This place is deserted!

I never know if I'm spelling that right!

Alright...I did 3 miles today according to the pedometer. That feels more accurate than yesterday's reading! I think yesterday maybe I didn't have the pedometer hung in the right place! Anyway...food was not horrible but could have been better! More veggies perhaps! Not enough water, for sure!

MsRD...Aricept can be a good thing! :) Glad it's helping your Mom! Nothing more frustrating than trying different drugs and not finding any that work or that have horrible side effects that outweigh the benefits of what the drug was intended to do in the first place!
Now watch those morning muffins, will ya? ;) Bring your own in...low fat and sugar free! I'll post a recipe soon, I promise!

Lucy...Woo Hoo on the loss, girl! I'm proud of you! Just when you think you are "stuck"...look at what happens! That is just great! Good luck at the dietician's and all! Have a good weekend even if you have to work! ;)

Chickies...what are we going to do to get this mojo started again with this group? I know the holidays are starting, but we need to remember why we are doing this and I know that the days come and go and are filled with the dreaded "Holiday Spirit" (you know your weakness... ;) ) so we have to find a way to be accountable to one another. We just have to get through this season without a gain. Maybe not a loss (although that would be nice)...so how can we do this? I need the support and I'm sure some of you do too, so let'sdo this!!! Only a few days left in this challenge. How did everyone do? Did you lose? Did you gain? Maintain? I'm curious! I pretty much stayed where I was the whole challenge! I've got this maintaining thing down to a science!!!! Now...I need to just start losing again!!!

Here's to a great weekend and some good planning for the week!!!

:hat:

MsRD 11-20-2004 08:31 PM

Hello! Anybody home? :bubbles:

Today is weigh-in day......I stayed the same :rollpin:...of course, I know whose fault it is....not enuf exercise and waaaayyy too many morning muffins. This means that if I am going to make any headway at all during this challenge, it has to be this next week. With all I have to do this week, along with the holiday, maybe I won't have time to eat.....okay, just let me go with it, k?

Julie......Chickies......we have got to get this group kicked into high gear. :gossip: This is our most difficult time of the year with all the holiday temptations sneaking up on us....we have to give each other that much-needed support, advice, and the occasional tazering. :high:

I went shopping today.......good grief, the stores are already getting insane! However, got a couple Christmas presents, some groceries ....until my legs and feet ached so bad that I had to come home (just Mother Natures way of saying......I'm tired of hauling all of this weight around).

Weather is cold and rainy here....with snow predicted Thursday. This would probably be a good time to go out and put the styro cones over the rosebushes, huh?

Have a great weekend! :)

hikein2005 11-20-2004 09:23 PM

I'm heeerrre!

Hi there MsRD...guess it's just you and me this weekend! LOL! I hear ya on getting this group kicked up a notch! I say that as I sat here just finishing a snickers bar! Ahem!! Why, now why? :rollpin: So let's make it our goal this week to keep on track, stay away from those darned chocolates (me!) and get moving!!!

I'm planning to do at least a mile tomorrow of intense walking...maybe more! Gotta get back into it...haven't done any kind of "formal" exercise in over a week now and I sure can feel it! It's been raining, raining, raining here...calling for snow this week here, too!

Where are you MsRD? Must be near Michigan if not IN it!!!

Alright chickie(s)...if you are out there...POST dang ya!!!

Hugs!

miss_elisha 11-21-2004 07:41 AM

Julie, Michigan isn't the only place that gets snow, you know!
There calling for it here in WV too on Thursday. Wonderful.

I'm here, and I'm ready to get my butt back in gear. I've got to do something. Let's work together to make it happen!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

LOL on the snow thing,Elisha! Sorry...didn't mean to offend anyone! ;) Since we call Michigan the "Winter Wonderland", I guess I think it's the only state that gets (and enjoys!) snow!!! LOL!!

MsRD 11-21-2004 06:54 PM

Happy Sunday!

Kids just left and it is quiet in the house.....dog is asleep.....I think DH is too! I ate ok today.....roast beef, boiled potatoes, salad, corn.....I did nibble on the brownies a bit. Then, for supper I took the leftover roast beef and sliced it up with some BBQ sauce and had bbq beef sandwiches.....it is such a curse to be a good cook :lol3:

Julie....yes, I am in Michigan......about an hour or so from you. I live waaaayyy out in the country, between GR and Kazoo. I don't know about the 'enjoys snow' part.....I tend to hibernate during the winter. I never understood why my ancestors couldn't have settled someplace a little warmer......barbarians! They probably made it this far and ran out of money and had to stay! ;)

OK.....we're ready for this week......it is going to be ON TRACK everyday.....working out and drinking water. This challenge's last week is going to be the best!

