Weekend Chat....Dec. 18 & 19

  • Hi everyone.....I am starting this before I go to bed......it was another busy day.....DH & I were up at 7 to go to coffee with friends at Tim Horton's. I brought a gift for a friend.....we missed a breakfast last week.....I didn't write it down & I forgot.
Anyway....I got my friend a stained glass angel for the tree.....a little one....that you put on the tree.....it is pretty.

I went shopping.....ended up coming home about 3 1/2 hours later.....I think I have finished most of the shopping....just the food next week.

DS2 & his GF are coming on Tuesday....DH is going to help me clean on the weekend.

I have been doing good with food today....this week I made muffins....banana oat.....I found the recipe online & adapted it to make it more point friendly....they are good. :sman: :sman:

  • waiting on the coffee
    Good Morning Gals
I am waiting on the coffee to brew .......up early just because I couldnt go back to sleep!

This is a totally "free" weekend and am I ever glad! No particular plans except to tie up some lose ends and like April plan the meal for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. I am concentraing on a pretty table more than lots of food...just a little more "festive" and different! We dont have a huge crowd...except when the 4 kids get here and they like simple things so it's easy!

April.I am proud of you sticking to WWers.................it is a very livable plan isnt it? It has never failed me as long as I do it! I have maintained a 42 pound loss for a long time. When the scales go up a bit I just follow Core or Flex and it comes right back off. They key is to acy quickly!

Well the coffee is done ! See you all later.

Be blessed and above all Remember the Reason for the Season!

  • Well this is a wonderful surprise... Good Morning Ladies

Cin enjoy your free weekend... mine is not so free, well yes it is lol, I have a ton of cleaning to do but I feel like shopping You know Cin, I like simple get togethers, it makes the holidays sooo much more enjoyable. There's pressure all year round, I think Christmas is one of the times there shouldn't be.

April is such an inspiration, I'm so happy she found a plan she likes. WTG!!!!

I've been up since 5 am, A headache woke me up, you know the kind that starts from the neck b/c your sleeping funny, so I got up, took tylenol, made coffee, talked with DH and told him his gift won't be here in time for xmas, he said mine wont either, so we both had a hardy chuckle this morning. Main thing is that DD has her stuff and that alone makes the both of us happy. Even the dog has a gift

Yesterday I got my hair touched up, now mind you, I have DARK hair, I had it highlighted a year ago. I went to a new place where my nephew works and they guy who was supposed to touch up my roots made me TOTALLY BLOND!!!! I don't like it but its okay, I'll let it grow out and then go back to my natural brown color. Its way to blond for me. I was telling LindaT that this place is in a RICH town, I mean loaded. They charge for a haircut and blow dry $80.00....gulp. Get this.... you should have seen the KIDS!!!!!!!!!! getting their hair cut. Is it me or what ???? I won't pay no more than $15.00 for a kid, yet $80 So a highlighting job is over $200.00....BIG GULP!!!!... since it was my nephews friend, he only charged me $50.00 for the color and a cut... The furs and diamond in that place was way to much for this simple country bunkin LOLOLOL. AND he cut it a little to short in the back... ka sa rah sa rah

Sooooooo whats everyone doing this fine Saturday ?
  • <---LOVE HIM !!!!

    :merry: :snf: :merry:
  • Good Morning Gang!

I was up at 6 even tho it was midnight before I got in bed (waiting on youngest ds to get in). No matter what time I go to bed, or how tired I am, at 6 am I wake up and then I start "thinking" and can't get back to sleep. grrrrrrrrrrrr

I've already washed 5 loads of clothes, baked a double batch of oatmeal cookies for the Angola Prison Ministry team to take with them tomorrow morning for a Christmas service, baked 2 pecan pies, and now I'm baking a double batch of Mrs Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies, which is my families favorite cookie at Christmas. And yes, I've already had 3 of those, warm out of the oven. That is my breakfast along with my 2 cups of coffee hehe. I will have some protein for lunch and then.....

tonight is my dh's side of the family Christmas get together. It is about around 60 people in a little house. It's crowded but a lot of fun. His mom makes a huge gumbo and the rest of us bring finger foods and sweets and we just eat and visit and exchange presents and have a good time seeing everyone.

