Default Weekly Chat - August 6-12

good morning gang

thought I would go ahead and start a weekly thread since no one started it yesterday.

How is everybody doing?!?!

did y'all notice that today is Leenie's birthday!?!?! be sure to post a message to her on the birthday thread.

My life has been absolutely nuts. There are 4 of us at our house, our boys are college age - and we all have our own vehicles. Well last week my son's truck died and then my car and both of them can only be fixed by putting new engines in them and that is $$$. We drive our cars until they won't run any longer and had almost 200,000 miles on both of them. Anyway, it has worked out for me to buy a 2006 Mazda3 from my niece and it is VERY nice. black and sporty and gets great gas mileage, but we are still trying to figure out what to do for the son that needs another vehicle.

So my days have been full of vehicles and financing and paperwork and fun fun fun ;-) besides all the regular things that keep me running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

Ok well that's just a little update of the fun we've been having ;-)

what's everybody else up to?
hope everybody has a blessed day!
hugs,
Cathy

Wink Hi Cathy

and everyone else

Not much new around here. It's out there..Praise God for A/C!

I've been struggling with my eating plan (WW flex/points) since we took a mini vacation last week. We went up to Savannah and did some fishing on Tybee Island. It was fun..but we ate TOO much . I've also been having problems with my pain level at night. Pain is one of my eating triggers..so I've been doing a lot of late night snacking. I recently found some seated full body workout routines on the internet. Now to get some motivation to exercise. I should have it later today..it's weigh-in day!

Hope everyone is having a great week.

P.S. Leenie: You need to tell you need more help..call it a birthday present

Hi everybody,

Looks like we will be getting the 2 pomeranians. We went to see them Monday and had our home visit on Wednesday. I had cleaned frantically all day! They are scheduled to be spayed next Thursday and have their dental work done and then I can pick them up from there. We spent most of the day today getting new pet beds and food and toys. I can't wait to bring them home. I'm actually looking at one more from a different shelter, but I'm not sure she is still available.

Leenie: Hope your birthday was great and not too busy!! Happy Belated!!

Homebound: Don't ya just hate getting back on plan after a nice vacation? Good for you with the seated workouts! Sounds like you are having our weather too. It's been over 100 degrees the past couple of days.

Sassy: Glad to see you posting again. Hope the work situation is getting easier on you and hubby.

Heather: How you doing? Still running and taking care of your mom?

Buddly: miss you!

Cathy: I feel for you and the car trouble. We put about $1000 into mine this week. It's got about 145,000 on it now. Still cheaper than a new one, right? Maybe when I get a new job I'll think about it.

Morning all -

Things are rotten at my house - it never rains but it pours and all that... the husband and I are trying to hash out a separation agreement, which just makes me want to put my head down and bawl... my mother returned to her own home, but calls me every single day to complain about her life... and yesterday, just to top off the wonders of my world, my father had a stroke and is now in hospital trying to get his left arm and leg moving again.

It's feeling quite tough to keep positive, but the one thing I WILL NOT do, is give up on myself. I am still running (5K, four times a week), doing my strength training 2-3 times a week, and keeping my calories at 1500-1600. I can DO this... yes, I can! I should be more focussed on the camp (this is the end of week one of two) but I just can't muster up the enthusiasm for it

I hope everyone is having a better day than me; this is not an invitation to a pity party, so no nice comments are necessary! I know you all love me anyway - ! (that's why I tell you this stuff! )

- there, now *I* feel better!

Heather

Heather
So sorry things are so rotten right now. I hope all can be worked out, one way or the other. I admire your resolve to try and stay positive. I don't think I would have it in me. That just shows how strong you are and are becoming daily. I'll be thinking about you and your parents. How tough! Your husband is losing a great gal and she is getting better by the day. Hang in there and just remember that you can always come here!

