kay I even need to take a nap on the weekends and that is after I get that much sleep! I hope that yesterdays' weather wasn't too nasty and that your day ended up being less stressful than you thought. Aren't you glad that all of your hard work and persistence paid off?! Congrats again on entering Onederland!!

I am taking the opportunity to post while the kids are sleeping. I have 13 points left today and I am not yet sure what I will eat for dinner. I don't want to pick anything too high in sodium because I want to see if I can drop a little more for the last day of the month. We baked and decorated cookies today and I was able to stay away from them, didn't even lick the frosting off of my fingers!

Saturday should be pretty low key and then we are going to my inlaw's house for Easter. I hope that everyone else has a nice weekend!!

kfunk6113 03-31-2018 12:08 PM

kay Thank you and I bow to you for your fitness achievements!! You have been doing so, so well!!!!

Even if you see a bounce back up, with all the consistency, you will end up whooshing down when your body decides its time. I have said this a lot, but I have 2 weeks per month where I don't lose even when I am perfectly on plan, but that might be different for me because I am not a workout beast like you are!!

Today we are going to run errands again, surprise surprise! I am going to eat a big meal before we go and then bring my coffee, a banana and protein bar with me just in case. It also snowed a lot last night so looks like the Easter Bunny will be hiding eggs inside this year!

Wannabehealthy 04-01-2018 08:13 AM

Happy Easter everyone, or a Blessed Passover, whichever one applies. I am NOT going to be staying on plan today! LOL

Back to it tomorrow.

kfunk6113 04-02-2018 09:07 PM

Hi ladies!

I don’t have time to share the details but I had a horrible, horrible weekend. Up 7, SEVEN lbs. I have a super stressful week ahead of me so probably won’t have time to post much but I hope everyone who celebrates had a great Easter.

Kay- you are amazing!!!

Wannabehealthy 04-06-2018 11:48 AM

So, does the weekend start today? If so, I am starting off well on plan and hope to continue.

Kfunk, I hope you get the issues worked out and are soon back here and on track.

kfunk6113 04-06-2018 09:50 PM

Hey ladies! I hope that everyone has been doing well. I am so glad that my week is over, but I do work tomorrow as well. Very busy and very stressful. I have 2 lbs. to lose to get back to where I was before my binges last weekend. I have stayed on plan all week and continue to do so throughout the weekend.

Kay. Thank you! How have you been doing?

Wannabehealthy. Thank you! How did your day go?

kfunk6113 04-07-2018 07:05 PM

kay Thank you . It sounds like you are doing amazing like usual! It is really cool that you are banking so many calories and then not using them up. It is so nice waking up without a hangover, I have never been able to get the hang of drinking enough for a buzz, but not too much because I almost always end up wasted. Last weekend the sugar hangover was just as bad as an alcohol hangover, I was so excited to eat a vegetable after that haha!! I am surprised that I got rid of it that fast because that is usually not the case. The scale can be so frustrating, but great job on your tick downwards! When I am bound up I chug water like nobodies business and that usually does the trick. You might be in for quite the whoosh when you get rid of it!!

I got home from work a little bit ago and now get to enjoy the rest of the weekend! I had a cup of rice, shrimp and mixed vegetables for dinner with some frozen grapes for desert. I was 164.4 this morning, so 1 lb. away from last Saturday's weight.

Tomorrow we are going to my dads house but wont be eating a meal over there so that will help.

kfunk6113 04-08-2018 11:09 AM

kay good morning!! I just woke up and am waiting for my thyroid medicine to settle before I join you in having a cup of coffee! YES, to catch a glimpse the night before would be amazing because no matter how much I remind myself of how awful I will feel the next day I don't listen!!! I hope that you get some regularity soon!! It used to be daily for me and now I can go 2-3 days without and I hate it!! Good job on increasing your calories yesterday and major props for 21 days in a row :carrot::carrot::carrot: You are wonderwoman! How are your clothes fitting lately?

I am trying to decide if I want eggs only for breakfast - 0 points or if I want to add in hashbrowns to beef it up - 6 points. The only thing making me waiver is that the hashbrowns take forever to cook!! I am going to bring some fruits and vegetables with me to my dads so that I don't graze on the snacks they bring out. Now to figure out what dinner will be when we get home...

kfunk6113 04-11-2018 01:59 PM

kay I opted for the hashbrowns and they didn't disappoint!! I also don't like the sweet potatoes, but all other forms are delicious!! Its so funny where the weight decides to come off of!! If you were to look at me from the collarbones up it looks like I will be sick if I lose any more weight, but I have sooooo much flab in every other place of my body, can't it PLEASE come off of there instead?!

Great job finishing your weekend strong!!! We ended up eating dinner there after all which was unexpected, but I only snacked on plain celery prior to. We had a really good chicken chili with homemade corn bread. I normally don't like cornbread but it had maple butter with it and it was really good. I ate 1.5 pieces and then left the rest and had 1 small bowl of chili.

I hope that you are still kicking butt ( I know you are!)

kfunk6113 04-12-2018 08:41 AM

kay Bread products are a weakness of mine, so for the most part I try to stay away from them, but sometimes nothing else will do! With the way that time flies your bday will be here before you know it!! I am also a June baby, the 10th, what day is yours? I have to say your dedication to fitness is a huge inspiration for me, keep going girl!!

