Hi ladies,

I found a place to rent in Washington. I found it on Craig's list. I had a friend go look at it for me. It was empty and she said it looked really nice. You never know with Craig's list though. I think it is on the up and up. The guy is sending me a lease to sign. Ill be glad when it gets here.

Jennifer is home from her European vacation. She is exhausted.

Just a lot of prep going on here. Sacking up stuff, throwing away stuff. The movers are coming on the 13th, 99.9% of my stuff is going in storage. I am taking sentimental items with me. Pictures, some of Jennifer's baby clothes (Soooo cute) things like that are coming with me.

Missing all of you.

Kathleen, thanks for starting the new thread. We love you to bits.

VermontMom 09-03-2017 06:53 AM

Lisa how exciting about your move! I always admire someone who is able to make such a big change. And all the activity that is necessary to move location, you are doing it :carrot: Hope everything goes smoothly!! and super-great that you were able to have a friend check it out.

Kathleen yes thank you for starting the new month!! I would have gone on just posting on August's, lol. We were so glad to read the nice long post you had about YOU the other week :)

Coop Hi and how are you and OH ?

and Hi to everyone else :)

Having our first rainy day here in many days, but I like to drive my new-to-me car  Not as much as loving the motorcycle but still OK :) I'll try to write more tonight. have a good day

Coop27 09-03-2017 08:33 AM

Thanks for the new thread Kathleen!

Lisa - congrats on the new place! Hope everything is going well with your packing :)

holly - we're both getting on alright :) it's the last day of my diet challenge today :carrot:

How are your eyes doing now? Everything back to normal since your op?

Aunty Jam 09-03-2017 02:09 PM

Hey all.... just wanted to say hi. Not much here has changed. Hubby has a second interview with a company on Tuesday. He's still not cleared but determined to go to work anyway. Problem is if anything happens to him before he's cleared no insurance company would cover him. I feel like he's really trying now because he wants to keep the dog. He says that's only a part of it but he also says "I'll get the job on Tuesday and we'll sign the adoption papers on Wednesday". Uh hu.

I've had something else on my mind too. It was discovered last year that I had uterine fibroids. Huge ones. I did medication which reduced them but I couldn't tolerate the meds very long, they triggered my autoimmune issue. So now I have the choice of having an uterine fibroid embolization or a complete hysterectomy. Fun times. Both have good and bad points and both sound really painful. Either way it won't be fun.

(Just a side note, maybe it's petty but this dog is driving me nuts. I love her, I do... but she's just not that bright. And after years of training border collies it's making me nuts! I had to show/tell Chase and Snoop things maybe twice and they got it. Stella still doesn't get most of the things we've shown her and it's been over a month. She makes up for some of that in snuggles but I'm at my wits end... is that sad and petty?)

Aunty Jam 09-03-2017 02:37 PM

And now I feel terrible for saying those things about her. We all want to be accepted for who we are right? Dogs should be no different. Besides she is an absolute loving snuggle bug. A few nights ago I was laying in bed crying, just depressed and missing Chase. And she came into the bedroom, licked my face and laid down snuggled into me. Sweeter than sugar this dog.

I cried over dogs a few times this past week. The rescue we adopted Snoop from contacted me and asked if we were ready for another dog. They had a dog being returned from its adoptive family because it "wasn't working out". She thought this dog might be a good fit for us. Problem #1 is The husband (" no more border collies!!!!") problem #2 is Stella. I bawled at work when I got the message, I was so torn. Guess what the dogs name is........ Chase. I almost died. i highly suspect she got the name from us. He's a beautiful boy but I could never have another dog named Chase. There is only one!!!!!

And now pathetic not so little me is going to go cry over dogs again.

VermontMom 09-04-2017 09:38 PM

Aunty Jam, man I am so sorry you are having such a hard time :( Stella can't ever be Chase, and guess she is not as clever and quick but she loves you! the way you described how she sensed you needed comfort and she was right there for you. I don't know what to say about the husband situation, best wishes!!!!