Ed's mom got his dad a new mazda truck for Christmas. It is a surprise and they will give it to him tonight. We are all excited for him! Everybody knows except for him and I cannot believe that no one has let the cat out of the bag, but it is still a surprise. It is parked here at our house and Ed will drive it over tonight when they are ready to surprise him. what fun!

hey april - i am so glad that you are enjoying ww and doing wel on it! you have really been committed to it and that is great! ww is a great plan!

hey cin - sounds like we all couldn't sleep this morning. too many things to be doing. I love a festive table!

hey leenie - I cannot picture you with blonde hair! can you take a picture and post it for us? or email me one? I would love to see ya as a blonde! I know a lot of people pay that kind of money you are talking about, but not this country bunkin either. hehe of course, I don't look like I spend $200 on my hair either. wah

ok I just let this sheet of cookies get too dark (bec I was playing in here). I like my cookies just barely done when I take them out of the oven so that they will stay chewy soft even after they cool. rats!

I gotta get back in the kitchen and stay there until I finish.

I hope everyone has a BLESSED day even in the busyness!

    hugs hugs & hugs,
    cathy
  • Good morning ladies

We are going to get hit by snow again. So dh and I are going to be heading out to the store in a bit.But I will be back!!!!! BBBwahhhhh hahahaha
  • Hi Ladies
WOW everyone's early this am-everyone but me I slept in 'til 10:30 , but I really needed it! Not much happening today. We're going to go see our son at the jail, and then we might go to the BIG CITY (Jacksonville, FL) to just browse around the mall.

Leenie: Is it true blondes have more fun? Well, I guess you'll be finding out . I understand about the RICH people. We live about 45 minutes from Sea Island, GA. You should see the HOMES! Wow It's interesting to see how the other half lives

Lynnie: You're getting a lot of snow! Do you live close to Lake Erie? It would be a whole lot nicer if it fell just on the trees and lawns-not on the roads and sidewalks

Cathy: Have a wonderful time with your family tonite. What a wonderful surprise for your father-in-law . I wish that I could make cookies or something for the guys at the jail . They won't let families bring anything in. My husband and the guys at the jail ministry will be visiting Monday night-maybe they'll bend the rules just once. The important thing is that they're bringing in God's word. More guys are getting saved, and they're having Baptisms on Saturday mornings!

CIN: How did your dinner for the church staff turn out? You've got a good plan for Christmas-keep it simple, and concentrate on WHO we're celebrating

    Have a wonderful weekend!
  • Hi again everyone

It is a grey day today.....have sat at the light box for at least 1 1/2 hours this morning while having coffee, breakfast & reading the paper....feeling good.

I have a cold now.....it seems to be the same one I had in October & November....it just came back. It seems to be the left side plugged up....plus the left side of the head....plus that ear.

Cin.....I really like doing the Weight Watchers online.....ever since they had the activity points.....maybe since 1997....when I did WW....never did anything with these activity points.....but with the online version....the program swaps the activity points right away....so I end up eating most of the activity points.....I was wondering.....before.....if.....I wasn't eating enough food?.....maybe that was why it was so hard to stick to before.....maybe I was in the starvation mode.

I am staying home today.....do some cleaning.....DS2 & his GF are arriving on Tuesday. Also I am going to make some tourtiere....French Canadian meat pie.....it's a family tradition....my 5 sisters all make it for Christmas also.....we are French Canadian. :sman:

So I should go for now.

    April
  • Yup I live about 15 mins away from Lake Erie; right in the snow belt.So if they are calling for 2 inches in other parts of Ohio I promise we will get a foot. I am so tired right now I can't see straight.I am getting so excited about my trip to maryland.

