Default Brand New to Site. Quitting Seroquel

Hello out there. I have never posted on a site like this before. I am looking for a "buddy" to help guide me thru this journey.

I am 33, 5'11 and weight 185 pounds. I have a one year old and a two year old, so I think the pregnancies wreaked havoc on my body and metabolism, and I am trying to get back down to (and STAY!!) at 167.

After my second baby (very dramatic delivery) I suffered post-partum depression and went on Cymbalta for the depression and Ambien CR and Seroquel to ease my anxiety at night and sleep. I have read everywhere that Seroquel is a nightmare to lose, or even not gain weight on. I have just in the last few days tried to stop taking it at night. Did good last night, only took Ambien CR. Am hoping in a week or two will see some results from stopping the Seroquel.

Also, it's Monday morning and I am starting South Beach today! I have tried to start it about four times and do good for a few days, but then end up eating really bad in the middle of the night (hoping stopping the Seroquel will curb that).

Anyway, would appreciate anyone who wants to maybe chat daily and is in a similar situation - for support!!

Hi there and a big This is a great place for support.
I'm not familiar with the meds you are on. I've been on paxil for a few years and I sure know it when I miss a few doses, and I'm not even on a high one.

I wish you luck on your journey. You are more than welcome to join in the daily/weekly chat we have here as we would love to get to know you better. Plus there is an area for people on the South Beach plan. There are lots of great hints and ideas there as well not to mention wonderful people who offer great support.

Once again and I hope we hear more from you!

Take care,
K

Not to alarm you, but did your doctor know that you wanted off of seroquel? I'm on it and you have to ramp up and then to go off of it, you need to ramp down, as I understand it. I would hate for you to do some kind of harm to yourself by not ending the meds correctly and not talking to your doctor.
Good luck with everything!