Coop, congrats on finishing the 30 day diet challenge yesterday! :carrot: Now what is the next step?
And my eyes are fantastic, thank you!! I try to be grateful every day. I don't even wear contact lenses anymore. First time since 10 years old, that I'm not wearing glasses or contacts :hyper: I do have the worrysome thing that the doctor told me, Fuch's Syndrome, that might lead to corneal transplant down the road..but I won't worry about that til it happens. It is just SO very awesome that if I wake up in the night, I can see the nightclock. When I wake up in the morning, I can see anything. It is flippin great!!

Hi Lisa, Kathleen, JesikaBeth, Monica, and the newbies who just joined recently.

Yesterday was so cold and rainy, it seemed like the end of warm weather forever! I was chilled! but then today was sunny and warm and I was actually too warm in the sun when I was doing yardwork. I hope so much we have an extended beautiful September and into October, we deserve it because our summer was not the greatest. We still need mild weather for all our green tomatoes to ripen!!

Made some good money working extra hours for the RB's store Friday, Sat. and Sunday afternoon after my other job. Next thing to save up for will be some good winter tires for my AWD car :carrot:

Lots of grumbling at work (at the good place!) because the chef of 23 years is most probably retiring from there; and the front of the house MEAN biotch lady says she is leaving but she's played that before...they are bad mouthing others and I don't like to hear that at all! I just want to be in my nice kitchen, doing my job in my own personal joyous bubble! doing my best to not let their negativity bother me.

have a good night!

HI Holly,

I don't feel like I'm doing anything great. I know I'm I'm moving a long way but it's not like I don't know where I'm going.

I've pulled some boxs out this morning and went through them. I am separating my stuff, one box for Jennifer, boxes I'm taking with me, and boxes im putting into storage. The cats are thrilled I am making room in the living room closet. I'm having elbow trouble so pulling out boxes are tricky.

I rescheduled my knee appt. It's Thursday at 2 pm. Will probably get cortisone shots in both. They hurt like a *****.

I still love my car.

Here is a couple pics of the inside of my rental.

Coop27 09-05-2017 06:15 PM

holly so glad the eyes are doing so well! It must be great to not need glasses, I'm so jealous.

I hope your summer lasts a little longer, it's been a really rubbish summer all over the place.

The next phase of the diet is to reintroduce foods slowly - I had some rice and a bit of chocolate yesterday and some flapjack today. I need to keep an eye on calories and portion sizes, so hopefully I'll lose a bit more weight too.

Coop,
I wanted to apologize to you. I did not respond to your post, I am so sorry.
I am making some progress in sorting. I'm going to pull out a couple more boxes tonight and go through them.

My house fell through, ladies. It was a scam to get my money. They guy did not even own the house, someone else did.

Good news now, I have an apartment lined up. This one is on the up and up. :)

Much love to all.

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry you were scammed! I hope he didn't actually get his hands on any of your money? Why do people do these sorts of things

There's no need to apologise, I figured you were busy :)

Coop27 09-07-2017 04:25 PM

aunty jam did your hubby hear anything following his interview? I know it's silly, but I hope he doesn't get it (or that they can delay the start date for him). I hope things are easier with the dog now. Sometimes it's a case of how old the dog is when you adopt it - sometimes they are a bit stuck in their ways and used to what is expected of them.

Coop27 09-07-2017 04:44 PM

Ladies, I need some ideas! I'm getting a bit frustrated and emotional lately and I think I need to get out more and meet some new people. I've been a bit of a hermit since my mum died, mostly because dealing with people is exhausting. I don't know that many people here anyway, so I need to figure out some activities that would get me out the house and around people - what do you think I could do?

Coop,The first thing I thought of was the library. If you like to read, its a great place to go to and just get out of the house. Plus it gets you around people but yet Its quiet.

Hey ladies :)

Lisa oh jeez so sorry to hear the house deal fell through (and that I'm days late in being here) but VERY glad you have an apartment lined up. Did you get a shot in your knee to help? and sorry to hear about elbow pain too, not good when you're trying to move stuff is it.

