Scale,stayed the same today. Sleep the same. FBG high!😥. I need a reset!

Oncology appointment with NP went very well. Even infusion went very well. I guess I was hydrated enough because the nurse who does my infusions a lot, got a vein on her first try. Everything is going very well. NP said my kidneys are functioning very well and the little bit of protein that is still in my urine is a result of the infusion medicine I get. Lab #s were either improved are the same. So I'm doing well.
I took my protein shake with me as I always do, but didn't drink it because I never got hungry or thirsty. I did learn from my NP that the way to take care of my gallbladder and learned that I must be careful earing fat. That is good to know. We got tacos on the way home. I ate dinner and then ate again when I got hungry. I made 2 scrambled eggs with nuked Normandy broccoli vegetables and ate it and it was really good. I usually have problems eating right on infusion day, but this worked out great. Tried not to sleep too much when we got home so I hope I get a good nights sleep tonight. |
DH broke even at the casino. We went there mainly to eat the fish dinner but he took a little bit of money to gamble. His money lasted a long time. We came home early and I stopped at Dollar General to get Benedryl. so I slept better.
Scale down a bit, 177.0. :carrot: Blood sugar up. Too high to mention. I ate a candy bar when I got up. Not a smart thing to do.:rollpin: I had such a terrible cramp in my foot this morning. Nothing would help so I had to get up. I dont know why I had that. I no longer take Lasix. I want to, but the cramps will be really bad. Glad your treatments and labs are good,Trish. Carol Sue I'm glad you were able to sleep. I went to bed at midnight last night and really stretched to stay awake till then. I tried to stay awake to watch YouTube things with DH but couldn't go any longer. I always have to wake up by 7:30 on the mornings I go for infusion so I'm usually exhausted when I get home. I take my bp medicine, an allergy pill and a Pepcid at least an hour before I go to bed and I fall asleep within just a few moments when I get in bed. I sleep so good and get up around 8:30 most mornings. I would go for infusion later in the day, but my oncologist is only there 2 Fridays a month plus it takes them so long to get my medicine ready for infusion which means we that by the time we get home, it is almost time for dinner.
Weight this morning was 168.8 lbs. FBG was 115 but I think that is because of time change for the 2 meals... dinner and supper instead of brunch and dinner. BP was fine. I had my homemade egg mcmuffin for brunch this morning and we are having tilapia for dinner. I am back to eating my salads again. Spring is coming and I really am into my salads again. DH usually cooks tilapia but I might cook it myself while he eats his salad because I would love to have mine in my salad. I'm starting to get hungry for veggies again and may start eating veggies for my snack time instead of protein shake. I've been thinking about how I ate when I was thinner in SC. I would nuke some veggies for a snack in the evening. I know they are important. Will see if that comes about. I would love to go back to eating Intuitively. Have a nice day everybody. |
I got my hair cut today and I think I like it. I think I want it highlighted. I mentioned it to DH and he didnt give an opinion. He just said its up to me to decide what I want. So I will go to the Beauty Supply House tomorrow and get what I need.
We could not decide what to eat for dinner today. First we were going to order pizza. Then he changed his mind and we ended up eating hot dogs and corn on the cob. I bought the corn in Walmart. It was 6 little half ears in a package, shipped from somewhere. It was good to have it. We only get corn locally in August and September. I will buy it again. |
I haven't had corn in quite a while, but I am ready for corn on the cob if we can get it this year. Now that I eat carbs, I'm eating the ones that I like corn is a favorite of both DH and me.
I am headed to bed. Clocks or set for new time and hope I can get used to getting up early. |
I am excited. Im down to 175.4. I passed over 176. Wonder if its the allulose?
I bought some Berberine yesterday at Walmart. It was expensive. I cant remember what I read that made me want to try it. Thing is, my Metformin is $0 cost to me, So this Berberine better do something I want to make it worth the money. Sleep was good, now that I have the Benedryl. Blood sugar not great. For some reason my Blood Sugar went dangerously high yesterday. I cant remember what I ate that could have caused that. According to what I read in the past I should have gone to the ER. But from past experience I know I can get it back down on my own. One time in the hospital my blood sugar was so high from the dye they injected. They only use insulin for coverage, no long acting. I said I could bring it down if I had my meds from home. The nurse got upset and told me "Never bring meds from home!". They never give meds for diabetes only insulin injections. |
Carol Sue Congratulations on the loss. I never liked the hospital giving me insulin, because I wasn't sure they were accurate. I always wonder how accurate it could be when they didn't get around to checking it while I was eating. Of course it is going to be higher while I'm eating. Glad you were able to sleep.
