Question Rescue Remedy and Serenity Formula

Hi, everyone!

I think I've struggled with depression since I was in my preteens. However, this is my first time actively seeking help for it. Among other things, I'm thinking of taking either Serenity Formula or Rescue Remedy. They are both herbal antidepressants that a few people I know have used successfully for anxiety disorders and/or depression. I'm going to make a trip to my local health food store on Tuesday.

I was wondering if anyone here has tried either of them, and if so, what your experience was. TIA!

Hi there,
I use Rescue Remedy, but as a situational thing. I'm on wellbutrin and celexa, but sometimes I need a little more. And my one daughter takes rescue remedy when she is to keyed up to sleep. Much nicer than passion flower and valerian root alone. I find it works for us.
Good luck.

Just a Dreamy1,
Hi I am Carrie and I have used Rescue Remedy successfully for 6 years. I have nervous problems and I self medicated with smoking when I had to quit I turned to the Remedy and it is a god send.
I used to volunteer at a wildlife hospital and we even used it on a parrot who was pulling her feathers out with success
When my 3 year old was picking her lip until she bled I started her on the Remedy and 3 mos later she is no longer picking her lip. You don't always notice the effects instantly (like prescription medicine) but it does help..
For depression the Bach Flower Remedies also carries Mustard for depression or you could try St Johns Wort Tea. Kava tea is most awesome for nerve problems...
Be Blessed

I am now on an anti-depessant (paxil) but I have tried all sorts of herbal remedies prior to that. valarian works, and l-tryptophan, but I find magnesium citrate and vitamin B-6 seem to really calm me down. People don't get enough magnisium they say, so it is a good thing to take. I have never heard of the specific herb tonics you are referencing.
