Well ladies....no loss this week....but I finally did something for me. I start water aerobics on Tuesday and went again last night. OMG-I love it. It is so much fun, and the hour goes by so quickly. It is only 2.50 per session at the Y, and you don't have to be a member to go. So cool. I drop my carpooler off then go to class. It works out perfectly.
Two things I want to do when no longer weight challenged: 1. Buy a motorcycle and learn to ride. I love bikes! 2. Go to a water park and go down the slide without worrying about my weight. I went to a water park this one time before I was divorced. Me, exhubby, and two kids were in line to go down the slide, and when we got up to the top, you couldn't weight more then 200, and they ACTUALLY HAD A SCALE TO WEIGH YOU. I refused to weigh and walked back down the ramp. Now you know everyone had to know I weighed over 200. How freakin embarrassing. Anyway, my eating has been GREAT all week, so I hope my WI on Monday at WW will be good. Congrats to everyone on losses and NSVs. Sleigh bells ring....are you listenin'? (((HUGS))) Annie |
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting, but my home computer has died and I can't post at work. Hopefully I will have mine up and running by the weekend. I started WW this week and I seem to be doing OK on it. I even exercised 3 days this week! At the gym....
Hope everyone has a great weekend and hopefully I will be back on next week! |
Checking in
Hello chicks!
I have not been posting much, but I have read the entire thread. A lot of people seem to be doing well. I have been losing still, but slowly... at this rate I may not make 40 lbs by Christmas, but the scale is going down, so I'm not sure how much it matters. ;) For two things I want to do when the weight is off: 1. Next year it's going to be a "hot girl" swimsuit all the way. Something both cute and sexy, I want to be able to look through ALL the bikinis, not just the tankinis that cover my stomach. 2. I want to be in pictures without being scared of the camera. It seems like now, just when I feel like I look ok in an outfit or whatever, I see a picture of myself and shudder. I just started back to school, and I am commuting an hour each way. I'm scared about this sudden drop in my activity level... any suggestions on continuing the weight loss? |
Hi everyone, I've had a bad week weight wise. I slipped off the wagon last week and ate crappy and then my birthday was on wednesday so I ate out for 2 of 3 meals. And then my aunt took me out yesterday and I ate crappy again. It's been really frustrating scale wise. I know that exercise has been working because I can workout harder, longer, but the scale hasn't budged. At this point I had wanted to have lost 9 lbs but no such luck. Its a lot easier to post on the boards when I'm doing well and eating right/exercising. Its harder when I've just eaten three slices of pizza. Oh well, I've stepped up my workouts so if I can go back to P1 of SBD and stick with it hopefully the muscles I've gained will help accelerate my weightloss.
By christmas I want to: 1) Run 3 miles with my sister (who runs marathons) to look at Christmas lights. 2) buy new professional and smaller cloths (because I'll have gotten my college degree:carrot: ) 3) run in a real race |
Don't worry c laura. Everyone has a bad few days here and there, as long as you are keeping up the exercise you are still on your way.
I am quite worried about tonight becuase I am going to a big party with my friends for the first time since I've committed to losing weight and I am not sure how it will go. It is when I am with my friends that I eat the most. And I am going to try and avoid alcohol becuase I know how many calories it has but even everyone is drinking.... I am so worried I am just going to screw up. I now it may not seem like a big deal but by hanging out with my friends I am capable of completly binging and eating over 1000 cals at once. AHHH! |
Good luck, kt
I know it can be really hard to be good when with friends in a social eating situation. Here are a couple of suggestions, hope they help!
Allow yourself one "splurge" item. If it's having a sensible portion of chips and salsa, whatever. Load up on veggies if they are available... you're still eating, but not the bad stuff. Water! or unsweetened iced tea, or Diet pop... if everyone else is drinking, you can be drinking, too. Just make it a low-cal choice. Good luck! You can do it. |
Thanks alot NewDay4MeToo. I am thinking of bringing some veggies and home made hummus for everyone so I can contribute to the party and have a healthy "way out" of eating all of the regular fatty foods there.

Hey girls. I haven't been posting much lately. I've been around though. I lost quite a few lbs since TOM left.

