Okay :o . . . I'm back and I've calmed down a little. Had coffee; wrestled the garbage to the curb; fed everybody; -- and banished the nasty scale:devil: to the corner.
After three days of reading 226 . . . now that it is my official weigh-in morning, he had the audacity to register 228 AGAIN . . . we have been doing this same routine for two month's now. Let's see how he likes standing face to the wall for a while. He won't be coming out until the end of the month -- I know, it's not far off -- but it is a Sunday (usually one of my low days). Maybe this will at least break the pattern of the personal vendetta he has going for me. Then he will return to the corner until the end of October (a Wednesday ) Hopefully Mr. Scale:devil: will learn some manners by then. BGL was a nasty 7.1 (128) this morning. Honestly think it was mostly because I didn't test until after my twilight zone encounter with the scale. Amazing what a little stress can do. Weather is playing strange again, too. After two dull days, the sun is shining but it is quite humid. Wonder what the next few days will bring? BTW . . . I think Monet gave you a very good answer, THIN . . . there are definitely varying schools of thought on the subject and it's always a good idea to mix things up a little. Other than that, SSDD for me -- hope everybody else is having a great one -- See you later . . . :grouphug: |
Oh wow . . . I just couldn't resist posting this . . . my 'horror'scope for this morning . . . :lol3: . . . Usually I don't put much stock in these things. Today, however, they seem to have hit the old nail right on the thumb.
You might find today, dear Pisces, that it's almost impossible to be patient with others and yourself. With the influence from this day's aspects, irritation, impatience, and anger are all likely to be felt stronger and quicker than usual. If things don't fall into place, rather than getting upset, consider leaving it for another day. Don't be too hard on yourself or others. Further, biting your tongue might save you in the long run. |

The heightening is permanent so I can't switch back and forth. I can have him lower it back to how it was, but it will have to stay that way. Today my thighs & calves were aching - so I guess this is a good thing and I will just aim to get better at using higher one! I've come a long way as when I started using the step-thingy I could only do 10 or 15 minutes TOTAL 3 days a week, now I do an hour a day. Quote:
What's up for Sagittarius? :D is my day going to get any better? Quote:
Well I have 2 functions to attend this week, on Friday night a cocktail party - so I will eat my good dinner before I go and hopefully not be tempted by any delicious appetizers :o and then Saturday night there is a dinner at the Golf Club. I really wish I could skip these things because they either stress me out, make me feel deprived, or induce a meltdown where I eat bad stuff. :( |
Hi thin.. it was acorn squash and i seeded and peeled it and cut it up in small chunks then nuked it.. after i put the sf jam and cinnamon on it..i also use the sf jam and cinnamon on sweet potatoes and yams..hope u like it to.. rosey

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:
Up way to early this morning -- fed the cats and picked up everything they knocked over during the night -- had my coffee -- checked my BGL (6.1 / 110) -- wondering what to do next. At least the scale:devil: is still safely in the corner having his little 'time-out'. So I can't even rant about him. Exercise on Thursday is usually a "shop 'til you drop" with my buddy LouLou; but today it just might be "clean the garage" instead. Will see how things feel once I find out what the weather is going to be like. It is only now starting to get light out there. FFFF -- Sucking a lemon, or sipping undiluted, unsweetened, lemon juice, can stimulate saliva flow in some one who has chronic dry mouth. Use with moderation, though, because it has been said that highly acidic lemon juice can actually dissolve a pearl. Continued 'lemon-sucking' can be harmful to your 'pearly whites'. Hope you all have great plans for the day . . . see you later . . . |

Well, I did both . . . spent a couple of hours shovelling out the garage . . . had a relatively light lunch with LouLou and then did another couple of hours of 'mall-crawling'.
Then. . . . I blew all that wonderful calorie-burning effort by eating 600 calories of Cote d'Or, 86% dark chocolate . . . :yikes: From a BGL point of view . . . only about the equivalent in carbs to a couple of pieces of fruit . . . wrapped up in 10 tsps of butter. :o Okay, tomorrow will be a better day. BTW, it was truly delicious. Definitely get the Subaru Forrester, ROSEY . . . I love mine. See you later, gang . . . |

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:
Another day . . . but it is raining to beat the band . . . supposed to clear up sometime tomorrow afternoon and be pretty nice for the rest of the weekend. :crossed: BGL is still running too high at 6.7 (121), but, so far everything else is pretty good with my world . . . did my morning exercises -- deep (better call that shallow) knee bends and some upper-body strength moves -- followed by protein pancakes for breakfast. Felines didn't destroy anything major overnight; just the normal morning chaos to clean up. Here's a little tip for today that I hope you will find handy . . . http://www.everydayhealth.com/Public...e4fd46fce&p=33 Nothing too exciting on my agenda for the rest of today . . . how about you? Keep things moving and shaking everybody . . . :carrot: |
Interesting little study about the possibility of a connection between Diabetes and Alzheimers that I thought you might like to read . . . http://www.dlife.com/diabetes-news/2...of_a.html#more

Hi everyone!
New to this thread and looking for some support. I was diagnosed with diabetes last year and am still learning how to eat and what works for me. Thought I would say hi and see if everyone is OK with me joining in your group.

Hi Crime girl, welcome to the thread! So tell us how you are doing? are you type 1 or 2?
I was diagnosed with type 2 in May and I'm doing pretty well. Hi Meowee, I'm almost afraid to click on that Alzheimers article :o I really do not want there to be a link to Diabetes :dizzy: I'm forgetful enough as it is! You guys would have been so proud of me today. I had to leave work early to take my daughter to the doctors. After her appointment we stopped by the mall to get a few things, I hadn't eaten since breakfast and I thought about going into a restaurant for lunch, I was so close to going in - but at the last moment (and at the door) decided nope, we're going home. I had my regular healthy meal of grilled chicken, veggies and brown rice. Then I did an hour of cardio.. Tonight we had a party to go to, there was TONS of food, spring rolls, deep fried lobster, roti, wraps, meatballs, rack of lamb, lasagna, tarts, cakes, squares.... and I had....... a tea with sweetener, a water & a coffee with sweetener ... not one morsal of food passed my lips :carrot: It was pretty tough, everywhere I looked people were eating, a couple of times the room was just spinning, I swear everyone was chewing! I kept thinking about my trip, and the clothes I want to buy before I go and the formal nights where I want to look really nice. That kept me from devouring the cheesecake. Tomorrow night I have a dinner at my husband's club, I talked to the food & beverage manager tonight, they are doing a special low fat/no salt dinner for me and a fruit plate for dessert. I am trying so hard to do as well as I can, only 7 1/2 weeks until our trip. |
