Just having a bad day, wishing to just retreat into depression, want to be left alone, don't want to attempt to diet, disrespected by son, just a sad day....and can't sleep.

I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time. Maybe go out for a walk to get fresh air. It would help you to get out of the house even if for a few minutes.

Children are going to at times disrespect us as parents but you can't let them see it getting to you. Be stronge and know that life could be worse.

i'm sorry to hear it's been a crappy day for you - i've got three kids, so i hear you on the disrespect thing. just remember, though: as Mom, you get to take your time getting revenge in oh, so many satisfying ways up to and including putting his bare-bum-on-the-bearskin-rug baby photos up on the display at his wedding reception.

thank all of you for your kid replies, I am feeling better today....some time away from the worst of the negative feelings helped. I took a test for depression on psychology today website and the results were very helpful. i have a prescription for wellbutrin but haven't been taking it, and I'm going to take the prescription starting tomorrow and get back into the doc this next week. I also think I had a recent gallbladder attack so I'm going to talk to the doc about that too. So things should be getting better.

and i did get out some today. went out with son -- he's nearly 22, and I didn't bring up what he said or anything, just avoided it and tried to enjoy having some sunshine and it did help me a lot, and i think it helped our relationship. I do like the suggestion above about posting the baby bum pics at someday. That's funny.....sweet revenge.