Coop except for work, I do nothing social either! well, hardly. We have our motorcycle meetings, and I volunteer for our town's fire department auxiliary. I guess the first thing people advise, is to choose to be active in something you like whether its volunteering, or attending classes on some interest? It is definitely SO hard to meet new friends when you are an adult isn't it! so different when you're a kid..."hi, wanna play?"

Hi to Kathleen, Monica, JesikaBeth, Aunty Jam!

I have today off :carrot: and it's nothing but blue sky and sun!! :carrot: after almost a week of on/off rain. Looking forward to getting the lawn looking good. One day off a week is not enough to get everything done outside and in but I do what I can. At least I got to ride to work yesterday too!! :scooter:

Thanks! I did join meetups a while ago, but I don't have the confidence to turn up for half the events. I've joined a draft group though, so I'll try going along to that for their next meetup in October.

I'm tempted to join a walking group to get some fitness in as well, but it's the old catch 22 of not being fit enough!

What sort of meetups have you signed up for?

Yeah, I wish my job could be a bit more social. They're decent people, but I work with mostly men, and they spend all day talking about football and cars. My car chat ends at "it's a pretty colour!"

I'll have a think for volunteering ideas, most things I come up with are solo (dog walking), but I'll keep thinking.

It was a lot easier as kids for sure!

:D that would be the extent of my car talk also! :D

I wish we had a proper living room for guests for simple things, like card playing, or board game night. simple fun!

I spent a LOT of today outside because the yard really needed attention. Over a week of on/off rain so it needed weed whacking and mowing, and the flowers needed trimming and love talk from me  3 hours for the whacking/mowing, 2 hours of moving plants around and such..but it looks SO nice and when I have coffee outside tomorrow morning I will be digging it so much. My knees are hurting now though.

My husband had great news from the doctor today, no longer considered diabetic :carrot: this from losing almost 50 pounds since mid-June. He NEEDS to do some physical workouts consistently though and he knows it.

I called my doctor this morning, he is away but got his nurse/assistant. She is not allowed to prescribe but is pretty sure the doctor will say Yes to me renewing that diet pill prescription. They worked magic for me!!

lisaloveshearts 09-12-2017 08:39 PM

Ill try to do some personals tomorrow night. Tomorrow morning is moving day. I have a plan....I think.

The house is a mess but I'm hoping the guys can help me sack up old blankets and things that need thrown out.

Wish me luck, please. I really need your thoughts.

VermontMom 09-12-2017 09:00 PM

Lisa thinking of you! and wishing you luck and ease tomorrow on moving day!!

lisaloveshearts 09-12-2017 11:46 PM

Hi Holly,

Thank you for the well wishes. I'm going through more boxes, the same ones i did when I moved in here. I've thrown out lots more of Jennifer's papers. Mostly practicing her writing, abc's, cursive, etc. Hated to but there were just Soooo many practice writing papers, I didn't have a choice.

I kept her art paperwork and papers where she drew pictures of me or her or other family members.I also came across lots of cards from grandma Eva. (Doug's mom) she is still alive but has severe dementia. Its very sad.

I came across letters from my mom, to Jennifer. She would have been very young at the time.

I want to make sure she has things she can look at and remember just how much her grandmas adored her.

I also gave her old pics of me, senior pictures, childhood school pics, etc. I don't want them.

Elvira got groomed today. She is soooooo soft now and no longer stinks.

Ok, I'm hungry. Ill see you all tomorrow.

Coop27 09-13-2017 05:07 PM

Lisa I really hope moving day is going well, and you get settled into your new house well! I'm keeping my fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed for you!

Thanks, coop. You are so sweet.

It went well. What I am not taking with me is in my storage unit. There was plenty of room in the unit for everything. Just glad this part is done.

Ill fill you all in on what is next, at a later date. I am beyond exhausted mentally and physically, esp physically. This old woman just can't do what I used to be able to do. Lord have mercy.

Ill have to do personals another time, maybe tomorrow.

Love to each and everyone of you.