Wannabehealthy 04-13-2018 12:23 PM

I am one who LOVES sweet potatoes. I never liked them all my life because the only way I saw them served was at Thanksgiving with the brown sugar and marshmallows, and that made me gag. Now that I have eaten them baked, I love them, and I like to peel them and either cube them and cook them like home fries, or shred them and cook them like hashbrowns. Yummy! And they are healthier than white potatoes. (as long as they are not fried. LOL) White potatoes are ok, but bland compared to sweet potatoes. Just my opinion. We all like something different.

kfunk6113 04-13-2018 06:33 PM

kay Our bdays are so close! YES, that will be the key, 1 day celebration only!!! I think I am going to just keep it to a special meal + dessert and not do an all day cheat day, I seem to do better that way. What kind of storms are coming your way? I am in MN and we are supposed to get a lot of snow and ice so we also are going to be taking it easy. I am planning on working from home a bunch, I have an icky project to do. I also would love to get in a couple workouts in! It has been a long time since we have gone to the Y so that would be nice for the kids! Holy smokes, 27 days in a row?! I bow to your greatness!!!!

carol I tried the sweet potatoes with brown sugar and marshmallows at Easter and still didn't like them, but I completely forgot about sweet potato fries, they are good! I love fries in general. I should look up the point values and makes some! How have you been doing lately?

Wannabehealthy 04-14-2018 09:55 AM

I had a 3 LB whoosh overnight. Too bad yesterday was my weigh-in day. I hope I can hold onto this loss until next Friday.

My family is used to sweet potatoes the way they are served with brown sugar and marshmallows on Thanksgiving. Since I hate them, one year, in addition to the traditional dish, I made Sweet Potato Scalloped potatoes, with the light yellow sweet potatoes, not the orange ones. They were a savory dish, seasoned with sage. I liked them, but the only other person who would even try them was my step-daughter. She is adventurous with new foods like I am. She didn't like them, but said it might be that she just didn't like the taste of the sage. So I will never make them again because I don't want to be eating the whole casserole myself. I could do that so easily.

I love sweet potato fries, but find regular fries to be dull and boring. It would be terrible if there were not different choices for people who like different things. Everyone eating the same meal, day after day.

kfunk6113 04-14-2018 10:49 AM

kay You can totally have whiskey and nachos, its your bday after all :D One of the days we are going to visit my inlaws and will stop at the store on the way home, but we will be off of them otherwise. I used to get very nervous about driving on icy roads, but the last 3 years my commute to work is 1 hour each way and that made me a much more confident driver in inclement conditions.

I love how determined you are despite your scale being a liar!! That is the reason I have quit so many times in the past and if I only had known to keep at it and the rewards will come, then I would be at goal by now, so kudos to you!!

Oh man, I hope that the severe weather dodges you. I have always had a fascination with tornadoes, but they scare the heck out of me. Have you ever thought about getting a generator in case the power goes out? It would be a shame to lose all the freezer and fridge foods... hopefully if it does go out its only for a short time. What state do you live in?

I need to eat more chicken and veggies! I eat ALOT of eggs and easy to prepare meals, lots of fruit. For now, it gets me by.

carol :carrot::carrot: holy whoosh!!! That is wonderful, I hope that you can hang on to it for your next official weigh in. I really like trying new foods lately and I am surprised at what I like - that is why I tried the sweet potatoes at Easter. I am not a cook though, my husband does most of that!

I slept in until 9:30 and would like to break that habit, but if I am honest I could have kept going. I went to bed at 9 for goodness sake! I am waiting for my thyroid meds to kick in and then I plan on drinking my coffee and logging in to work. My daughter is going to invite a friend over to play so that will keep the kiddos busy.

planned menu:

coffee with 1/3 cup almond milk, 1 tablespoon sugar free creamer, 1 tablespoon regular creamer
1.5 cups shredded hashbrowns with 4 eggs and 2 tablespoons of ketchup
banana
lemon protein bar
tuna with 1 tablespoon of miracle whip served on 2 low carb tortillas
frozen grapes

I hope that everyone is having a great start to their Saturday morning!!

Kay, as I grew up, our vegetable choices were canned corn, peas and green beans. It wasn't until I was well into adulthood that I started eating other veggies. Not because I didn't like them, but because they were never offered to me as a child. A few years ago I started eating a lot more vegetables, filling half my plate with veggies. I started trying a new veggie every week or so, and there's not many that I don't like. I found that the more my taste buds got adjusted to vegetables, the less they were interested in sweets. Now, if I go to a party or get-together, I head for savory treats and have no interest in the sweet treats so I guess I changed my taste buds. I don't know if that would work with everyone. I was never crazy about green beans until I started adding more butter and salt to them.

I am down another 1.5 lbs this morning. This same thing happened after surgery in 2011. I lost about 17 lbs seemingly effortlessly with no real change in diet, but they came back on just as effortlessly. I'm really hoping that doesn't happen this time. I will be more careful since I remember what happened last time. I think this has something to do with meds I am put on while in the hospital. They seem to change my metabolism for a while, then after they wear off, my metabolism goes back to turtle-like. LOL

Kay, I also have the problem of only being able to stay asleep for a few hours, and difficulty falling back to sleep afterwards. I hate it. The only good thing is I am retired so if I can fall back to sleep, I don't have to get up until my body is ready.