Hi there Chickies
Hi there Christmas Chicks! Boy eveyone sounds like they are doing great. Super job ladies with the losses in inches and pounds. I can't believe how much some of you girls exercise. I want to try the turbo jam thing too...but I have a hard time with my knees...it looks fun but I worry about whether it would kill off my knees....I do some pilates but the same concern with the knees...it is **** to be old..lol...I guess it is better than the alternative though. The weather has been great here for walking and swimming...it is already starting to get cooler in the evenings though and that reminds me that fall and then winter are to follow. Exercising in the cooler weather is a pain for me so I want to get started now on something that I can do then. Has anyone taken Belly dancing lessons? there is a place near me that if offering lessons....I certainly have a belly....???
Two things I want to do: 1. I want to go to the amusement park and ride every single ride. 2. I want to go back to Hawaii and parasail. 3. I want to pose for one of those kinda naughty pictures for my husband. Lots more too but....don't want to hog all the room. Have a great day chickies....Leslie |
Okay I figured it out! I so thought it was just me! But I calculated my whole menstrual cycle & little & behold, I know now I am experiencing all this bloatedness feeling because I am pmsing!! And Im getting these ugly food cravings....Duh & retaining water! I tought it was just me...too good to be true to be into the 169! So I definatly will be having a gain this week then TOM too follow! Then a nice present...only if I'm good of course!
I think I overlooked this one because I have never really stayed so commited with eating & exercising before in my weight loss journey for so long!! So DON"T GIVE UP...YOU WILL GET THERE! But.....no butts! It's okay do be bloated...it will soon pass! It's okay too feel crabby...of course your body is a natural machine and it's just hard at work right now getting ready for you know what! It really should be a blessing for one because that's were our little ones come from...without it...no babies...TEE HEE! Okay I'm done venting! |
Leslie - I know what you mean about the worries of joints ... as I have had multiple ankle breaks and back injuries I was a little concerned too ... but you can adjust it to suit your body .. just dont bend your knees as much, you can still do the pelvic tilt thingy tho, and you dont have to bend your knees up and down too, it really is adaptable .. there are some points I just cant co-ordinate the top half and the bottom half at the same time so I just focus on one or the other .. either way I build up a sweat and up my heart rate .. and its great music to go to as well ... I dont know if it was designed for people over 300 pounds cos some of the moves are a little size interfering lol .. and I havent seen any success stories on the TJ site where they started off over 300 pounds ... still .... there is always a first time :) ... but hopefully by the time I get down to the 200 pound range I should have the routine down pat lol ..
Humm ... what do I want to do when I lose my weight?? Honestly, I really dont have anything I really look forward to doing. lol .... when I have wanted to do something Ive just done it .. never thought of my weight stopping me ... definitely wouldnt go on weird rides or bungy jump ... wouldnt wear a bikini or g-string regardless of my size lol .. Oh wait ... there is something I would like to do .... the pic on the side of my posts was taken in 2004 in London, it was one of those places that does your make up and hair etc ... I would like to do that again .. but instead of just head shots .. I would like a few other shots taken as well ... and I want to have a nice family Christmas photo as well .. and then on my 35th birthday I want to get myself a really nice outfit that isnt baggy and that shows off my weight loss (hoping for about 80lbs by my birthday in April). So ok ... I do want to do something when I have lost my weight .... but ... even if I dont reach one of my goals .. chances are I would pretty much to that anyway rofl .. for my birthday anyway :) |
Sign me up for the Pant Size Challenge please. :D

Just enter one and have fun. And yes wearing something as form fitting as a swimsuit can be daunting, but it's better to put one on than to miss out on the fun. I always figure that if my appearance is that horrific, then people can always look away. If someone has a problem, then that is their issue and not mine. Not to pick on you, but your post sounds too much like the "old" me that cared too much about what other people thought. I made myself miserable comparing myself to other people and constantly worrying about what others thought of me. However, life is so much better when you say "screw it" and just do your own thing. :D |
NewDay4Me - about ya commute dilemma .. i commute 45 minutes to work each day so i can relate.. it takes a big chunk out of ya time .. ya can't seem to make yaself get up early and exercise and by the time you drive home ..ya to tired to exercise .. so what i did was find a place to exercise a few blocks from my work .. and with your school maybe there is a gym there .. i go there before i come home to make sure i don't skimp out on it from being tired .. anyways thats what i have had to do after 2 years of wasting a membership closer to home.. cause was just to tired to go there after drivin home .. i had wound down ..and couldn't wind up again .. laughs .. hope it helps
smolderingvixen- laughs.. i love that name!! anyways .. if you are interested in the belly dancin go and try it out!! have fun with it!! ya never know .. ya might find a great new career .. heh .. i wish there was something fun like that around here ..but i live in very rural area .. i would love to take yoga ..but alas.. there is no where around here that offers that .. and am kinda scared to try it at home without any kind of supervision! let me kno if ya do and how it goes!! it sounds like fun! JennyDee- i feel for ya!! laughs .. i hate the cravin monsters ..and i know mine are about 3 days hiding around the corner so this week will have its own challenge for me .. keep strong !! jus keep tellin yaself .. it will pass!! slow and steady win the race!! breathe in ..breathe out... oh and my personal favorite ... mother nature is a *itch!! ktandthesmurfs- i kinda agree with Zorak- part of a healthy life is a healthy self-image.. you are workin hard to get where you want to be and if you want do do something .. be like nike! *JUST DO IT!* easier said then done huh? but after each small step comes a huge victory for yourself .. maybe ya have a friend that would give ya moral support and go with ya on the 5K .. you will probably find a very supportive group of people there that all just want to be a part of something and have fun and you will too! as for what i want to do when i lose my weight? i want that moment that ya look on the scale and say .. i did it.. finally! no one will be ever to take that moment away from me .. as far as clothes and such .. eh .. they come and go .. but my self image .. my self esteem .. that won't go anywhere.. altho a few slinky sexy outfits and a nice pair of jeans that fit JUST right .. will go a LONGGGG way in gettin that self image feelin up .. snickers~ |