Weight bounce to 169.6 this morning. I had my last homemade egg mcmuffin for breakfast. I've decided to go back to eating my low carb breakfast of 2 eggs tomorrow. I've got a little bit of 100% WW bread but may put that in freezer. I do have my low carb tortillas but they are low carb for my taquito. I do eat carbs but will start cutting them back again. I'm eating mostly to get my FBG back down. FBG this morning was 120. I know dinner is never going to be low carb, but my breakfast and evening snack can be lower carb. I also care more about how I feel after eating. I don't know how much I pay for Berberine. I've got it on auto order from Amazon. I've wondered if I should change brands, but as long as it keeps my bs from going up too high, I stay with it. I read years ago that if you keep your bs below 120 that you won't damage your organs so I work at keeping it under 120. I really would love to at least get it back down below 110. I still have to read more about Berberine to see why I wanted to take it. I know the benefits of Metformin and I want to live to 100+. It does say online do not take both, take one or the other. I just want to try it and see what happens. If I decide to take it I will order from a cheaper place, Amazon or Walmart.com.
Our hospital checks blood sugar before each meal. The insulin they inject is based on your blood sugar, reading and the meal you will be eating. They know how many calories and carbs are in your meal and I think they assume you are going to eat it all. I took half of a Lasix. My right foot is puffy. I never asked why my right foot swells,and not my left. I can take it now when I know I'm not going out anywhere. I should be ok by bedtime. When I took it before I took half at 5 AM and half at 5 PM. |
I only took a half Lasix and I'm peeing like crazy. Also I'm getting a really bad cramp in my right calf, and I'm not even in bed yet. So I'm going to have to do something about the cramp, either eat some salt or use my Spray on lotion for cramps, Theraworx. Ive been drinking a lot of water but its the electrolytes that I need.d I'll be very curious to see what the scale has to say tomorrow.

Sleep was poor because of the cramp in my calf and foot. Why only the right? I have to make an appointment with my dear Cardiologist.
That was the bad part of taking the half Lasix. The good part was the scale was down to 172.2 from 175.4 yesterday. I know its not a true loss, its fluid loss. But I cant continue this unless I can get rid of the cramp. Blood sugar is high. |
Carol Sue My blood sugar was high today too. It was 128. I'm out of control. I saw that today RFK jr is talking to the people who make our food. They were saying that diabetes and other diseases are caused by the additives and chemicals in our food. I really wonder about that because I try to eat a lot of foods that are supposed to be good for us only to learn later that it has something in it that isn't good for me. Makes me wonder who and what to trust.
I remember years ago eating a plant food that I really loved. Can't remember which brand it was but was a veggie type burger that I used at home for my hamburgers. I thought it was so good for me and a friend started sharing with me about GMO foods and which foods we ate that was made with them. Half the foods I ate including that particular brand I loved was made with GMOs and was not good for me. I've heard it said that our food is what causes our illness and I'm beginning to think that is probably true. I loved SBD and then I learned that the mayo is made with things we should not be eating. I watched Gundry yesterday and he says seed oils are what makes us fat and it is in everything and sold to us as a health food. Not sure what is true and what isn't. Pork chops today for dinner. I haven't done any exercise today and will have to push myself to get it done today. I never think of myself as a depressed person, but I think I'm either feeling depressed or frustrated or both. Weight was up to 171.8 this morning. I really don't want to gain weight, but I'm tired of dieting. I'll do it, but I'm frustrated with all of this. I got to get off my rear end and get busy. Trish, eat meat and vegetables and dont think of it as a diet. Diet means what we eat, but it has come to mean a weight loss diet. I dont know what these additives are in. They say to just eat real food. We eat too much packaged foods because thats what DH likes. Growing up they did not have them. Everything was cooked from scratch!
One time I bought some Bocaburgers to try . After eating one I fed them to the dog and n he loved them! They were soy burgers I think. |
I pushed my way through and made it today. I even did all my exercises. DH and I talked and we both did better on the Stevia than we are eating allulose. So we are going back to that to see if our FBG improves. The exercises really helped pull me out of the mully grubs.
I agree with you Carol Sue. I'm probably over thinking things and I probably should stop thinking of things as a diet. My Mama cooked from scratch. Growing up I learned to cook in junior and high school home making classes and from the women around me as well as DH#2s Grandmother and everything they made was from scratch. Now so many of our foods are processed. DH likes things made from a can or packaged. Example, I never ate canned chili or spaghetti until I married DH. I like homemade burgers and tacos, he likes takeout. I do believe that you can't go wrong eating mostly protein and veggies and I think some fruits are good for me too. I know we are going to eat other foods that aren't low carb, but I don't think it will hurt if I keep it at a minimum. |
Weight down 1.8 lbs to 170 lbs. FBG 117. Not sure what bp is because meter is acting up. I think I need a new one. Decided to go back to the way I always eat and count calories and carbs. I will work at balanced woe.
Going to Sam's today but don't think I will get out. I haven't shopped there in so long that I don't trust myself to not go wild so I will let DH take a list and buy what we need. Chinese food is on the list today and I've got calories at approximately 1200. Now to just do it. Carol Sue I hope you are doing okay today. Have a good day. |
