my OA pain goes. The FM seems better as well, but it has it's days. I hope you feel better soon.

Joanne - It seems like a long time has passed to train this puppy. I don't remember it taking so long. It is very tiring that is for sure. When we had our last dog, I was up and outside running in the backyard with the little guy at 5:00 a.m., trying to get him tired enough so I could go back to bed. That was in the days before OA and FM.

Tammy - WooHoo! Time is sure getting closed now. Just a few more days, Just a few more days. I am sure you are very excited to see the end is clearly in site now.

I went to Edmonton on the weekend and to the passport office to apply for my Passport. We got there at 9:30 a.m. and there was over 1000 people standing in line! So we left and thought we would take our chances again after lunch. We went back at 1:40 p.m. and there were only about 100 people in the line so we waited. We had filled out our passport applications on line, and submitted them to Ottawa, then printed them off and had the necessary signatures done. Because we did that, when we got through the doors, into the passport office, where there were over 200 people waiting, we were called right away. We were all finished (my daughter and her friend) we were out of there by 2:30 p.m. Brenda saw one of here friends parents there, and they had been sitting there since 11:00 a.m. That is one time the computer came in handy!!! Anyway it will be mailed out on 12 March, so now I can go to Denmark in May

I hope everybody has a good day.
  • Chris, I definitely agree about the flares!! Glad to hear from you though.

Meme, I agree about the chocolate!!! We really think alike!!! We had some rain yesterday, and today we have fog. All of the schools are closed again. We can't even see the building next door. Earlier we couldn't see the trees in the backyard, but now we can at least see those. They are very pretty with the frost on them.

Mima, I get so frustrated when I'm doing things on the computer that others can do so quickly.

Anne, since we are closed again today, I now have 5 days left! It just doesn't seem possible. Hooray for getting the passport done!! You were smart to get what you could done on the computer.
