Default Does Weight Affect How Effective Medication is?

Hi. Not sure if this is a silly question or not. But as we play around with my mental health cocktail, I'm always curious about the dose that they put me on. I don't have much luck with getting good results and helping with my depression. They always start me at the lowest dose and it can take up to 6 months to get to the highest dose to learn that the drug doesn't work for me.

So I was wondering, does weight play a part in how effective a medication is? Should I go on the higher doses starting out because I'll always need more? I would think that if this is the case then my doctors would have thought of that before. But I'm just curious as to what your experiences are and whether you know if weight is a factor into what the dose should be.

Thanks.
