Turned me into rapid cycling, I'm not talking a day or so, I'm saying cycling every couple of hours!!!! It was absolutely HORRIBLE. It doesn't help that for some reason I seem to get some of the most uncommon side effects from meds I take (hence the 20 different ones in such a short time) and have still yet to find a combo that works for what I need. Hope it works out for you!!!!!

I can understand that, I had some nasty side effects when I upped the doses gradually...I'm sorry youve had a rough med-ride :(

Lamictal
I was on a combo of Zoloft and Lamictal for depression & aniexty. It did the trick. I am now of the Lamictal and taking only Zoloft and functioning well.
Stick with it! Good Luck! |
Hi <brand new> 1st post.
I am on lamictal, trazadone to sleep, klonopin for panic, pexeva can't remember why, invega can't remember why, wellbutrin... (bi polar rapid cycler) These are a new combination of meds that I've been on for about a year. They work really well. I have been on these with different meds but never all together like this. It is the best combo I've ever had. I know its a lot of meds but considering my *former* psych had me on more meds & in a coma/unfunctioning for last 2 years... these meds are great, except.. the weight ! I have gained 70 pounds total. So over all its alot, but I can't lose the weight until I get off of two meds (weight-gainers). I'm gonna try anyway. Cause now I know that I have given up & turned to food to comfort. Sorry to have went into all that. My mental state is better but now, my physical state (fat) suffers. Oh I have been diagnosted Bipolar Rapid cycler & everything else in the book. Not all diagnosis are correct, research * see if they have it correct. I don't leave the house now for fear of someone seeing me & seeing the extra 70 pounds. |
been on for over 1.5 years
and it has been great. Not only has it stabilized my moods but it also helped to boost the anti-depressant I am on so I haven't had to increase the dosage (and therefore the side-effects).
Hang in there - the short-term side effects should pass. If not tell your dr.; there are other mood stabilizers out there that work too. |
