Thanks for starting up March'ss thread gardenerjoy. I am so ready for it not to be February anymore.
This month's goal will put me at the smallest I've been since before I started tracking in 2005. In May of 2005, I weighed 210. Since then, I got down to 190.2 for one day, but never lower. So the last time I weighed in the 180s was probably in about 2003. That will also move me down into the "overweight" category. I'd really like to hit the no longer obese milestone by the 18th, which is my 1 year anniversary of losing weight. So then I could say that I went from Class 3 Morbid Obesity to just Overweight in one year. SW: 195.2 March GW: 189.8 I like to keep track of my minigoals as well and I have two REALLY big ones coming up. Week One
01: 195.2 02: 03: 04: 05: 06: 07: --------------------------- Total Loss for Week One: I seem to be stuck at 195.2. I've had that exact weight like 5 of the last 10 days. I've done really well the last two days and expected I might be down today, so I was pretty surprised to see the scale still at the same point. I got a lot of steps in yesterday, and did really well on eating. Also on Wednesday, the same. So I'm kind of sad that the scale isn't reflecting anything yet. I'm thinking it might be because of my cold, maybe it is making me retain more water. Not sure. All I can do is keep keeping on and trust the process. |
Ok, let's try this again. Guess I'll try to reach a smaller goal. I just want to break 140!
SW: 142.8 GW: 139.8 1: 142.6 |
Thanks for starting the new thread gardenerjoy! Given that the last two months have been hideous, I'm hoping that March will be a little more successful.
SW: 261.5 (again...) GW: 257.5 1: 261.5 |
SW: 171.8
end-of-March: 166.8 I am going to lose 5 lbs this month. I have to ELIMINATE night-time snacking to do this! I did get on a roll a bit back with eliminating late-night snacking, so I know I can do it. And, frankly, the hot flashes have become TOTALLY TERRIBLE whenever I snack. So, psychologically, I just have to realize that all the broken sleep is directly tied to how much junk I shove down my mouth in the evenings. Sigh. Anyway, I am increasing movement this month and going to cut night-time snacking to eliminate some calories. The 5 lbs is a totally doable goal. |
I'm in and super determined to hit 180 by the end of the month.

Week One
01: 195.2 02: 195.6 03: 04: 05: 06: 07: --------------------------- Total Loss for Week One: I admit to being a little frustrated this week. I've been really on track for the last 3 days and my weight hasn't budged at all, and was even up today. I'm still really congested from this cold, so I'm hoping it is related to that, and when the cold is gone, I'll get a little whoosh, but we'll see. I'm going to make an extra effort to drink a lot of water this weekend and see if that helps flush away the lingering cold. |
Week One
01: 186.8 02: 183.4 03: 04: 05: 06: 07: --------------------------- Total Loss for Week One: I don't know how it's possible to go from yesterday's weight to today's weight in one day. Granted, I ate like junk all day on Thursday and yesterday I got back to being really strict. I did Keto for the first two months which is how I lost my first 25-30, trying to get back to being really strict with it to see how it goes. |
SW: 261.5
GW: 257.5 1: 261.5 2: 260.5 3: 261 This was pre-bathroom and I had pizza so there's some sodium to take into account. Sorry you're still sick Lacerta. It seems to be dragging on. Don't let it get you down! That's a huge drop MrsDeenz! |

Bumped up my cardio time yesterday to see if that makes a difference. Running still makes my knee swell up the next day, so I'm going to stick with the bike. Also, I ate off plan a bit this weekend. :/ Not terrible, but not great. 80% on plan. Thank goodness the Girl Scout cookies are gone.

