peatpod: i'd look at some dr scholl orthotics or maybe see about some fitted ones, this may be happening from some unusualy pressure from the extra exercise you are getting and something to relieve that will help with exercise again. You may need to switch to something not weight bearing for a bit, like stationary (or not so stationary) biking. I hope to get the bike out tomorrow for a bit.
I have been MIA for a few days, my mother suffered a major stroke on Tuesday evening and passed away the next night. Dad called and we were able to see her and support him. A diabetics nightmare, stress, a sudden trip and what and where to eat. How to stay on plan....
I managed it, but haven't had the urge to eat off plan so badly in ages.
But I did stick to plan but didn't exercise much, a few short walks in the neighbourhood. Then a couple of days of beginning to sort through mum's stuff. She was always a bit of a keeper, but became a dedicated packrat with her dementia, so we have a lot of work cut out for us.
So though I am sad that she is gone, I am also relieved. Her dementia made her very angry and abusive, and I feel like I lost my mother this time last year, so have been grieving her loss for a while. With her death, and going through her things, we are reminded of the real mum. The thanks from the families of friends for all she did for them, and the correspondence from friends is so lovely, we have enjoyed it all immensely.
Dad is doing ok, and enjoying this phase of reaquainting himself with the woman he loved too.
I am not sleeping well, lots of disturbed nights and long days, but will take something soon to help with that.
hope everyone is doing ok,
