Happy Monday Everyone,

How's it hanging ?

Gee why do the weekends fly by ? I had a good weekend, walked about 2 miles yesterday in the park, boy oh boy was I tired LOL... and to think I used to power walk 5 - 6 miles a day, 6 days a week. Getting old sucks Had some potatoes and hotdogs on the grill yesterday mmmmmm. Eating wise, I think I did pretty good, well better than usual for a weekend so I'm happy. Small changes at a time is what I'm aiming for. I have my bagel this morning (thats my favorite if you couldn't tell lol) and for lunch nothing. They are having a huge party this afternoon for this lady who has been here for 20 years so my lunch will be at 2:00 pm...I'm aiming at the fruit, but I know I will take a sliver of cake (just a sliver ) so I will count that as my lunch. Dinner is Catfish ( ick ) I told Jim he has to soak it in milk to get that fishy funk out of it but he said oh I'll try it without the milk....ICK ICK. Anyway so I think I'm having a burger but he doens't know it .

TTYL, Love, Leens

Talking GOOD DAY!

Hey Leens it is great to hear your voice!

I had a great weekend. My 20 year high school reunion was great! We laughed and cried and told stories until the wee hours of the morning.....it was like old times.

I went to a girls residental school and we lived together for three years so we were pretty tight.....we are doing it again in 5 years...why wait 10?

Well I am going to get back on track with the "life style" and I feel great about it...nothing like seeing old friends to rejuninate a person.

Hope you are all well...great to be back!

Leens you make me smile!

Hope to hear from Linda and Legs and everyone else too!

Liz

Talking Mornin'

Hi Leenie and Lizzy and everyone else who is lurking and snooping and not posting,

Another Moanday.. moan moan moan. I had a nice weekend. Had a gf over for dinner on Saturday. We had Crab and Shrimp Salads, with tomatoes, radishes, avocados, low fat cheese, asparagus, celery, carrots, radishes, hard boiled eggs, green onions, croutons. I had low fat dressing.. she went for the olive oil. I also made garlic bread and an appetizer called chinese firecrackers.. ground turkey, cabbage, carrots, garlic, spices, all wrapped up in phyllo dough and baked. Dessert was strawberry shortcake. Yes I over did it for calories that day.. but not by a ton. Next meal was right back on plan. I added a little extra oomph to my advanced step aerobics the next day to help alleviate any damage. Sunday was nap day and movie day, cuz Saturday was all housework and chores ( I can't have company over seeing how I *really* live, now can I? )

Leens I am glad you got out and moved this weekend. The exercise really helps take the edge off my depression. I am afraid at my next doc appointment, she might advise me to take a week off from aerobics, as I have been getting some symptoms of shin splints. I don't want to stop exercising, as I love the control it has given me over my life. And Leens, one sliver of cake isn't going to derail you. Have some fruit and a small piece of cake, and maybe a piece of low fat string cheese or something. We can't stop living when we are trying to lose.

Lizzy, I am glad you had a good time at your reunion. Any good dirt you want to share with us? We won't tell.

I hope some of the new people from the other threads will join us here at the daily.. your name does NOT have to begin with the letter "L" to join in

Default Hi there

Hey, maybe I should change my name to Lippy to post here!

Every year, DH and I watch the outside female cats become preggys and after awhile we say that the babies must not have survived. WRONG! We have a least 5 that have so far. They won't be tame enough to touch, but we can still enjoy their antics.

DH had a weekend from ****. First, the ignicion(sp?) switch in the truck went kaput while he was at the neighbors. She gave him a ride home and he took the car to go and buy another one. Came home and said it would only take him 20 minutes to replace it. Came home after 20 minutes and said that another part in the steering column broke. So, I drove him over to get the truck and he managed to drive it home without a steering wheel. He phoned into the city to find that part and drove in to get it--40 miles one way! He came home and proceeded to work on it on the picnic table. While using a screwdriver to wedge it in, the part flew into the grass and he couldn't find it. Phoned the neighbor to borrow a big magnet. When backing out of the driveway to go and get said magnet, he managed to hit the big tire of the tractor and put an ugly dent in the car. He found the part with the magnet. After a few tries, to fix the thing I told him to quit for the day.

Yesterday, he finally fixed it and we started to mow the lawn or golf course as I call it. He decided to hook up the big brush cutter to the big tractor and while doing that, he managed to catch the chain in the cutting blades! He had to take it apart to fix it. Well the cutting got done but I still think that somedays, it just doesn't pay to get outa bed!

Hi Girls!!

I'm still alive (barely), just wanted to say a quick hello. Had a big celebration for my mother yesterday, her 70th birthday 50 guests. She was thrilled and we pulled off the surprise!! Cooked all day Friday and Saturday for it. Boy, I was really good!!!! Don't ask why, maybe I am just too tired to eat!!!!! Although after 25 people said my cake was delicious, I had to go and steal a mouth full from my husband

Lizzie....so glad you had a wonderful time at your reunion, they are so much fun I don't know why we agonize over the details before!!!!

Leens...keep up the great attitude...every day is a step closer!!

Linda, sorry i didn't make it to lunch, couldn't get a direct flight, I hate those lay overs!!! Sounded very yummy

Well this week is the deadline. I MUST order my dress the one I don't want to pay all that money for!!!!! I actually found another one that was $100.00 cheaper but I am too late to order from that company. I hate this, I should never have waited this long, but I held onto the hope I'd loose a few pounds. Oh well!

Have a great Monday...weather here is pretty nice. Hope to talk to you all soon.~~~~~~~~Leg (Meg)

Tippy.....welcome I changed my name to Leg for this thread, Lippy works too

Lippy...I love it!

Megs why do we agonize over the details??????? Gotta dress yet?

Linda you really do know how to host a dinner gathering...I feel more inadequate every time I hear one of your menus.

Oh there were a few interesting things that came out of the reunion but it was mostly all good...we were such a great class and have grown into a great bunch of beautiful women! I felt so happy that I went!

Have a great day all!

Liz

Hi, I have been away for some time and am not familiar with all the changes and people. So let me start out with I'm a Luckymom1. I have been on a diet for the past 8 months. In between breaking both legs. I did not gain dispite the immobility. I have started back more rigorously over the past month. I hope to meet a target weight of 150 lb. by next year. Right now I am 219. By the way, Happy Monday to Leens and everyone.

We're glad your posting with us and we can't wait to get to know you.

Liz your still on a high, stay that way girl !!! glad you had fun at the reunion. I'm not going to my 20th this year. At my 10th there were to many fat bald jocks LOLOLOLOL...who needs to see that again ?

Lippy COOL NAME !!!!!!! well Tip when it rains it pours huh. Seems to be the story of our lives I guess things could be a HECK of a lot worse. Why don't you ask your BF to help mow the lawn

Leg what color is your dress and what does it look like ? did you get my favorite color, light blue ? I'm like you, if I'm cooking and cooking and cooking, I don't like to eat it....I've been with it to long and its not apealing.........can you believe that

Love, Leens

Default Welcome back Luckymom

Hi Luckymom,

I remember your name from when these boards first started. So sorry to hear you had such medical troubles. Goodness!! The fact you didn't gain any weight is amazing.. so pat yourself on the back for that one.

Glad you are back posting.. hope you stick around. Your name starts with a "L" so you fit right in.
