GW: 256 9/29: 276 10/6: 271 Crazy loss this week, which I've talked about ad nauseum in the October Weight Loss Challenge thread 10/13 273 Rebound after last week 10/20 271.5 Almost back to where I was a couple of weeks ago but I'm not sure if it'll stick 10/27 271 Back to where I was three weeks ago. Hopefully I'll start to lose again from here. 11/3 269 Post-TOM whoosh 11/10 268 11/17 266 Thanks to immensely good losses in the last two days 11/24 268.5 TOM 12/1 265.5 12/8 265 |
I was up ever so slightly this week, but given that I often gain a pound or two during my busy time at work, I'm THRILLED to be up just 0.2
With just 12 days to go until the beginning of winter, I'm definitely not going to make my goal, but I'm probably going to get firmly into the single digits and also probably down to my 60 pound mark by then, and I can't be unhappy with that. Newlyn: I went ahead and put your weights in the chart.. Hope you don't mind. I like seeing numbers filled in there, and yours are nice :) I hope you are feeling better soon. |
Also wanted to add that, of the 5 of us who regularly participated in this thread, ange has successfully maintained in her desired range, and somedaysunny, Newlyn, flower1, andI have all lost at least 10 pounds (and hopefully more in the next 12 days). I call that a successful season. Remember that if you can lose at least 10 pounds a season, that is over 40 pounds a year, which is nothing to sneeze at. Plus, this is the hardest time of year to lose, so bonus points to all.
And somedaysunny and flower1, you two are almost at your goal for the season. So extra way to go for you. |
Thank you Lacerta
I guess I'm over my slump, 278 even today, at least I hope so lol. My 5K was yesterday and boy am I sore! I made my 2 goals though, under an hour, 56 minutes 58 seconds, AND I wasn't last, there were 9 people behind me! |
Oh my goodness, I thought the 5k was today for some reason...I think because I worked all day yesterday, so today is Saturday in my head. So glad to hear it went well, great job on meeting your goals, that is a great feeling. And you are down to 278 even with your soreness. That means you made your goal for the season, :cheer3::cheer2:

yay us!!! Well done to the 10lb+ losers gang.
great work on the 5km somesunnyday fantastic to hear you came in under the 1hr mark (and were faster than a few others!) I'm still working away but should be able to get on the scales again on Wednesday. The night I arrived I went out with colleagues (and of course ate and drank too much), that was last Monday, and tonight i'm out with colleagues again, and will no doubt have a drink and a bar meal. The rest of the time I've catered for myself and been pretty good, so hoping for at least an overall non-gain out of it. Not done any exercise really though, so looking forward to getting back to that when I get home too. |
Thank you Ange and Lacerta!

back home. yay! And the scales are being nice. 111.3 this morning which is right back where I was before the previous holiday in November.
Feel like i'm back in that range too, so fairly confident its a real result. Tonight i'll go out for date night with hubby (and treat myself to food/wine), then he goes off to Germany tomorrow and i'll next see him in UK in a couple of weeks - this means that (Christmas parties aside) I should be in a pretty good situation to continue some good on-plan eating and bed down that number, until I head off to UK on 20th (and then proceed to put a few lbs back on again of course!.....) somesunnyday - would you sign up for another race some time? did you enjoy it? I used to do a few with a friend a few years ago and got quite hooked! |
I've gone ahead and started a new tab for the Winter to Spring, but I'm still working on it and I don't know how to make it private in the meantime, so hopefully it won't pop up first, but if it does, just change tabs, and just ignore it for now :)
ETA: Ok, I think I have it set up now, hopefully it still defaults to the first tab for everyone. I'll open up the challenge sometime next week, so anyone who wants to participate is welcome to put their name in for now. I really like these multimonth challenges, because they really help me see the changes in the long term, even if I don't see them day to day. |
nice one on the next challenge Lacerta. I like the long term ones too, since in theory nothing's really happening for me in the short term, but being in a challenge keeps me accountable to stick to my target range
|
110lb for me this week, so back to where i'd normally be looking to add a bit. Very happy, all is well, and the plan is to be 'good' for another 5 days til I head off overseas, and then will no doubt put a few lbs on whilst having fun at Christmas! (oops sorry, already said that earlier - anyway, it proves the plan hasn't changed!)
|
Ange I'll definitely do another one, I enjoyed it but it was just sooo cold, my lungs hurt for 2 hours afterwards lol I'll be waiting till Spring/Summer to do it again though, and hopefully finish it faster.

I keep forgetting about it... I haven't filled in this week yet because I'm on a different computer and can't sign into Google (because I can't remember my password!) |
Newlyn: No worries, I just like seeing the numbers.
somedaysunny: Yeah, a December one in a cold climate would be rough, especially for your first. Glad it didn't put you off doing another one. ange: I love that you have figured out how to still have fun and not gain weight. Keeping it within a set range seems to be a healthy, sustainable choice for you. As for me, I got down as low as 206.4 this week, which was great to see, but rebounded a bit and ended at 208. I'm actually going to put my weight in on Friday as my final, even though my normal "weigh in day" is Sunday, and then use that as my starting for the next challenge, which will be up at some point later this week. But if anyone wants to use their normal weigh in day, even though it isn't the official end of the season, that's totally fine as well. Whatever works for you. |
i'll be putting my final weigh-in number in on Wednesday this week (that's Tuesday for you North Americans!), because after that i'm away for about 4 weeks (with one day back home on 3rd). It's (hopefully) going to be at or off the bottom end of my target range due to the Christmas-wiggle-room strategy :)
Will wait til i'm back in the new year before joining the next challenge though, as i'll need to be doing some actions (like signing up to challenges) to get me back in the zone at that point probably. |
