  • Quote: Jessica, I hope your test results come back all clear! It's a stressful wait.

I am waiting for results from a PCOS test myself, so interesting to find someone recently diagnosed, but I won't find out for a few weeks yet. I'll be interested in how they treat you going forward, in case I have to do it too. Good luck with quitting smoking!
Hi hun. Well I am not a good candidate for birth control bc I am a smoker. And they also treat PCOS with Metformin, which I am already on for Diabetes. I also am not trying to conceive, so, that's part of the reason why it's seeming like not really a big deal. I do have tons of symptoms though. I am part of a PCOS facebook group that's amazing, and I just ordered a PCOS supplement that is supposed to help a great deal. Best wishes to you with all of this! P.S. in the end, I talked to my therapist with my wife, and we decided against doing Chantix because of the potential mental side effects and the fact that I'm diagnosed with Bipolar, I could be walking into a bad situation... Still want to quit smoking at some point though!
  • I hope everyone is doing well today. I'm ok, have a headache, and am at work. Lots of people are apparently off today due to the Holiday, but hey, at least the commute to work wasn't horrendous like always LOL!

Have a fantastic day my friends

That sounds frustrating! At least you're not trying to conceive. I'm not either, but there is a bit of me that would almost be glad if it turned out I had PCOS, as I'd have something to blame for my weight! Terrible, isn't it? I didn't realise smoking was an issue for certain meds. Is it due to the nicotine? A lot of people I know have switched to e-cigarettes, and they've cut out smoking altogether. It does still contain the nicotine though.
  • Quote: Lisa, what is going on with your mother's house? Does your sister you are having issues with live in it, or is it a different sister? You should each get an equal share when you sell it, and you have the right to try to get the house on the market. Spring is the best time to sell a house; my siblings and I sold our parents' house in 11 days a few months after my mother passed.

Hello to everyone else. Kathleen, please let us know how your son is adjusting to school.
    Hi Monica,

My mother's house is still not on the market. My sister, that is teh one I don't get along with, is executor.

I think my brother is going ot hire a lawyer, when he gets back from Florida. My mother passed last March, so it has been a very long time. You're probably thinking, why haven't I stepped and said something? I just don't want to get in the middle of anything. The house needed some work too.

The four of us will get equal parts of the house, when it is sold. I hope it goes on teh market soon.
  • JesikaBeth,

I will reply to you later tonight. I am so very tired and cannot stop yawning. Moving my stuff out of the house, tires me. I have to take little bits at a time, rest get a little more, etc.

I'm moving stuff out of teh big bedroom tomorrow. Man, I'm tired.

    I'll post again later tonight.

Smoking puts you at a higher risk for seizures while taking birth control... I've tried the e cig before. I might give it a go again. Thanks hun. And yes, PCOS is frustrating.
  • I am so frustrated I want to cry.

My boss went out of town last week, and since then a coworker (who thinks she's my boss) has been horribly rude and disrespectful to me, knit picking at everything, and talking down to me, and bossing me around. Last week I was in tears several times throughout the week because of this. She started up again today, so upon my boss returning I spoke with him about it (today). I had already talked with her about it, and she did not respond well. I was very polite and adult/business like and she pretty much acted like a child. So yea, I'm really upset over this, so much so I have wanted to walk out a few times. My boss said let's see if things calm down tomorrow with him being back, and for me to update him tomorrow and he'll talk to her. Sigh.

    JesikaBeth,

How are you doing now? I am sorry you have a coworker who is an ***. If it was me, I'd lose my composure and tell her to leave me alone. I can get downright *****y when someone continually bothers. I have a pretty bad anger problem. I wish I could help you. Try not to walk out, perhaps if you simply told her where to get off, you might feel better.

If that person figures out they cannot control you, they might start to leave you alone.

I don't know what PCOS is?

    JesikaBeth,

I don't know much about giving up smoking. I do know that giving up smoking is one of the hardest thing a person can do. I am so glad I never got hooked. I have tried it a couple of times, but Jennifer made me promise to stop, so I did.

Keep us updated on how you are doing.
  • Hey ladies,

I went to the house again today. I sat down on the big bedroom floor and started picking up Jennifer's homework assignments from her school years. The huge trash bag her homework was in, had busted open so I sat there and picked them up, piece by piece and put them in a new trash bad. I did not want to put them in a box, boxes take up too much space in my car, trash bags are easier to lug around.

I am so sore tonight. I have to go to the dollar store in the morning, get more bags and ibuprofen. I did make a little leeway today, you can actually see the floor on the right side of the big bedroom now. I am probably going to have to go the house every day this week, if my body lets me.

That's about it for now. Have a great Tuesday evening.
  • Quote: Coop, I know how you feel - after I gained a lot of weight, I always wondered what people thought or said about me - even family members. Now that I have lost weight, I wonder what they think of my flabby skin - especially my chin and neck. And, if I rationalize, I know that some random thought probably goes through their mind, but they are all too busy worrying about our own lives to really delve into someone else's - - or should be.
It's true, I never really give it a second thought when I see someone has gained weight, you're right they probably don't either. We're our own worst critics, aren't we?
  • Lisa, sounds like you're making some progress with your house! Wow, it must be nostalgic looking back at Jennifer's homework assignments. You will get there eventually.

Is your sister living in your mom's house just now? It does seem like a long time to have done nothing with it - I hope the lawyer can help move things along.

PCOS is ovarian cysts, it's not serious, but just messes with your hormones - you can end up with bad skin, facial hair and gain weight.
  • Jessica - hope things have gone alright at work! Nothing worse than a colleague who's got an inflated ego!
  • Lisa - wow you are making progress on cleaning out the house!! It must seem overwhelming but you are chipping away at and seeing results - bare spots on the floor are victorious It must have taken SO very long to go through Jennifer's school papers one by one..only a mother would do that

JesikaBeth whew, what a jerk that co-worker is! I hope your boss actually does something about it, sometimes they take the 'work it out among yourselves, girls" attitude

Hi and to balladofsalad and I hope you come here to vent and talk if that helps you

Hi Monica and Hi Coop I hope you ladies are happy today

I called the eye surgeon yesterday, to say that I had to arrange for the surgery and what the beginning steps were? I guess I am VERY sensitive to the phone manners of people and I have to say, the receptionist was not very warm..but I won't let that deter me! she said the surgeon has to look at my records and would get back to me. The night driving is getting worse and in the daytime things are getting blurrier.

tomorrow I have to take my car to the mechanic, it is making a grinding noise that might be brakes or not, i hope it's not expensive it's always something isn't it!

Hi. Things are much better. I talked to my boss, who talked with her. She asked me into her office on Tuesday and we talked. She said she's realized she's been snappy lately in general. While she didn't quite realize the extent, she did take responsibility and apologized. She asked me to bring it to her attention if she does it again. So, things are ok. Hopefully they stay that way!!!
