My daily calorie tally

I grapple with depression and anxiety. Which has made it increasingly difficult to stay on track with food. I have relapsed into eating foods that cause gain. I need to stop the 2 month gain. I hope it's okay to start a thread in the depression forum where I can list my calories and foods eaten. Others are welcome to list their caloric intake if they want. But I really need to be doing this. <3

9/16 day 1.
No more bags of snack food puffs.... for now
Coffee 150
peaches 200
salad 260
strawberries 180
chicken with vegetables 300
this is all I plan to eat.
Total for day: 1090.

MorningGlory1950 09-16-2018 07:51 PM

flower ~ I am in the same mental place as you.

I have gained 12 pounds during a 3 week sugar binge. So I am committing to a modified no sugar, no flour program at least through Halloween to combat this intense craving.

I, too, suffer from depression. I was beside myself when I weighed in this morning.
Thank you for this thread.

Just forToday:

2% Cottage Cheese 80
Mozzarella Cheese 80
Pulled Pork 235
SF Barbecue Sauce 10
Swiss Cheese 300
Cheese Stick 45
SF Creamer 15
Salad 60
Hidden Valley Yogurt Dressing 60
Strawberries 50
Total: 935

(I know it is a lot of cheese...but it took the craving away. Tomorrow I will be adding in assorted proteins.)

flower123 09-16-2018 09:31 PM

MorningGlory I hear ya! Cutting out sugar is not easy. I have done it before. You can do this !!!
You did great with your food today. low carb. Low cal. And tomorrow you are going to try to substitute more protein and eat less cheese. I will tell you what I have for cheese. Trader Joe's low fat feta. They have 2 kinds. I buy the square, not the crumbles. Its only 40 calories for an ounce. I use 2 oz per day in salad. With my low-ish calorie dressing.

It sounds like you are taking charge. That's awesome!! And as you said "just for today". I am sure I will slip. But I will get right back on track....I hope. I am just glad and relieved that I figured out how to reel it in again....today <3

Hi Flower123  I'm always happy to see/read you! Your picture is so lovely. You've got this--sometimes it takes a while to get in gear.

thanks Sundove. I appreciate the words  how are you doing?
Yesterday I looked for your thread but could no longer find it. I wanted to put mine in the same forum area.

Thank you, flower! Wonderful words of wisdom! I am going to post my food at the end of day for accountability.
Unfortunately Trader Joe's is an hour from my home. I will certainly look for the feta when I make the trip!
Today is a new day and I am feeling supercharged!!!

flower123 09-17-2018 09:34 PM

MorningGlory So glad that you feel supercharged! Sounds like you are in the groove of commitment. :cheer: I will cheer you on every step of the way.

Today was a high stress day. I will not go into details. But it was very challenging. This resulted in eating "vegan Rob's cheddar puffs".(basically sorghum puffs with salt on them). The good news is I finally got up the nerve to get on the scale. Not as bad as I feared. Goal is to lose 5 lbs by the end of the first week in Nov. I think that is 6 weeks. If I was in a real groove and things were more calm in my life, that would be simple.

Coffee 150
vegan cheese puffs 420
peaches 220
Salad with low fat feta with BHF blue cheese yogurt dressing 250
Chicken with green beans, onion, carrot and cabbage 300
total for day 1340

Flower I'm down on the bottom of the page, in the Whole Foods forum. https://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/who...lifestyle-209/
I used to be in Calorie Counters, but it didn't fit. So I followed Magistra to Whole Foods. (I should note that Magistra was actually doing whole foods, and quite wonderfully. I'm inclined that way, but have some processed foods I'm very attached to).

Wtg for facing the scale! I'm glad your courage was rewarded by a better-than-expected number!

MorningGlory1950 09-18-2018 01:50 AM

flower ~ So sorry you are going through some stressful times. BUT I am going to be your cheerleader, too! :cheer2:
I am glad the scale was not nearly as bad as you feared! That is considered a plus in my book!!! :goodscale
Your goal of 5 pounds by the end of the first of November is certainly attainable...I know you can do this.

Mushrooms/Onions 90
Broccoli 180

This particular WOE is not working for me. I am just going back to Medifast for now.

flower ~ No sugar is good. I applaud you for your sincere efforts!

Diet Land is a sometimes full of rocky terrain. We wear the right shoes and still stumble. I think I need to change my complete wardrobe!! :?:

Off I go into a different direction, again!

morningGlory. Yes indeed, its rocky terrain until we can find a groove, as I call it. it seems you know the formula. We keep trying. No matter how many times higher calories prevail. Great that you are Going back to what worked before. Never giving up. Today, a new day.