Sunday Night

Wow! I guessed it right! MsRD...you are my neighbor!!! Yahoo to Michiganders! But unlike you, I welcome the change of scenery every 3-4 months in this state, particularly seeing the first snow flakes fall!!! ;) :D You are too funny! Maybe some day we will meet up with a 3FC reunion! :) Hope you got those rose bushes covered, chickie!

My day was ok in regard to food. OK...well, it could have been a LOT better...but then, it could have been a LOT worse! :dizzy: DD and I made banana muffins tonight! She started peeling the bananas before I could say "NO"!!! LOL!! And...I had a couple of cookies at coffee time at church today! But other than that, it's been ok. Not real hungry, so that is good! But of course, that comes from not doing any exercise...again!!! UGH! I have no excuse!

Took pictures of DD today. I am going to resize a few of them and put them up for you all to see and enjoy! She's pretty darned cute if I do say so myself! (Proud Mama!)

This week is going to be an improvement over the last couple...I promise! Hold me to it, chickies...no more excuses...the chocolate is going away and I am going to walk in the morning...rain or shine!

hikein2005 11-21-2004 10:19 PM

A few more! These are ones hubby took in the studio today! She wanted her Lion King animals in some pictures so she helped hubby set up the set for that one!

Hello Peeps

Well not a terrible weekend for me. I didn't do any exercise but I didn't totally mess up the calories any of the days. I went to the doctor on Friday and she weighed me at 63kg which is just under 139lbs so I guess I can say I'm officially under 10 stone (140lbs!) now. So I've at least lost some weight this term (22lbs now).

I went shopping on Sat and I got a mini skirt, I might not be quite slim yet but I reckon you have to live for today a bit! I'm getting my hair cut today which is very exciting (I love getting my hair cut) I'm getting it done by a trainee at a posh salon so it's only costing me £10 ($21). I have loads of work to do this week though. Not least because I spent the weekend chilling with my bf.

I don't think I'll get to exercise this week, I just have SOO much work to do :( but hopefully I'll find time next week and then after that I'm going home for xmas and I shouldn't be as busy so I should be able to do lots of exercise.

Jen- Hi, hope you've got a new job!
Elisha- Glad you're back on track
Lucy- Wow over 5lbs,fantastic
MSRD- Hope you have an ontrack week!
Julie- aww your daughter is beautiful, bet you're really proud

Dill

Morning chicks!

Motivation level: 4

It's hard to be motivated to eat well when Thanksgiving and Christmas are so close!

The word of the day is: STRESS

I have got so much to do, as I'm sure everyone else does too at this time of year.

I guess the main thing is to just keep trying again every day.

Today, I will be healthy. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will all be healthy foods that provide vitamins, minerals, and the right amounts of carbs, proteins, and fats to keep me satiated and strong.

Of course, we're out of regular coffee, so this morning it's decaf, and lemme tell ya, the lack of caffeine is not helping. I'm already getting a withdrawal headache. Eesh.

Anyway, have a great day, chicks!
~Elisha

Hi!

I'm here guys! I have not had hardly any computer time lately. I have a herniated disc (lowest one) in my back, and sitting is so painful. Computer time is almost impossible, unless I've had a pain pill. And, no, I won't whine about my back...it's getting old hearing MYSELF talk about it! I just wanted to let you guys know I was still among the living  .

Where in the world is everybody else? Hope you are all safe and happy. The holidays are such a hectic time!

Elisha - I hear ya on the stress thing! Hope you have a good day, and get everything accomplished that you need to. Take care of yourself!

Julie - Oh, that Kayleigh is just beautiful! I know I've said it before, but she really, really is!!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures! Hope you have a good day girlie!!!

MsRD - Hi! Oh, I would give anything for some snow here! My kids hope (in vain) every year for just enough snow to scrape together a pitiful little snowman!! LOL!! It's amazing...when I was in high school, we got a foot of snow a couple of times...and even had a terrible blizzard once. But now we rarely get any snow! Oh well!

Dill - I'll bet that mini skirt is really pretty!!! Good for you! Sounds like you are doing well and I am glad!! :)

Eating is decent for me. I can't drive, and DH has been in charge of groceries and food! His idea and my idea of healthy eating are vastly different!!! But, I'm doing o.k....just dreading the scale a bit!!!