Week One
01: 195.2 02: 195.6 03: 195.0 04: 195.2 05: 06: 07: --------------------------- Total Loss for Week One: Another day, another 195.2. 13 days and counting now stuck at 195. I might be at plateau #2. I don't count it as a plateau until I'm 3 weeks at the same weight and also no measurable inches lost. Plateau #1 lasted about 6 weeks and I was eating at a deficit the entire time. Hopefully I'm wrong and this isn't another one, but it has been 6 months and another 10% of starting weight lost and a lot of things I've read said to expect a plateau every 10% lost. I'm at 27% and still have only had one, so I'm overdue for another. And honestly, if it is, I'm ok with it. I'm in this for the long run. Frustrated with the timing because I wanted to get to "no longer obese" by my 1 year mark, and while I'm really close, it probably isn't going to happen at this point I think I'm finally close to getting over the cold. Long 10 days. I'm still a tiny bit congested and still cough occasionally, but I'd say I'm 90% over it. Thanks for the well wishes Newlyn. The 195 has been here almost the same length of time as the cold....hmmm...just realized that....coincidence? Maybe now that I'm starting to feel better, the scale will start moving. One can hope. Hubby and I went for a 4 mile walk on our Greenbelt (a long paved path along our local river through the heart of the city) on Sunday, first time in a few months because of weather. Right by the local university, we saw two baby otters playing on the bank of the river, maybe 7 or 8 feet from us. Very cute. I've never seen otters on our river before, although I'd heard they were in there. I've seen geese, ducks, deer, turtle, a bald eagle once, and now otters. |

01: 186.8 02: 183.4 03: 183.2 04: 183.6 05: 183.6 06: 07: --------------------------- Total Loss for Week One: So it seems that I can't get below 183 lbs. Going out for a long walk later today, cold weather be damned. Hoping I can at least get a 182.8 tomorrow morning. I have an all-white party on Saturday and I'm down a dress size but I feel so bloated. |
I hope your not-pleateau (? ... I sometimes think 2 weeks is enough of frustration to calculated it as a plateau!) ends soon, Lacerta.
Congrats on being down a dress size, MrsDeenz! I have not late-night-snacked any day in March! Yahooooooooooooooooooooo!! Even if this does not register on my Wednesday weigh-in, I am really proud of this! I know, for a fact, if I can control my attempts to late-night-snack, it will be so, so healthy for my maintenance! Anyway, I am trying to give myself permission to late-night-snack one evening per week, but the rest of the days, I have to NOT do it. Hoping that 1 x per week 'release valve' will really help me stay on track. |

GW: 257.5 1: 261.5 2: 260.5 3: 261 4: 261 5: 261 Still no TOM and still got all the cramps and cravings, which really isn't great. I'm eating at maintenance, inc. lots of chocolate, and I feel pretty miserable. I'm at university tomorrow so I'll get some exercise and eat well while I'm there, so hopefully I'll feel better. |
Lacerta, I feel your pain. I've been plateaued since about January 24th and can't seem to get below 141. I've been in the 140s since October 5th. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing.

Maintaining. Somehow.
111.5 this morning, which is down a bit on the last few days. I definitely had the munchies a couple of days ago and wasn't eating as well as i'd like to. Picked up the discipline again in the last two days though so feeling a bit better about it now. Work trip to India for a week from Sunday, so that's going to be a full break to both eating and exercise routines - not necessarily a bad thing - it keeps my body guessing what it might be in for next! |

(I totally don't think I lost 4+ lbs though. I think that original weight was a fluke or it was a day that I was ridiculously bloated.) |

I yelled at my scale this morning. Lol. Really, just 141.0. Can't even give me 140.8. Then my daughter and I had a good laugh together at my expense for getting so wrapped up in the number on the scale. I mean, it's just one method of measurement. While one stalls, others continue to change - muscle, bodyfat, arm/waist/leg/hip circumference. It's just harder to measure those things consistently and therefore small changes are harder to see.
TOM is back and I'm not feeling great. I think the reason I usually lose while TOM is around is I feel crappy and not really hungry. At least for the first two or three days. We'll see how the weekend goes. SW: 142.8 GW: 139.8 Week One 01: 142.8 02: 142.8 03: 142.6 04: 141.6 05: 142.4 06: 142.4 07: 142.4 08: 141.0 TOM |

I went dress shopping last week and tried my usual 14-16 but it was too big. Went down to a 12 and it fit. I put on the dress this morning and I feel like (with spanx) I could've worked my way into a 10. I can't believe I'm wearing white. |