VermontMom 09-16-2017 06:16 AM

Lisa You rest and come here when you feel up to it :) Going through all those saved papers was a labor of love, so nice that you wanted to keep evidence of your family's love for your daughter :) Glad Elvira is sweet smelling now :D

Coop how are you??

and we haven't heard from JesikaBeth since the hurricane have we :?:

and HI to everyone else!!

We are having real summer weather NOW! sunny and warm! I'll take it  but very foggy out now, hope it clears a bit before head out on the bike to work.

I am up earlier today, because after my regular work at teh Club, I was requested to fill in at the RB's for 3 or 4 hours, I will be getting my Premium Rate pay for sure

I called the doctor's office and asked if I could have a refill on the diet pills? and got the message that I have to come in for an appt. first. Bleh  that means I have to decide if paying for the doctor's visit is worth one month of diet pills.

have a great day!

lisaloveshearts 09-18-2017 08:08 PM

Hi holly,

I hope you are well.
The movers are coming back on Thursday to load my uhaul. Probably taking off the next day.

Soooo much to do. I had to get 4 new tires today, the old ones had cracks in them.

I hope you all are well. Miss seeing all your posts.

VermontMom 09-18-2017 09:38 PM

Lisa - Moving takes so much work! and then taking care of your car too. Hang in there!

HI to everyone else!

We are STILL having day after day of sun and crazy warmth! day after day of 80+ degrees, with sun, our tomatoes are finally getting red :D and I am just reveling in the summery-ness. :sunny:  :sunny:  :sunny:

I invited our 3 remaining Slovakian workers to our house today for a cookout, but they had to work. Then they asked if husband and i would come to the Club instead (where they live for the summer) to hang out tonight, and we said sure. THEN they said 'well let's change it to tomorrow night' and we said OK. THEN they said 'oh why don't we just visit you tomorrow afternoon' and I said YES  Thing is, I went out and spent over $60 this morning, for stuff to host them here :( (party paper products, food, soda/beer/ice, you know) but I guess I'll use it all some other time, and put the party type foodstuff in the freezer.

The only good thing about expecting guests, then the guests don't come, is that your house is CLEAN and your lawn looks great! for one or two days.

Need to change my ticker, I am up a couple pounds to 150.

hope to hear from others soon!

IBelieveInMe2 09-18-2017 10:26 PM

Checking in! Sorry it's been so long.

Lisa: Was this your BIG move? As in to Washington state? Please fill me in when you get the time and energy! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Holly: Happy to hear that you are having some late summery weather! :sunny: Hold on to it for as long as you can! I am so sad that summer is ending... :( That is awesome news that your husband is doing so well that he is no longer considered diabetic! :)

Coop: I think you are finished with your diet challenge by now. So what are your food plans now? And how is the OH doing with the new eating plan? I guess my suggestion to you about socializing would be to volunteer somewhere doing something you love. You mentioned dog walking. What about your local humane society? Or is that just socializing with animals...lol? Best of luck to you with whatever you decide on! :)

Jessica: Please let us know if you are okay!!! We are worried sick about you since the hurricane was out your way and we haven't heard from you since then!!! :(

Aunty Jam: Sorry to hear about your uterine fibroids. :( Good luck deciding on the best course of action for dealing with them. Please be patient with Stella. She sounds like a real sweetheart. No dog is ever going to compare to Chase. She is her own unique being and will still give you unconditional love that only a dog can give. I'm sure she is doing the best she can. It might just take her a little longer to catch on to commands, etc... and that's okay. It is what it is. Not sure what advice to give you on the hubby situation. Just know that I wish you the best!

My life is like a rollercoaster once again. One day is okay and the next day, we are on a downward spiral again. :( The stress is taking a toll on me, but I remain strong on the surface. Sadly, I am used to it by now. There is a lot of tension in my little family at the moment and I absolutely HATE it. Can't really go into details and don't have the energy to anyway. Just please say a prayer for me/us if you can spare one. We need it! Thanks!

