I don't measure everyday anymore but here's today's number 78!
Can high morning BSL be caused by going to low at night? My fasting used to go to low, then we lowered my insulin and it steadied off at normal, now I've had to increase my insulin again and it is STILL going to high in the mornings. Do late nite protiein snacks actually help sugar stay normal? Anybody here wake up during the nite to test? I'm at such a loss! (and pregnant...probably has something to do with it :P )
Susan . . . a middle of the night low is one of the most common reasons for an early morning high . . . I have them a lot. Used to blame it on the Insulin, but then I stopped using insulin and I'm still getting them. Yes, I often test in the wee hours if I have to get up to use the bathroom, for example. Trouble is, it often means I'm awake for hours afterwards.
I've been in the 6.3/6.4 range (113/115) the last two mornings in a row.

A low would affect it but a sugar dump should still not raise you that high. It still a sign that your body is used to high numbers and wants to try to get there... so it is indicative of not as good control.
I found that taking care of my post meal numbers, never 140 after one hour, helped my fasting sugar more than anything. But of course diabetes is so weird, it's different for everyone.
Do you guys ever check your post breakfast numbers, after 1 hour, after 2?
I don't check mine anymore - but my labwork shows 85 - 90.
Mine was 131 this morning but I am fighting off a nasty cold too so maybe tomorrow will be better !! We will see what happens !!