Have a great day all of you!

lameducklucy 11-22-2004 01:50 PM

Hey all! :D Lots of stuff going on, here!

Friday, they starting jacking my hours around at work, and then told me that my customer service skills needed "some work." Yeah. I get a positive customer comment card there about every 8 hours. Of course I need work. *note sarcasm here* I'm the most annoying, rude snot they've ever employed. *snort* WHATEVER! And they were basically just messing with me and then yelled at me about my sales for the week not being high enough. WEll, you FOOLS, that's what happens when it's a slow week and you put FIFTEEN PEOPLE IN ONE DEPARTMENT!!!! Augh! So I quit.

I start not today, but NEXT Monday, as a data entry person where my hubby works. It's a temp job, 3 weeks or so, but it pays $20 per hour, which is fine with me. YAY! So that was weird. :D

Got lots of xmas shopping done this weekend. Most of the gift baskets are totally taken care of, and I've got a little bit for my sis, my mom's totally done, and my dad is totally done. I got a few good things for my hubby, too. Other than that... yep, that's about it.

Julie - SO cute! You're so lucky to be with a photographer, my dear. Family photos are never going to be hard to get for you guys! :D She is such a cutie!

I am going to be baking/cleaning/cooking today. I'm making my dad's xmas gift at the moment -- he sells the best smoked salmon in the WORLD. I am dead serious, by the way. So he's going to obtain a business license after all these years and sell it at farmers' markets and whatnot, of which there are many around here. My mom said he wants business cards, but can't afford 'em. I have 200 glossy, embossed-looking, homemade business cards for him. The ink really gives that embossed look, which he'll be very happy about.

Food has been pretty good lately. I'm not working out at the moment because my foot hurts like ****. Going to doc tomorrow to hopefully resolve this crap!

Well, that's about it here! :D Hope you chickies have great days!

MsRD 11-22-2004 07:59 PM

Evening all :flow2:

I had an absolutely great day! We were so busy at work, :dizzy: the time just flew by! At lunchtime, I ran to the store and got 2 dolls for the DGD Christmas....and both were on sale! After work, I stopped at the grocery store and picked up the turkey and assorted necessities for Thursday......turkey was 37cents/lb!

Julie.....don't get me wrong, I do love the change in seasons......sometimes I just lose my sense of humor :headache: during an ice storm/blizzard commuting 30 miles to work. The pics of your DD are beautiful.....no wonder you are so proud!

Dilleight.....good job on losing weight this challenge! As for the mini-skirt.....honey, if you got it, flaunt it!

Elisha.....I love your 'keep trying every day'. That has got to be the key.....we cannot give up. :cheer: The goal is too important.

Lisa.....so sorry to hear of your disc problems. :balloons: You take care of yourself, and check in when you can.

Lucy Kitty.....Congratulations on having the courage to quit your job...:comp:..hope the new one will be less stressful for you (and being off your feet will be a plus too). It is so sweet of you to make business cards for your dad......he is going to love them!

Food today was great.....so far. Breakfast was oatmeal & milk & tea......lunch was ff pudding and apple and water.......mid afternoon was graham crackers......dinner was bbq beef sandwich and tossed salad and orange juice. Then I had a handful of cashews afterwards......aren't they supposed to be good for you? If I can keep the snacks healthy tonight, :crossed: I will have it made.....for today.

lameducklucy 11-22-2004 08:24 PM

Msrd - Thanks! I hope my dad likes 'em... I'm pretty sure he will. :D Good job on the food today! I wish I'd done that well...

Well. So. It's 5:20. My hubby is leaving early *gasp* (**** has frozen over?!) because he doesn't feel very good. (If you don't know... my husband has NEVER been to the doctor in his life, aside from his childhood immunizations and being born. NEVER.) He's working from home for the next 2 days, which is awesome for me, and for him.

I made some cookies today, another batch of some that I kinda messed up the first time around, and watched some tv. I DID manage to drink a bottle of water, though! That's kind of my high point so far.

My calories have come in at around 300 so far. I just don't feel good in general -- like a halfway-attacked cold status or something. Just icky. So I didn't really eat anything yet. I'm making something or other out of 6% fat ground beef for dinner, that's for sure! I might make a big pile of meaty spaghetti. It sounds healthy and warming and yummy. Yep. That's what I'm gonna do RIGHT NOW!

And I promise that I will also eat a healthy snack after my healthy dinner, and that the healthy snack will be a Luna bar, probably peppermint stick flavor, and I will have had a better food day. :)

I wanted to fess up, chickies. Hope you're all taking good care!!!
