All going to plan for me. I had my restrictive week as planned last week, and lost the weight I gained the previous weekend, then I've had a moderate weekend (two 'gaining weight' days-worth of consumption on Friday and Saturday, and a maintenance day on Sunday), all of which means i'm back to the middle of where-I-want-to-be zone so this working week i'll be aiming for what I think is maintenance portions each day, and see if I can stay here....

Just a small loss this week. Wasn't really expecting such a slow week this week, but at least I still lost something.

Exactly, Lacerta! :bravo: to you! I wish I could say the same; another week at 215. Better than gaining ;)!

I'm still alive!! Posting on 3FC again as of today...will start logging on the spreadsheet again as of tomorrow's block! I've been battling a plateau all month, so I haven't made much headway and definitely won't be hitting my goal by the end of this challenge, but I'm still around and still at it. Hope everyone has been doing well.

great to see you back Ophelia! Don't forget to fill in the spreadsheet too!

3 weeks to go until Autumn. Still time to finish strong, even if you aren't going to meet your goal. Every pound gone is one more that you don't have to try to lose this fall.

Lacerta 09-05-2018 10:33 AM

We'll see if I can hold onto it until my official weigh in this Sunday, but this morning, I weighed in at 221.8, which puts me past the goal I set for end of summer. Yay. Now I get to see how much further I can push in the 2.5 weeks we have left.

Chunkahlunkah 09-05-2018 02:02 PM

I finally got a scale--am only 1.6 pounds from my goal in this challenge!

Congrats for hitting goal early, Lacerta!! :cp: :cp: :cp:

fantastic work Lacenta. You're doing so well, and I really enjoy reading about your progress. Keep it up girl! Are you feeling 'in the zone' with this diet thing? or is it a battle to stay on track?
chunks - yay you! that's great news that you're so close. I really like these long challenges, and reading back where we were at the start and how we felt then, and how much we've progressed (not that it's changed much in my case lol). Seems like i'm in the minority though with the long-duration stuff, as there's not many of us left!

All going well for me. I'm in the mood for 'being good' at the moment and so i'm at the bottom end of my target zone, so i'm in a position where I actually need to gain next rather than lose, which is all very weird, and has never happened in my life before!!!!!

Lacerta 09-05-2018 07:26 PM

Chunkalunkah: Thanks a lot and congrats for being so close to goal yourself. Not a lot of us stuck this challenge out, but so nice to see at least a few succeeding.

ange: Thanks, I'm really feeling in the zone. I don't even feel like I'm on a diet or even working especially hard at it. Partly that is because I'm not trying to be perfect, only better. I'm mostly eating the way I was before, just making better choices whenever the opportunity presents itself and not snacking nearly as much. I went out to lunch again today with my mom (she's my boss, too), and she wanted to go to Wendy's, which is not my favorite, but they have good fries. I had a grilled chicken burger and water and we shared a small fries. Not having any fries would have been better, but still, the 10 or so I ate was acceptable. I don't think I could maintain trying to be perfect, but "better", I can manage, and so far, so good. I really attribute most of it to getting on the right meds to fix my hormone imbalances. Before, it was like trying to swim with arms and legs tied together...you might float, but you probably aren't getting anywhere fast. Now I've got my hand paddles and flippers on and am really cruising.

ange82much 09-05-2018 07:43 PM

lacenta isn't it weird that hormones can stop weightloss so effectively? yep, massive win to have figured that one out.
and your approach now is total textbook perfect!! you should be really pleased with yourself.
I started my journey this year with reading the Beck Diet Solution, which is the mental side, and it encourages you (amongst other things) to keep writing 'reminders' - what you said below is a great 'reminder' for any time in the future that you're struggling - i.e. that 'dieting' isn't an unpleasant slog, it can actually be quite easy and very rewarding. And to capture moments and describe how you're feeling that might be motivating later (because it's not someone else telling you - it's you telling you). I have tried to do that a bit (not much to be honest) but I think it's a good idea.

Lacerta 09-09-2018 10:27 AM

So I didn't get to hang onto goal. I've had my first "no loss" week. I didn't gain anything, but this is the first week I've lost 0 pounds. However, I'm almost through my busy time at work, so this upcoming week should be much better, theoretically.

Lacerta 09-09-2018 10:04 PM

Curvy: I just saw that you posted a 2 pound loss for this week. WAY TO GO! Huge congrats on that.

ange: I look at my entire posting history on 3FC as exactly that. A record of how I felt at that time. And a reminder of where I was. But also very cathartic at the time to come on here and vent or brag about whatever is happening to me. And also to sympathize or celebrate with everyone else.

Lacerta 09-16-2018 01:58 PM

September has been a rough month for me for weight loss. I've been stuck between 221.8 and 224.0 for more than 2 weeks now. I think I've officially hit a plateau. Since I've been weighing in on Sundays, I'm now officially as close to my goal as it is possible to be without actually reaching it., even though I did see 222.0 again this week. 6 days left and I'm really hoping to officially beat my goal by Saturday.

Thanks, Lacerta for your kind words of support. It's been a crazy couple of weeks at work and I managed to keep those two pounds off for most of the week. I was up a pound at weigh in. You seem discouraged in your recent posts. While it does sound like you have hit a plateau, you have still made tremendous progress and I know you have goals you still want to meet. Your body is trying to figure something out, to adjust or a myriad of other things could be the cause of your stall. Your attitude is great so don't let this moment steal your joy.
