I'm trying to decide where to set my goal this month.

My original September goal was 219. But it looks like I'm going to wind up around 224 for end of August, which means that would only be 5 pounds. At the rate I've been going, that seems sort of low. (Poor me, I'm ahead of the schedule I set #firstworldproblems). I could say 217.4, which would be around 6.5 pounds, and would put me right at 50 pounds lost so far. That's a good goal. I usually set a stretch goal also, but my next significant marker after that is clear down at 213.8, which will be 20% lost. But I'm pretty sure I won't make that in September. That would be around 10 pounds, which doesn't seem realistic. I like stretch goals to be possible, but not very likely, so I have something to stretch for right up until the last day of the month.. I could just set an arbitrary stretch goal of like 8 pounds from tomorrow's weight, since that's what I've been averaging per month. But I don't find arbitrary goals as motivating, I like working toward milestones. Hmmm. Maybe I'll say 215. It is unlikely (why I call it a stretch goal), but if I can make it, I'll only have to lose 5 pounds each of the last 3 months of the year to make my goal. With Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas in the mix there, that seems like a good thing.

Good morning!! I am going to join you even though I don't have a weight loss goal. Actually, I kind of do... I just got done stuffing my face for 5 days in a row, so I would like to lose that 12 lbs. that I put on. I am returning to healthy eating only, not eating at a calorie deficit so I will set my goal for 8 lbs. I have a few daily goals that I would like to set... 1) 1 gallon of water per day 2) no fast food 3) no candy 4) eat fruit and vegetables every day. Nothing drastic since I am pregnant, but I think that this formula will work well.

CW: 177
GW: 169

Gardenerjoy- Thank you for setting up the new thread!

Lacerta- It looks like you were able to decide on a goal, I wish you the best of luck!!

Lunkah- Hiiii, how have you been?!

Darius- Good luck this month, you've got this!!

Ange- Hello!! I am going to join you here!

Thank you for posting the next thread for us, gardenerjoy!

I didn't post much on last month's thread - but, like I just posted over there on my end-of-month entry, I am still alive. I have just been very busy the past few weeks and have been battling that same 3-4 lb plateau all month long. I ended with only a 1.6 lb loss for August, so I'll be keeping the same goal weight for September -- I still want to hit 162, which will officially put me in a healthy BMI category for the first time ever. So, that will be only 5.2 lbs for the month, but I think - considering my plateau struggles - that is actually a pretty ambitious goal for me, even if it doesn't really seem like it. I'm hoping that, once I'm able to start reincorporating a little more exercise or different routines into the mix this month, I will finally be able to see some actual movement on the scale again. We shall see...lol. I think I'm going to do things a little differently this month and only weigh-in on Fridays -- I'll be changing my format for just this month to reflect this and see if it helps me not struggle so much mentally with this plateau I'm dealing with lately. I'm hoping to still post more often than that in here, but - if nothing else - I want to make sure I check-in once a week, minimum!

Best of luck to everyone this month and hugs all around!

(P.S. And, just in case you don't see it over on the last thread -- congrats on the pregnancy, kfunk!!! )

gardenerjoy, thanks for the new thread!

I'm in for an optimistic 4 lbs. I've been at 130 for just about 2 weeks so I'm due a decent whoosh any moment, right?

Good morning all,

September goal: 2-3 pounds

I'm nearing the top of my maintenance range, I'd like to stay in the middle, so trying to tighten things up a little this month. My current range is 140-145.

GardenerJoy thanks for the thread!

So happy to see people signing up again. This is a lot easier for me to keep posting and stay on track when lots of people are posting about their successes and their struggles.

And so glad to see you back, opheliaphoenix. You may call August a plateau, I call it maintaining, and that is a win in my book.

Week One
01: 222.6
02:
03:
04:
05:
06:
07:
----------------------------
Total Loss for Week One:

I figured for sure I'd be back up today, as I usually do from the 1st to the 10th. But with this holiday weekend, that stall might hold off until the 4th this month when I go back to work. So maybe I'll actually lose something this week. Woohoo. Just 0.2 more and I can change my avatar again.

I tried putting some short runs into my walk 2 days ago, and found that my lungs and knees could handle it without issue, however, the bouncing was a significant problem. So I've ordered one of those super duper sports bras that are supposed to keep everything exactly in place. Seriously, this thing has 9 clasps. One of these days, maybe I'll lose some mass off the girls. So far, I've lost rib fat, but I've actually gone UP in cup size. I was a 42DD before, now I'm technically a 37G. WTF? I went up 2 cup sizes, but have gone down several band sizes. So I've lost nothing off the girls themselves, just the rib/back fat, and so the difference between them is increasing. I know some women would be happy to not lose their breasts, but I am not one of them. I'd be perfectly happy at a D, or even a C. However, I think anything smaller than a D is unlikely. I'm pretty sure I hit puberty and jumped straight to a D right off the bat, even though I was quite thin back then. That is part of why my theoretical goal weight is at the upper end of my "normal" range, because I think these puppies are going to add 15-20 pounds to my scale weight even then, so I anticipate having to get thinner than average to get down to 150.. Anyway, I think my small amount of jogging I tried caused some sort of tiny tiny microtear in the tissue in my right breast, as it doesn't hurt, but feels itchy. So I'm going to hold off on trying that again until the new bra arrives.
