So, I'm starting off at 192. I didn't want to see the 190s again but it is what it is. I ate a lot of leftover ham yesterday and a few cookies. I hope the cookies are out the door in the next few days, never to be seen again, except for the ones DH likes. From now on the scale will go in a downward trend.

Carol Sue I'm up today to 186. I know I usually weigh early on Friday because it is my early morning so might have been that high if I had been able to weigh later. This means that I end this month with a 5.4 lb gain, but I can use the holidays as the excuse which means I have to get things working better than I did last year. Because I looked at what I weighed last Januray 1st and I have only lost 10.4 lbs during the whole year. Pathetic isn't it?

Tomorrow is my official WI day and is Jan 1st so I will officially go back OP tomorrow. I made the SF brownies yesterday and they keep calling my name which means that even though I can have them, I won't be making them too much any more. I also made the lite apple pie for DH and he said that he actually liked the cherry lite pie even in the pecan shell better. The nice thing about making them in the nut shell pie crusts is they don't have to be cooked. You just pour them in the nut/graham cracker shell, chill and eat when ready. I cooked the apple pie because I used pie dough shell and also covered it with pie dough.

Not sure what we will eat today. I wanted to cook chicken tenders with cream of chicken soup but I don't have tenders. So it will either be chipped beef or hot dogs. Not sure. We don't do anything special for NYD but I took out some ground beef to make either tacos or spaghetti. I will try to get DH to choose but he always tells me he doesn't care. I told him I was tired of deciding all the time, but he says "You know I will eat whatever you fix" and that is all I get out of him. Sometimes it would be nice for him to decide.

I think I need a nap. I was sleeping so good when the alarm went off and I had to make myself get up and dress to leave to beauty shop. So I need the nap.

Have a nice NY eve everybody and stay safe.

Trish, as of 2 days ago I lost 4 lbs this year but with the bump up today I broke even. No loss, no gain. It will be different this year.

I decided to have the pork and sauerkraut tomorrow. I saw hot dogs on sale so I got them and buns. Pork and sauerkraut is a big tradition here in Pittsburgh. I have had it every year as an adult. My mother didn't make it. I usually have it NY Eve but decided to change this year. I ate rotisserie chicken and DH had leftover cabbage rolls.
DH sliced the ham and I froze it in vacuum seal bags.

DH tells me he doesn't care what I make but when I tell him what I'm making he will say he doesn't want that. Next week I want to make chili. DH doesn't like my chili but he will eat it. I haven't made it for a while.

I will struggle but will try to stay up for New Year.

January 1, 2022.
Happy New Year!!

I didn't make it. I went to bed at 10:30 pm mainly because DH was flipping through channels and not watching anything. When he finally stopped it was Back To The Future II. Yuk. I woke up at midnight when everyone was setting off fireworks, told DH Happy New Year and went back to sleep.

I slept good. Got up at 8:30. 8+ hours total. Fitbit subtracts out any time awake so I was in bed from 10:30 to 8:30 but asleep for 8.5 hours. I hope that is the future of sleep for me.

Step daughter is coming over to get cookies. I will put the sauerkraut on around noon. Nothing else going on today.

I might stop tracking. I don't like the food listed on MFP. Its a guess unless its processed food or from a chain restaurant. Often I eat less than they require and they won't accept my entry unless I add more food. They don't know me and its not up to them to decide. I am a big girl and I know when I've overeaten. Having said that, I will still go there for my pound a week challenge and to keep up my streak in case I decide to go back.

Carol Sue That is interesting that you decided not to track on MFP, because I started tracking on my own today. I am not sure MFP helps me at all. I'm tracking in a notebook just to keep up with what I'm eating and how it affects weight or FBG.

Weight is up 3 lbs today to 189 which is probably water weight and will come down in a day or so. FBG was 92 and don't remember the BP # but it is great as well. So there have been a lot of improvements this past year and my goal this year is to keep it that way and get the weight moving downward more consistently and stop this constant recycling weight.

I've decided not to follow anyone elses rules. While I do like the old WW plan that was similar to IE of eat when hungry till satisfied and stop no counting anything, I still like the idea of IF but not any particular as I would like to learn to do that intuitively as well. So there may be days when that eating window is short or maybe even broken up but not written in stone as to what that window will be everyday. For example, today looks like a short eating window since I've been fasting so far today. Spaghetti is in the crockpot for today. I wanted to cook a beef roast but I think I will do that tomorrow or maybe later in the week because tomorrow's weather will probably be a day for chilli since the high for tomorrow is supposed to be in upper 40s or low 50s. I think today will probably be a 2 meal day within a 4 or 5 hr eating window.

Trish, I never tracked before, ever. I've been doing it in recent years and it hasn't helped. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So for me, its not a working tool but may work for others. I'm going to go according to my hunger.

Step son just called and, said his wife has Covid. She is DGS mother. Step son says he has a cold but he tested negative several days ago so he's going to work. I think he should get tested again but its not my call. Guess I'll put his cookies back in the freezer! We won't be seeing them anytime soon!

