Good Morning Liz!
looks like you were the early bird here this morning! how ya doing girlie?

Good Morning Gang!

It's beautiful here this morning! Hope it stays that way. DH is traveling with about 75 of our teenagers going to Houston, Texas today to the big Galleria Mall (not his thing) and then to an Astros baseball game (definitely his thing) tonight.

I got up early and did another 2 miles this morning. So that makes 36 miles for June. I'm trying to figure out what point would be 36 miles from my house so I can have a mental picture in my head of how much walking I have done this month.

Yesterday I bought a 2 box set of dvds by Kathy Smith called "Lift Weights to Lose Weight" or something like that. They were less than $20 at Walmart. I think I will like them. The first one is a 20 minute upper body workout, and then a 20 minute lower body workout, so you can do those on alternating days or you can do the whole 40 minutes in one day if you have the time (and energy) LOL I'm gonna try to do either 20 or 40 minutes tonight and see how it goes. Leenie? is this the dvds that you got recently? have you been doing them? I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to keep up the first few times, but we will see.

Hey I get a GNC magazine each month, and in it was a great story about a woman who changed her life by eating low carb. She has a website at www.trulylowcarb.com I just checked it out and it looks pretty good. Thought I would mention it in case anybody wants to check it out. Especially thought of you Leenie - might be something you would like to see.

Well gang I need to get to work, but I'll check back later.

hugs,
cathy

Good Afternoon,

Well ladies, I have been "officially" diagnosed with ADHD and depression, the doctor said even though I get seasonal depression he didn't want me off and on meds, he wants me to be on all year round, and during the summer on a low dose. I'll also be on Ridlin (sp?) low dose. Sigh. I've always suspected it but you know when you find out the truth, it does hurt.

How's everyone today? Sorry, I just feel out of it today.

Good morning ladies

It is really nice out....hot & sunny....it will be hotter later....don't know if I will like that.....have to go to Costco soon.

I put the full spectrum light bulbs in.....2 in the bathroom....are they ever bright....also one in the computer room. I started taking a supplement yesterday....they are supposed to make me have more energy....am taking 6 a day for now. Tomorrow I have a blood test for food allergies....I have hay fever & asthma......the naturopath I saw yesterday said food allergies can have an effect on mood.
I will start to take either 5HTP or Sam-e....he has to order it....should have it within 48 hours.

Liz......I hope you are feeling better soon.

Leenie.....do the meds make you feel tired all the time?....that was the problem with mine. At least now you know about the ADHD & get it treated.

Hi Ladies,
I have some favorite scriptures for you all.........they help me & I know will help you too.

Romans 8:31 "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us WHO can be against us? ( that includes people, things & circumstances!)

Psalms 27.entire chapter is awesome!

Matthey 11:28 "Come to me,all ye that labour and are heavyladen, and I will give you rest."

I must add.that I am typing these for you and I needed them too..........today at this moment.....I have some "tough" decisions to make today and just telling YOU ALL about these helped me too.

God and God's word have never failed me when I have a need........sometimes I fail to turn to HIM and to HIS word......................THEN is when I get down.

Leens...remember what you always say "Jesus loves me this I know".............

Hugs to everyone! Prayers for you all too.

Good Afternoon Gang!

Cin - guess what one of my most favorite Psalms is! yep Psalms 27 - it's awesome. I just opened my Bible and read it again. I need it everyday! I especially like verse 5 " For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling, He will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock"

Cin - I am praying for you right now that whatever decisions you are making today that the Lord will guide you and give you wisdom and peace in your decision!

Leenie - I'm sorry you're feeling "out of it" because of the diagnosis today. But you know, it just means that you have a biological chemical imbalance girlie - there is nothing you could do about that - anymore then you could if you have sugar diabetes or some other imbalance. Thankfully, you finally got the right diagnosis (even tho you have suspected it for years) and hopefully you will find the right meds to help you feel even better then new. won't that be great! And guess what, some of the meds for ADHD help you lose weight - now wouldn't that be a plus! If for some reason the retilin (sp?) doesn't work for you, they also have a newer drug called Concerta for ADHD and decreases your appetite, which causes the weightloss. Another new one is Methylphenidate, but I don't think it is time released. My oldest son takes this right before going to class and just as needed.

Leenie - I'm praying for you and sending you ((((((((((hugs))))))))))

April - I'm hoping and praying that your new supplements and spectrum light bulbs, and all of your efforts will have you feeling better and better!

now it's time for a A BIG ONE!

hugs,
cathy

Ok I just did my first Kathy Smith "Lift Weights to Lose Weight" and boy am I gonna be sore tomorrow because I'm already sore. WOW!

It was 47 minutes - 20 minutes upper body with weights, 20 minutes lower body (I didn't use any weights because my lower body already weighs a ton LOL) and 7 minutes abs.

Thank the Good Lord I can't do that tape again til day after tomorrow!

I did pretty good keeping up with the upper body routine. There is one move I have never been able to do many of, where you back up to a chair and sit down and then put your arms behind you and you push your body away from the chair and then you lower and lift your body. know what I'm talking about? I'm sure it is working your triceps but I can only do a few of those bec dang I'm lifting 205 lbs with my little bitty non existent tricep muscles. WAH those suckers are hard!

Now, I had trouble keeping up with the lower body routine. I have never done so many squats and lunges in my life. Have I ever told ya'll that I hate squats and lunges. yikes! I just did what I could. Now I gotta take another shower! LOL maybe I better soak in a hot tub instead.

I'll be up late tonight waiting on my youngest son to get home from the service at church camp again, so I doubt I'll get up and get in 2 miles, but I think I have done plenty today.

Are ya'll tired of me talking about exercise yet? I won't talk about it tomorrow ok.

hope everybody has a good nite.

hugs,
cathy

Evening Ladies…

Liz – When you say last of school… do you mean your education is completed or it’s just ending for the summer? I’m sorry things aren’t so chipper for you.

Cathyxxx – Hi there! That’s the Video set that I got a few weeks back… It’s pretty good. #2 was a bit rough for me tho… but it’s getting there… I have yet to see those WATP videos at Walmart tho I’ve been looking for them… but I got these as a starter. It’s really good tho… I used them with my weight set that I bought at Walmart as well. A 1 2 3 and 5 lb set. And YES! Those triceps where you hang off a chair and lift your body with your arms… NO WAY! LOL Those I could not do at all! I didn’t do the abs either, I have to be careful with my back. I think once I lose weight and strengthen my back I’ll be able to do those without to much fear of re-injuring my back.

Leenie - don’t let it get you down. You’ve been such a great inspiration and motivator here… just imagine what you can be like now, knowing what is possibly the cause of your problems and having the right medications to balance things out. I understand the news is rather depressing… but I have faith you will bounce back in no time! Sending my love your way….

April – I’ve been taking vitamin supplements as well, is your prescription? I’ve been taking the Centrums Womens 1-A-Day. I was told vitamins may give me more energy… I dunno… I don’t feel any different lol what are you taking?

CIN – I think this would be a great scripture as well..

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love,
and of a sound mind / 2Timothy 1:7 /

(Just remember, we’re like a family here and we love each and everyone here!)

There’s another one about Friendship in Philippians but I can’t remember what the verse is…

Alrighty ladies…you guys take care!