    *hugs*
    lynnie
  • Hi Ladies, Just popped in to say a quick HI!! And drinking a cup of coffee
quickly. Then jump in the tub and then off to work I go.. It was a mad
house there yesterday. All the crying and hollering kids!! And all the
    shoppers, of course..
Oh, the cookies sound really good!
    Sorry someone has the cold.
The cookies for the Angola Prison ministry is a really nice thing to do. My youngest brother is in Angola. My other brother, is going visit with him this morning. The older brother is a truck driver. Like my dad was. I miss my dad. He died 2 years ago of cancer.
My older sister has cancer of the liver right now. I hope she lives a long time though. Her only daughter is getting married this coming May.
Well ladies, my bath is calling me.
You all have a blessed day!! Hugs to all, Lanee..
  • Good Morning !!

Hope everyone is doing well today.

Lanee I'm sorry to hear about your sister, she and the rest of your family are in my prayers. I too lost my dad when I was 20 years old, he was 54 and died of lung cancer (yes he smoked). I have a brother who passed at the age of 34 from a heart attack and a sister who passed away at the age of 45 from a rare blood disease that took her life in one week. We never even knew what she had, she was hospitolized because we thought she had a really bad case of the flu, turns out it was Moscowitz (sp?) disease. The doctors said she would be okay but she never made it out of the hospital. She went in on a Sunday and died on that Friday. I can so understand how you are feeling. Just keep smiling kiddo, just keep smiling and don't ever give up hope.

SueMarie, once you start highlighting your hair, it gets addicting, you don't wanna stop, but the guy who did my hair cut it a wee bit short and its TOO blond. Another thing is, its expensive, thats the part I hate the most. I always feel guilty spending the money on my hair. But...all in all....its fun

Joanne, do blonds have more fun ????? if I ever find out, I'll let you know lol. I'm glad you got good news on your ankle, and I know your excited for the walking cast, shoot, I can't blame you for that. Whats shakin by you ? are you doing any baking for Christmas ? Did you have fun shopping (browsing lol).

April, how's WW treating you over the holidays, are you able to stay on track. I told myself that there is NO way I'm gonna do any baking unless I have to, I don't need any more temptations laying around the house. So far so good. I'm snackin on low fat popcorn and fruit. Trying to make healthier choices these two weeks I'm home. I don't need to gain another 10 lbs b/4 I go back to work OY!

Lynnie, how's the snow ? I think we're getting some tomorrow and I'm praying we DON'T !!! I don't want to see any until February lol.

Cathy, tell your DS congrats on becoming the best marcher. I know your so proud of them, and you should be. Your a good mom. How did the Truck giving party go last night ? musta been a lot of fun.

Lizzzzzzy watcha up to girl, we miss you.

Tippy, whats shakin ? how's the house coming along. Did you manage to put up a tree in all the rutkus? How's DD ?

Cin, keeping 42 lbs off is something to be proud of. Its not only hard to lose the weight but its even harder to maintain, I give you alot of credit. What are you cooking for the holidays ?

I was going to bring DD to church today but she slept late and I am still so stuffy and coughing like crazy.

Yesterday I got to clean out a couple of kitchen cabinets, that always makes me feel good. Cleaned the living room and kitchen as well. We stayed up a little late with DD and let her watch Annie. After all its her vacation too This kid gets tunnel vision when she watches tv, just like her dad. A bomb can go off next to her and she will not take her eyes from the tv.. They are book ends I tell yah. Its kinda funny.

I better get up and feed the grouchies here lolol

    Hugs everyone
  • WOWOWOW liz what a great dinner, I'll be over tomorrow for left overs Sounds like you had a wonderful evening

I hear ya on not going to the stores, can't blame yah. YEAH for DH cleaning the house, don'tcha just love surprises like that. This morning DH brought me Graham Cracker coffee (thats the name of the flavor, its WONDEFUL) and a plain roll for breakfast.... They don't realize how little things like that can make us so happy.

We are watching Elmo in Grouchland lol its cute...... Well I'm gonna surf the web.
