Default Saturday August 24...DAILY

Hello Everyone,

Yes it's 3:22 a.m. and I am still up!!! Still working on the insommnia thing...not going well

Hope you all have a nice weekend ahead of you. I will be trying to get some things done around here. Since the weather is suppose to be a little cooler than the continuous heatwaves we have had, I might even work in the yard. Boy it needs it!!!

We are going out to dinner with some good friends this evening. I love doing that, but I hate having to make all the "good" choices once I am out there. Especially since I am the only one with the weight problem. The others will order some exotic seafood dish and I'll sit there with my baked fish minus the crumbs and the butter. Or maybe just a salad with some grilled chicken. They will order cocktails and I will order my water with a twist of lemon. They will eat the hot bread with garlic butter and I will sit and watch. Now, I wouldn't mind any of this if in the end there were some good results...but, it takes an act of congress to loose a pound here so it is discouraging!!!! But I will prevail, I promise I will be good and look at the big picture. I just wish my girlfriend had an ounce of fat on her and wasn't able to eat everything she wants...yes, I am jealous!!!!!! Oh, and she wants to go to this coffee house later for dessert...what pray tell am I going to do there?!!!!

"I will survive"

Have a good one~~~~~~~Meg

Default Meg meg Meg

Hi Ladies,

Meg... we need to get you too tired out to stay up late You are far too . I have lots of chores to do around my house.. I am sure that would do the trick. Each of the ladies here can offer her home for insomnia therapy for you.. we can alternate days. What do you think about my idea?

I know what you mean about the going out to dinner thing. It is a challenge. You say you are going to an exotic seafood restaurant. Well why do you have to get baked fish? Honey, if I was in a place like that and everyone around me was eating fattening and delicious food, I'd order a lobster tail!! Skip the butter, have it with lemon... oh man.. nirvana!! You can get a cocktail.. white wine coolers are about 70- 90 calories. It is all possible if you plan plan plan. Life is not life without special treats now and then. This doesn't mean this is an excuse to eat everything in sight, but you do have to live and be a normal person from time to time..not a diet ****. A coffee house for dessert.. hmmmm let me think a sec. Well, the coffee part is easy.. you know to use skim milk and either a little sugar or sugar subsitute, but as far as the dessert part.. hmmmm. Well, I would say to look at what they have there.. it might be possible they have a suitable dessert.. possible but maybe not likely. If you want some dessert, order what you want, and immediately get a take home box. Slice your dessert and only leave on your plate a few bites of the dessert and put the box away, give it to your hubby if you have to. This way you will get a taste of something yummy, and hopefully not feel as deprived.

I woke up this morning not even knowing what day it was. The clock said 7:10 and I immediately went into oh I am late for work mode and I forgot to set my alarm. I got out of bed to start getting ready, when halfway across the bedroom it hit me that this was Saturday. I can't tell you what a goober I felt like!!! Today will be chores, since my house is a PIT. Tomorrow is Trader joes for a shopping excursion and church. Hey.. when is labor day weekend this year? Is Labor day the 2nd or the 9th? I can't wait for it... I think it is the 9th and that means 2 weeks!!

Anyway, gotta get scooting.. breakfast is ready and I intend to eat it in bed.. if the kity will let me.. Hope everyone has a nice Saturday

Good morning Meg and Linda. Meg, I know about insomnia! Last winter I had it and I've never had to deal with it in my life! Chamomile tea before bed did wonders for me. Didn't get rid of it, but it helped. I bought the chamomile/honey kind cuz I didn't like it by itself.

Linda lol.. I've done the "oh my gawsh" thing on weekends too! I was laughing in sympathy, really! lol Daughter and I cleaned house yesterday, except to vaccum today. The kids and I have done housework Fridays after school for four years now, and did it help! My son, now 19, figures he doesn't have to do anything anymore, but he's moving out soon, and that's a whole different story. Since I don't want to cry, I won't get into it.

I go back to work Monday morning. I'm a special education teacher, and our province returns Monday; kids Wednesday. I'm not sure I'm mentally ready this year, but at least I am more so than this time last year I love my job, don't get me wrong. I'm just so worn out from the intense family issues and my own depression from this past year.

I like Meg's message tho *s... "I will survive". Even in our lowest moments, we are fighters, and we will survive.

Have a great day everyone.

btw Linda... Labour Day (in Canada and it's usually the same in USA) is Sept. 2 this year.

Default Good morning

Good morning Meg, Linda & judomom,

I am new here. I am 59 & married for 37 years. I have 3 grown sons. They are 34, 30 & 27. One lives here & 2 live out of town. I used to be an RN. I worked on the Children's ward & the Nursery. I quit work 10 years ago. My dh took early retirement 5 years ago.

I do find eating out a challenge. I feel you do need a treat once in a while & I try to do my best to stay in my point range.