Carol Sue Sorry to hear about your step son's wife. I hope he doesn't have it or get it. The only thing about testing is you may not have it one day and then find you have it later. I've heard that you can have it and never know you have it so it is a very iffy situation.

I ate the spaghetti dinner and it was very good. I haven't had anything since then. I can't say whether I will eat anything later or not since this is just go by hunger woe. However as of right now I'm not hungry at all so will just see how it goes. Right now we are watching The Godfather and we will watch the Baylor game when it comes on tonight.

Have a nice evening.

Good sleep again last night.

I think its impossible for step son to be in contact with his son and not get covid. Just my opinion. All I know Is we are staying away from all of them for at least 2 more weeks. We were criticized for not joining in on holiday get togethers but it was best for us.

I plan on eating only when hungry and smaller meals than before. Also 6 hours or less eating window. No food after dinner. This will be hard, I know because of the way DH eats but I have to resist as best I can. I can't change him so I have to change me.

He will want to go to the casino because Steelers don't play.

DH brought McDonalds big breakfasts. 760 calories!!! Yikes!! I didnt eat the biscuit so I tracked each individual item to see my calories. 470. Much better. I'm on the fence. If we go to the casino I won't eat more than a salad. He hasn't mentioned it but he has all our electronics on charge and went to get gas. That's a clue.

HI everyone: I am not reporting a weight because I don't want to weigh until I have fasted. Last week I only fasted completely one day. I did OMAD a couple of days, and NY eve and NY day I overate and ate too much junk, including those nice wafer thin after dinner mints.
I am planning to fast today. I think I need to go out for a walk when DH makes his supper. I don't get tempted at breakfast or even lunch the way I do when he makes supper. That is my peak hunger time, and its so easy to decide I want to eat while I am smelling his own cooking. If he just makes himself a salad it might be ok.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe.

Mad, I understand not wanting to smell DHs food. My sense of smell is very poor since my teens. I think its sinus related. I could not even smell sauerkraut cooking on New Years. But often just knowing DH is eating give my appetite a start. Seeing or even thinking about food.

My plan is to only weigh on Friday morning. I reserve the right to change that if it doesn't seem to help.

I have decided that I need to eat the 2MAD Brunch and Dinner and stay within a 6 hr window. The eating will be 4 hr window, but I drink a cup of coffee with collagen later so will do that so that I will stay within 6 hr eating window since it has 40 calories.

Weight is coming back down which I knew it would and it was 187.2 down 1.8 lbs. Still wonder why I can gain 3 lbs over night but takes days to lose it. Just glad it is coming down.

Carol Sue Like you I need to not eat in the evening. It is strange but I will cook breakfast for myself but in the evening, I will not cook. I end up eating junk because it is readily available. While I lost less than 2 of the 3 lbs gained, my FBG was 112 and it was nothing but junk. Thus back to the 2MAD as brunch and dinner. I also checked the calories on MFP for today and I will have less than 1100 calories today if I stay with plan. I sure am going to give it a try.

Fatmad You have done so well through the holidays so that I am sure you will do so as you get back into your IF/EF routine. I think we all will once we get into the routine of what we are doing. The key is to make it a lifestyle just as you have done in the past year. I think Carol Sue and I have a good plan that just needs to become our lifestyle.

It got down to about 24 degrees last night and is only 32 now so chilli is in the crockpot. Funny thing is that when I told DH I was cooiing chilli today, he asked me "Can we still have a salad with that? I've got used to eating it and really like having a salad everyday". Can you imagine? This is the man whose DD and I both had a hard time ever getting him to eat one. It is a good thing because as much as I do love my salads, I have to say I would not eat them everyday if I wasn't making them for him.

Adrienne I hope things are going well for you and you came through the holiday with little to no problem.

Have a nice day everybody.

Trish, I don't eat salad much at home. Here's why. I'm cooking dinner and don't stop to make salad. We start eating dinner as soon as its done. If it was something like chili I could make the salad while its simmering. I prefer hot food so I like a hot vegetable with dinner.

The salads at the casino have mostly romaine so that's why I like them so much. DH does not like romaine. He only likes iceberg.

We are supposed to get snow this evening but they said no accumulation. I hope the highway doesn't get icy.

Hi Adrienne, and any lurckers. Join in!!! We love visitors and we don't bite.

Not a good day at the casino but we won a couple times in December and you have to lose sometimes. I did get to eat a salad! It didn't snow at all.

Before we left I made the dough for more apricot cookies. They are all gone but there's some other cookies still in the freezer. Everybody likes the apricot, and I have more filling left.

In the morning I have a list for Walmart. DH will want to go for breakfast and Goodwill. Then home to bake. The Steelers play on Monday Night Football. It is Big Ben's last home game so they want to win.

My DIL is feeling better but cannot taste anything. Many of the schools around here are coming back to online learning due to Covid among teachers and staff.

Nothing else new.

Goodnight.
