  • Its been a month and a half since I've posted here and have made no progress! My weight is creeping up and still no exercise.

We are having a neighborhood yard sale today so I plan on exercising starting on Monday. The diet can start today.

I still haven't made the bean salad because it makes a large amount and there was no room in our small fridge. When you have a small kitchen the fridge has to be small, too. Its probably medium size but I would love a huge one. No room. Im planning to make it in a big container then put a smaller container in the fridge and the rest in the freezer in freezer bags. Im not sure that will work but ill give it a try. Thats the only way to find out. I don't want to make tiny amounts.

I have been tracking food for years in My Fitness pal.. If I notice a certain food is,raising calories or carbs I cut back or out altogether. I used to also track minutes of exercise, blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight each day in a notebook. I was obsessed back them. It did help keep me focused.

Well, our yard sale is starting.

  • The yard sale was a waste of time. We sold 5 items to 2 people for $85.Not a total loss but we've done so much better other years. This is an annual neighborhood thing. Most of the stuff left is in the car to be donated to Goodwill.
  • Wannabehealthy I am glad you checked in! Keep checking in if you can, maybe it will get you "back in gear" to start losing weight again. We basically have to keep watching the calories or we will gain our weight back, and if we can keep them lower (as you know) we can lose some too. Basically I feel I am in maintenance. In the past year I have been at 150 give or take a few pounds. My very lowest has been 145 and that has happened twice. I swear each time it lasted a day or two. LOL I think the calories are too low to maintain that weight. I think my "goal" is be below 150. Somehow 149 or 148 sounds way better than 150.
    Don't be a stranger!
  • I agree that 149 sounds better than 150. Its,weird!

I am still watching calories. Several online calculators, say I should eat 1600. No can do! To continue losing 1100 is good. I can do lower than that but not consecutive days. 1100 on MFP allows for going a little over as MFP is not exact. You can enter a food and get wildly different answers.

You have lost a lot of weight and are now doing a good maintenance. My goal is to follow in your footsteps. I would be happy at 150 but ecstatic at 135.
That is my ultimate, dream goal. Thats a lot to lose but its not impossible. I know I can do it, a once I set my mind to it! Probably not by the end of the year but I will get as low,as I can by then! I was 137 on my wedding day in 1981 but 217 on the day of my heart surgery in 2008. One time I tried on my wedding dress and got stuck in it and hubby had to help me! Yikes!
  • Weight is down 2.2 lbs today to 181.2. Temporary bump up!

By the way, the online calculator says I should weigh between 110-123. The lowest I've been as an adult was 122 after my first diet at age 21.And I only held that weight for a day or 2. I think that's a pipe dream now. I will just do the best I can from now til Christmas. A few years ago I bought a red dress on clearance with plans to lose enough to wear it for Christmas! That hasn't happened yet. Maybe this year! Its just a bit too tight.I don't know how much I have to lose to wear it.Even if I don't lose enough to wear that dress I should be thinner than I am now! I will take what I get. I carry most of my weight in my midsection.

As for the bean salad, your idea of freezing portions might actually work well. Freezing it in smaller batches could save space and give you the convenience of having it ready to go when you need it. Just make sure to leave some room in the freezer bags for the salad to expand.
  • Wannabehealthy For me, the BMI healthy weight range says 125-158. I know I would be pretty skeletal looking at 125. I am glad you are still tracking your calories. That is truly the way and I wish I had that in my hard head 30 some years ago. Live and learn!! My daughter is losing weight too. I am glad she is smart enough to learn as a teen (19)...you have to nip it in the bud before weight gets out of control or feels impossible. She's never been more than the 160's (at 5'6), but she has a fitbit and is tracking her food etc...She is very active so that helps a lot! I truly hope you get to wear that dress. It would be great to reach the goal and share the picture. Has the site fixed the loading pictures issue? I haven't shared pics because I figured it wasn't working still.
  • Hi Wannabehealthy and anyone else who might see this ! I just wanted to check in and say I am still hanging in there weight wise but have basically switched over to maintenance at this point. I weighed in at 150.6 this morning and am happy with it. I keep putting as much activity as I can vs "actual exercise" and it's working for me. I am tracking the calories, etc...and my goal at this point is to try to stay at or just below 150. Good luck to anyone still trying to figure out their weight loss journeys!
  • Hi Everyone. Sorry I havent posted lately. Im still maintaining around 180 lbs. Im still tracking calories but i was eating things like ice cream, chocolate and bread regularly which isnt good for weight loss. I quit buying the chocolate candy, and not buying the ice cream as often. DH is usually the one who buys it, and if its in the house I cant ignore it. I now buy lower carb bread and only eat 1 slice as toast in the morning. So I've cut back on carbs and sugar. Calories are around 1200+ per day,but never more than 1400. I would like to stay under 1200 in order to loose. I need to eat more vegetables for fiber. When i did that in the past my weight was lower and I felt better. My husband is a big carb eater and I tend to follow his eating pattern rather than stick to my own. When he wants pizza I eat it. But i try to stay lower the rest of the day.

Im not even sure of my goal weight. I would be very happy to be 150 at 5'2". But i was happiest at 130 so id say that is my ultimate goal, which seems imposible. I used an online calculator that said my ideal weight should be 110-123. The lowest ive been as an adult is 122 and i only maintained that for a couple days.

I will try to post more consistently!😅