G'morning,

Joanne, I have the same problem, every time I go off of a plan I have such a hard time going back on....your not alone. I'm sorry your in such pain but I can surely understand why eating is comforting...it seems like I eat no matter what I am feeling. Did you start yet with the exercises? what are you doing (meaning what kind of exercise).

Heather you are such an inspiration. I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, he is in my prayers and you too girlie. Hang in there and know that you can talk to us any time...k.

Cathy, hope you get the car situation solved soon....I love cars but hate dealing with them lolol and 4 to boot...oy.

Hope WOW 2 new doggies.... WTC... how old are they and what are their names...how fun !!! enjoy the little pups

Sassy...how are you hon?

ooops...bbl....dd needs breakfast.

Smile Hi Ladies!

Hi Chickies!

I'm doing well, although I think I'm fighting off to not get sick. I just keep feeling blah......so I hope whatever it is, it stays away cuz I don't want to be missing any work because I'm saving my personal time for next month for our vacation, if our boss ever decides to approve it so we can make reservations that is! Why people have to wait until the last minute on things is beyond me! lol.

I've been keeping positive still. The true test will be when I go back to work on Monday night. lol. But Wed. night wasn't so bad, my co-workers really started opening up to me (that is the night I read the Tina Turner quote that inspired me to be more positive). So I am keeping positive that this coming week will be as good, if not better than Wed. night was!

We are getting new next door neighbors too. I honestly didn't realize our old ones had left! lol. I just hope the new neighbors are just as quiet. Our building is all quiet and we like it that way, esp since we work nights. But I have to stay positive!

I do think that the next door apt is cursed or something though cuz nobody seems to stay there very long. This will be our 5th set of neighbors this year! Ever since our old neighbor moved out it seems its been cursed. He was a very sweet older man who was very nice and he lived there for several years.

Well tonight I am going to do a bit of laundry so I have work clothes and then clean the bathroom. (thrills) lol. But that way I should be able to just relax tomorrow night since it will be my last night off........I got our bed stripped and washed the linens and remade it and also cleaned the kitchen yesterday.

So guess that is it about my exciting life. Try not to get overwhelmed with excitement ladies. lmao. Just teasing. lol.

Hope the rest of your Weekend is Great!

Good morning everyone

Just popping in to say Hi and that I'm still alive!
Things are all fine in my little world. I finished that three week contract and really enjoyed working. It was a great test as I've never had a real 9 - 5 type job before and I wasn't sure if I could handle it. But I did find out that working 40 hours a week and trying to do my stuff at home is to much, so for now I'd like to be working only part time. And another good note is that it sounds like they may call me back for a proper part time job later. So I'm looking foreward to that.

We are planning on going down to the coast on the 16th. Our girls are going to go to an anime convention for the weekend. So we are going to go down and spend the weekend at my dad's place. Then stop at my in-laws for a couple of days on our way back. I'm still working on the girls costumes. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just follow a pattern, but no such luck. In other words I'm going to be tied to my sewing machine for the next few days.

With the little bit of reading I was able to do I'm a little jealous of everyone and their hot weather, we've already had a couple of nights of frost. The beans in the garden are still in flower, but now their top leaves are curling. I'm hoping that the pea pods get a chance to fully develop. This is way to early for frost for heaven's sake. I'm really hoping for some hot summer temps at my dad's and in-laws. I'm not ready for summer to be over just yet.

Leenie, Belated Happy Birthday!! I hope you had a great day!

Hope, thats wonderful that you've been able to find some new pups. No allergies? Congrats!

Heather, I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles your attitude is amazing tho.

Cathy, your new car sounds wonderful. Our van is a 1997 and I worry about its age. Good luck on finding something suitable for your son.

Sassy, I hope you keep fighting off whatever bug is after you! And I hope your new neighbours are quiet as well.

Homebound, I hope you are feeling better.

Anyway I should be going. The house is an absolute disaster and those costumes aren't sewing themselves (I've been waiting)

Take care everyone,
K
