Hi gals,
Would you believe I was up at 6:15 cleaning a guest bedroom out and just finished at 11:10?Ha! Our guest bedroom is like most..a "catch all" for everything! My husband's brother & his wife are coming for Thanksgiving and staying a week so I had some serious work to do and little time this weekend!

If you all get a chance.last week's success story on the official WW website was about Donna.one of my very own members! She has kept 90 plus pounds off for over a year now! Go to this weeks success story and click on recent success stories under Donna Like Mother Like son please! It is a thrill to read about someone you ACTUALLY know!

I have to run..take care...look forward to your posts everyone!

Hello Everyone!

CIN – That’s a great success story! Congrats! I bet you are excited and you are right, it’s exciting to read about someone you know… for us that is YOU!

KO – I’m so sorry about your run in with such rude people. It’s amazing how rude people can be and not even know who you are. I’m taking a “Perspectives on Gender” course at the university this term. Altho, at times it seems like it’s more “Male Bashing 101” to some people, they do try to bring in the male perspective as much as they can by engaging the male students or having male speakers. I have three instructors, 1 straight female, 1 bi-sexual female, and 1 lesbian. However, there is this one club on campus whose president has taken it upon himself to pass out derogatory flyers about their lifestyle and how they should be banned from campus and this and that and so forth. He showed up to a class meeting for one of the summer sessions and was escorted out by police. This session, he handed out flyers. His flyers were so derogatory that one of the instructors about broke into tears. I think it’s just horrible that people would be so rude and obnoxious about a person they don’t even know. This instructor explained to us how her parents put her into therapy for to try to make her straight and how they would abuse her if she would insist on being the way she was. I felt so bad for her that this person had to resort her to almost being in tears. I wanted to go punch the guy out! GRR!

I’m sorry KO I went off on a tangent. EEK! It just sucks that people have to be so rude.

It’s been quite a grumpy past few days for me as well. I’m just glad I get all of next week off from work! YAY! Unfortunately, I still have a few papers I have to write among a few lesson plans I have to write as well… So I’ll be spending my free week doing homework… ICK

I’ll be taking the kid and James to the Getty Museum this weekend tho. We can get out and do something with each once and a while. Since we have her on weekdays it’s hard to get away from home life cause of work and school and what not. However, we do get her once a month on the weekends, and those are ours to just hang out and do stuff together.

One thing good did happen for me this week. The Principal of the school I worked at announced assistant of the month today. All the teachers and students get to vote. Guess who got it? Yours truly… woohoo! They announced it early, they usually announce at end of month. However, we have the next week off for thanksgiving so they had the voting done early. I got a bouquet of flowers, one of those sausage rolls and a cheeseball (yummy!) Eww grin.

I guess I better get running, must go down to the campus to pick up some books for my research paper.

You ladies take care!

For those who don't know me, I'm handicapped and I could write a book on rude people! I've been "like this" for 58 years, so I've had a lot of practice on handling them. One example:

We were entering the Wal-Mart with me driving my electric cart and Roger behind me, pushing a cart! Three women were blocking the enterence with their carts while chatting. YOu could tell that they knew exactly what they were doing as people had to practically climb over their carts to get in. Here come loud mouth Tippy! I said in a very loud voice, "Are you rude to everyone or just to me?". Everyone around starting laughing and those stupid cows moved away fast!

I've discovered that some people don't think a handicapped person can be assertive. Well, they've never met me! Teenage males seem to try to intimidate me by walking in large groups right toward me as if daring me not to get out of their way! HA! I just keep going! They part like the Red Sea! This old lady isn't going to stop for any pimply faced little boy in baggy pants!
