Hi there. I'm taking Paxil and yes have noticed a steady weight gain as well as a couple of other side affects.

I am currently trying to wean myself off of Paxil (easier said then done).

Other then weight gain how do you find Paxil works for you?

I was on Paxil last fall. There were sexual side effects. My Dr. said you can live with that for 1 time, but not over time. He changed me to Effexor XR I I had no problems with that.

I love my PAXIL..in fact, I have just returned to it after trying CELEXA (vivid dreams) and EFFEXOR (left me rocking on the edge)
My quality of life is so much better on PAXIL...I'm starting lean meat and green veggies for a while to see if that wards off the
weight gain.

Bob, I'm new here, but I also take Paxil. In fact my MD just prescribed it to me yesterday. I have to admit I'm not thrilled to be on medicine, but I need help with this depression and anxiety. WHAT DO YOU MEAN WEIGHT GAIN???!!! I certainly hope I don't gain weight on this. I've been gaining enough on my own that I'm trying to get rid of! I'm up to 164 pounds! That is an increase from 154 since the beginning of July!!!!! I have got to stop this cycle now, before it's too late. I am so depressed and the weight issue is just exacerbating the depression. I am trying to look at it as a new beginning. I'm starting from scratch. Oh crap. I've got to go. DH is in a mood. I've been on the puter for an hour. Got to run! Mila.
