Talking Weekend Chat - Novembe 26th and 27th

Good Morning,

Hope you all are doing okay after this wonderful Thanksgiving

Any special plans for the weekend? Nothing here, just gonna clean from taking the christmas stuff out and thats about it. We went to the rag shop yesterday, like 6 pm and the stores were empty !!! wonder if the retailers did what they were hoping b/c the way it was around here was no different than any other day lol. We didn't see anything worth running out for.

Whats happening by you?

Dh and I went shopping for the kiddo yesterday. Then we got a sitter and went out last night. It was great, a lot of fun, and very much needed. We had so much fun that we are going to get a sitter again tonight and go out with the same friends

good morning gang!

Leenie - what's a "rag shop"? Did ya'll see on the national news the poor lady that got knocked down when they were trying to get into stores yesterday - they knocked her down and knocked her wig off. She was pitiful. Then they should some guys that were fighting inside the store. Gosh it's crazy the things people do - that is just not Christmas to me - all the buying and commercialism and crowds and rushes for a "good buy" and running to beat your fellow man. Goodness. Seems like every year I try harder to do something to keep it as simple as possible.

Bearcat - I'm glad you and dh had fun. Sounds like the crowds must have been much better than what they were showing on the news. Of course, they only show the most bizarre stuff ;-) Hope you and dh have a good time tonight.

Leenie - did you get your tree up?

I'm cleaning house today and well be glad to have it done so we can start messing it up again

Hope everybody has a great day!

hugs,
cathy

Hi everyone!

Not too much going on today......flu shots for the girls...we got ours already.
Then we have an open house for our neighbout who had a baby Then I work for 4 houra in the ER.

Lots of family visiting right now as we had a wedding yesterday.

I am very disappointed about all the commercialism around xmas as well. The christmas carols are being piped into all the stores and being played on the radio. People have had their homes decorated since after Halloween.

I guess I can only change what I do. I refuse to decorate until the first week of Dec at the earliest.....preferably after my dd's birthday on the 9th. I don't buy as much at all.....and just refuse to get all wrapped up in the fuss!

Have a great day everyone......time for coffee!

Liz

Cathy, that is really sad. I refuse to go stand on line only to be trampled. Not worth it to me. How is your finger ?? Yes my little tree is up. Its really Grace's tree and we put it up together. I have my indoor decorations out and when it warms up I'll put the outside stuff up. I just love how the holidays feel when I put the decorations up inside. Feels warm ya know.

Bear, glad you had a good time with DH. You know my DD is 4 and I still haven't gotten a sitter and went out with DH. I'm long overdue wouldn't you say LOL !!! Have fun tonight.

Liz a wedding oh how nice what colors were the girls wearing?
I agree with you, decorating for christmas around hallween is just sad. I only decorate after Thanksgiving b/c its hard when you have no time during the week and the weekends are just getting to cold. Enjoy your coffee

Alison whats shakin ?

DH is upstairs putting together the bedroom set HE built for my DD. She is so lucky and has no idea. Spoiled is more like it LOL!!! I told her I'll take her room and she can have mine. I'll take some pictures and post them for you all as soon as he's done. It won't be for a few days though. The little details take forever lol.

Okay I'm back upstairs helping him....what a LOOOOOOOONG day lol.

Hugs everyone.

Hi Everybody:

I've been trying to catch up and re-hab...should be back to work maybe Thursday....this laying around is depressive in itself.....I've been trying to stop the percs. except for nighttime.... I can now move my arm about 15 degrees in all directions

I faced the scale last week and felt disgusted, 5 weeks of inactivity shows up immediately on my butt....but I am determined to come back strong.

off to change my tracker, SIGH!
