there are a lot of different generics out there, by the way. I asked the pharmacist and she said that they will give you the cheapest generic unless you ask for them not to, because they make more money off of them?

Nice huh?

I recently came off Wellbutrin and am on no antidepressants (yeah!! I had been on them for years)

At one point, I was on Effexor and I gained a LOT of weight. In fact, that's when I got up to 180 lbs. When I started Wellbutrin, I had a little trouble adjusting, but in a few weeks, most of that went away. I did go to the generic with few problems. It was a great appetite suppressant and I lost all the weight I had gained on Effexor, and then some. But it did make me a little hyper and I needed something to help me sleep for about two months. I still felt a little hyper after a couple of years on Wellbutrin and I worried about my concentration, as I was about to start school at the time. When I went off, I didn't have any problems with the depression that nutrition didn't cure, so I told the doctor, and he d/c'd it.

Now my mom can't take it, even after trying it for a couple of months. So it doesn't work for everyone. Still I'd say, give it some time.

I have been on Wellbutrin for 7 yrs now. I have tried other meds, but none seem to have the positive results with little side effects as this one does. i would agree with the previous poster about waiting around a month for your sleep cycle to return to normal....it takes time. I hope that it works out for you and if you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them!