VermontMom 09-18-2017 11:12 PM

Late at night for me but after reading Kathleen s post had to respond. SO very sorry you are having problems and tension in your family ! Yes saying a prayer 🙏 for you ! 💓 🎆 🌠

lisaloveshearts 09-19-2017 03:54 PM

Holly,

I'm doing ok. I've got a list of things that need done before I leave. I just keep plowing away at them 1 at a time.

Kathleen,

I am so incredibly sorry things have taken a turn for the worst in your home. I appreciate the fact that you are not ready to talk about it. I feel like that sometimes too, I really do.

I will most definitely keep you in my thoughts. We adore you round here. Come post when you can.

Yes, I'm leaving on Ohio in 3 or 4 days.

Take care of yourself.

Missing all you other ladies too. Post if your up to it.

EasySpirit 09-19-2017 06:24 PM

Hello everyone!

I have been loitering occasionally, but have lost several long posts, which is very irritating.

EasySpirit 09-19-2017 06:27 PM

Kathleen, I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with family issues again. I know how hard it is, and you and your family are in my prayers.

Holly, we have had a weird summer on the Cape - either hot and muggy, like this week- or really cool. We are now expecting high winds from the hurricane. It sounds like your husband has done a great job fighting diabetes; that is exactly how it effected my father - like a medical "scared straight."

EasySpirit 09-19-2017 06:30 PM

Lisa, I admire your determination and bravery with this move to the west coast. I keep thinking I would like to buy a small condo in Savannah or northern Florida, but I don't seem to have the ambition to start searching, going down alone, etc.

Coop, since moving full time to the Cape I have met and become friends with many people from going to the Y and volunteering at the library.

Hello to everyone else.

I have had a great summer, basically because I have again upped my exercise. I somehow gained weight while going down a size.

Take care everyone!

Aunty Jam 09-20-2017 12:36 AM

Hey all. Sorry I don't do a very good job of being here. Things have been shite lately. Husband and I fight and I cry everyday. It's Chase and everything. I'm sorry I'm not doing personal responses to everyone like you guys do. I do read all the messages you guys post and I sympathize but it's like I can't remember everything when I go to type.

Hubby didn't get the job but is now cleared for full time medium duty. Next week I have a baby shower, bridal shower and a wedding. I don't know how we're going to manage this. We don't even have nice enough clothes to wear to the wedding let alone gifts for all these things. I know our friends will only care that we're there but we'll probably feel so out of place.

And damn it I just can't stop crying.

Hey Easyspirit - I bet the weight is muscle!

Monica,

Yay for going down a size!!!

As for moving, I am just unhappy here. I am so ****ing bored.

Even though the drive is going to be hard, its still exciting. Out on the road driving for miles, out on the open road.

Yeah, its just time for me to go.

I am so sorry you are struggling so badly. I have had no money the past 11 years. It sucks not even being able get yourself a new outfit. I was so uncomfortable at my nieces wedding in July. My clothes didn't fit.

I wish I could be of help. It is just such a bad situation to be in.

lisaloveshearts 09-22-2017 03:34 PM

Pulling out in the morning. Anyone want to join me? Elvira will share her seat. She's only 70 lbs.

My knee has decided this is the time to cause me fits. The ER gave me pain meds but would not give me a cortisone shot.

I hope everyone is ok. Miss your posts.

That's good that your hubby didn't get the job (feels weird to say that) as at least you can now rest easy that he has medical sign off.

I had an awful time with money a few years ago. I discovered thrift shops though, they were so good I still shop in them now I'm earning. eBay can also be pretty good, but risky because you can't try clothes on first and you can't return them. Thrift shops here have become a lot more popular now, a lot more people shop in them. They're taking advantage now though, all their prices have sky-rocketed and it's not the same bargain it used to be... You can still find some good ones though. And no one needs to know where you bought anything from, you just say the name on the label or the town you bought it from.

I'm in Elgin, Illinois for the night. Chicago was ****. 3 hours of bumper to bumper traffic. I cried when I got to my room. I was exhausted.

My stomach doesn't feel great either.

Night, ladies.
