Default Anyone finding success with Pristiq?

My doctor just prescribed Pristiq (today is day 1). I took Lexapro for about 3 years and stopped last May. While it helped with depression and anxiety, it also caused a 30-lb. weight gain which only triggered a new kind of depression! I decided to give it a go without medication, but have found myself having an impossible time losing the weight I had gained. I have always been a relatively fit and thin person, so it's extremely frustrating to be 4 sizes bigger than usual. I've slipped into a new depression, feeling very hopeless about losing the weight. I wanted to avoid going on medication again, but I'm at the point where I definitely need some help, beyond healthy diet and exercise.

I have heard Pristiq does not cause weight gain, and I'm hoping this is true! I'm curious what other people have experienced with regard to weight gain/loss, and symptoms of depression/anxiety.

Thanks!!

Thank you! I'll check out these links. So far, I am doing okay on the meds and haven't noticed an increase in appetite. I am hopeful this will be the right med for me. Only side affect is teeth-clenching, which I also had with lexapro. I can live with that...

Not a success story on it here.

Definitely wasn't good for me.
