i went back to the original thread and there are soooo many people that joined and posted goals. another goal for me is to check in daily to the weekly chat thread. lately i have felt so good and energized (i'm thinking fat smash detox) i have not wanted to stray off plan:)

I started my own Thanksgiving Challange but posting with you all may keep me really focused.

Beginning of the Challenge weight 196 (today)
Current weight 196
Goal weight 182

I am following quality carbs, versus low carbs and exercise 7 days a week. I am at the gym for at least 5 for a combination of cardio and weights, and have started a new yoga class (great)

Hi I could use all the help I could get. Okay, so today, October 8 is 6 and 1/2 weeks till thanksgiving. Although getting through Thanksgiving day is not gonna be easy. Anyway today I weigh 257 lbs. I would love to be 240 pounds by Thanksgiving. I don't know if I can do it, but writing it down just now gives me something to really push for. I wish us all good luck!

Hi!

I think a challenge is just what I need right now and would like to join. :D

I haven't posted since June after an injury to my foot made it impossible to exercise. Then my eating spiraled out of control. My goals, as listed in my signature, are to get back on track with eating and re-start an exercise routine.

Current weight is 177. Because I am re-starting after gaining a little over 10 pounds, I guess that's also my start weight.
Goal weight: I am a very slow loser. :^: So for now, I want to focus on behavioral goals, things I can control, rather than a number on the scale. So here goes. By Thanksgiving, I want to have lost my cravings for sweets. :devil: I want to exercise five days a week, with a good mix of cardio, strength, and flexibility training. :carrot: I plan to refine my goals over the next week or so and make them more specific.

I am looking forward to this and to chatting with everyone!

Hi everyone! Well I just got weighed in today and I'm down 5 pounds from two weeks ago. I'm a little disappointed because I was really good for the past 2 weeks with food and exercise and all I have to show for it is 5 pounds and since I'm so heavy I thought I would continue to lose more weight per week, oh well.

5 pounds is great! remember that 2 pounds per week is a good healthy rate to loose!

jcatron: do you get all 7 days of workout in? I've been doing quite a bit just walking but i haven't since wednesday...i usually take the dog for close to a mile and back, then I walk for a good 40 minutes at speed 3.2 mph, plus I walk during my breaks at work totaling 1.5 miles. I have resistance bands that i need to start using, I also use The Bean to do an ab workout in the morning.

Just curious about your exercise :) I want to lose this 10 lbs ASAP lol..i'd like to keep this goal, if my body cooperates and I continue to lose this way, I'll be past the big goal I have for January. And that *would* be something, hubby's never seen me at that size..

I Try to get in some exercise everyday. My goal is 20 min stationary bike, 20 minute treadmill, 20 minute pilates, then every other day I try to add in weights and 3 days a week I also walk a 1.5 miles (depending on the weather). I don't always get to my goal. the last 2 weeks I have been really lax on my workouts, but I try to get in at least 10 minutes of cardio. Yesterday my kids cooperated and since I really want to reach my Thanksgiving goal I worked out like mad!! I did 60 minutes on my stationary, 20 minutes on my tread. 20 minutes pilates then walked for 45 minutes after work! 145 minutes of exercise!! It wasn't all at once because my kids are good, but not that good. I did 20 minutes on my tread at 9:15, then 30 minutes on my stationary bike at 11, then 15 more minutes while my kids ate lunch then 15 minutes at naptime, plus I did pilates at naptime. It wasn't all at once but it worked for me!!!
I know I cant workout like that all the time, but I did set an exercise goal for myself from yesterday until Thanksgiving (30 days) I plan to do 1400 minutes of intentional exercise to help get me to my goal!

lol you sound kinda like me with exercise....i still didn't get my usual walking time in but last week I did start taking my morning breaks and walking then too. Today I didn't get home til 6 and that was after a trip to costco, pet club, and safeway. I was so tired when I tried to put the new harness on my dog LOL that i sat down and that was it. I did get my kitchen cleaned up though, so that's a bonus. I'll probably do some stretching on my bean after I try my resistance bands out...they have 6 great workouts using The Bean. Stressbuster is just one of them. They've even got a back strengthening one, I'll have to look at that soon....just to be on the up and up. I'm hoping to get some walking time tomorrow though. I *should* try to walk in the morning instead of in the afternoon. My ab workout is only 15 minutes or so, so I should do that before I take my honeybunch of a dog for a walk to the park.

thanx for the info though, I sometimes feel like I'm overdoing it with exercise but I know it's what knocked off those 3 lbs last week. I felt bad on friday LOl some dangerous cookies made their way into my house..dangit for school fundraisers, I'm a sucker everytime LOL....anyway the other stuff i've been real good about ignoring, I need to just make the stuff and bring it into work so it gets gone....the other stuff needs to be cooked but those cookies were already to go LOL..........ate the whole thing, over 400 cals...and i still managed to burn off 3 lbs. So i'm trying real hard this week with TOM on his way to not eat everything sweet or salty in sight.

HolyterorHey at least you got a walk in going to costco, etc. Thats much better than doing absolutely nothing. I know I have over done it the last couple of days, but I feel like I am making up for lost time from the last two weeks. But it is making a difference. I am down this week! 2 pounds from last Wed!!! I have 9 pounds left to go!
