Default The Weekend Thread #2

Anyone is welcome to join me! I struggle the most during the weekends so wanted to get my thoughts out to see if it helps keep me accountable. It definitely helped last weekend!!

Yesterday I came in at 1478 calories

I actually joined WW yesterday to help me shed the final 30 lbs. I have been successful with their program in the past. This new Freestyle program makes me a little nervous because of how many 0 point foods they have added. I get 23 points per day and then 28 extra points to use throughout the week.

Today will be the first day that I use the WW app to track my points. At first I thought that I would use MFP in conjunction to keep an eye on my calories, but then I changed my mind and decided to trust the WW program entirely.

I am going to have 4 scrambled eggs for breakfast and 1 cup of simply shredded potatoes. I am hoping that will be a hearty enough meal to keep me satisfied while we run a whole bunch of errands. I think I might bring a snack just in case I get hungry.

I have a diet bet ending in a few days and need to be really strict to make sure that I win it!

kfunk: thanks for starting a new thread for this weekend. I think the thread helped me last weekend as it made me more aware of what I was eating on the weekend. I had a good week and lost 2.2 lbs and I think the weekend thread helped me do this. I usually don't lose this much in a week as I usually lose between .2 and 1.4 lbs a week so I was very happy with this past week.

I hope you enjoy WW. Let me know how you like their new freestyle program. I did WW when I first joined TFC and had success with their program but I'm not on it now.

kay - hi and congrats on your weight loss to date. What is your 100 day plan?

Kay I知 glad you are joining us! I hear you, it is so frustrating when the scale doesn稚 match the work we put in. Great job on the huge walk and awesome calorie range yesterday! How much water do you usually drink a day?

Flower I知 glad that you came back! Wow, 2.2 lbs. is amazing!! I think the reason I did so well last weekend was having you guys join me in staying accountable. I didn稚 lose anything last week despite being 100% on plan. It was just one of those monthly cycle things. I知 excited to see what I can do this week!

I知 on my phone so have to do separate posts bc my memory sucks!!

We are still out running errands and I am hungry! I already put my dinner in the app and had 2 points left and barely ate anything! I will need the to rethink the whole way I eat! Earlier I got hungry and we stopped at quick trip and I got pineapple chunks and carrots and dip. Now I知 out of points but hungry again!

Hi Weekenders,
Well, Friday night was a splurge for me and the first one I've had since starting this diet on 5t Jan. We had interstate friends stay with us who we've not seen for ages, and they shepparded their children off to relatives, so that we could have an 'adults' night. Kicked off with a bottle of champagne (between two of us) at home, then up to a local bar, then wine with dinner, then another bar afterwards, so all up must've had about 6 drinks (and some sodas). Foodwise I was ok, it was a fine-dining sort of place so small-ish portions and I had two starters only (which was plenty of food, it's the alcohol that stuck another million calories on to my day!)Anyway since then my weight's been up a 1lb. That was on Saturday, and also the same on Sunday. Saturday calories were back on track, and I did an 8-mile walk. Today (Sunday) should be on track even though we have a party to go to this afternoon/evening. So looking forward to knuckling down to another sensible week next week and getting below 65kg that I've been on since last Monday...

kfunk6113 great work on starting WW. Guess you're still allowed to use your own judgement as to what works for you, so if you think the 0 point stuff is too much of a cheat for you (or if you're more impatient to lose weight quicker), you can moderate it??

ange That sounds like you had a great time with friends on Friday!!! Wow, 8 miles is insane, great job!!! I hope that the party on Sunday night went well for you. It is Sunday morning right now where I am at. I ended up at 1250 calories and went 4 points over yesterday!! I will need to make sure that I am getting in more veggies for sure! When I was tracking calories only I was eating 1400-1600.

kay great job on sticking to your calorie goal again!! It became obvious to me that I do not eat enough veggies so that will change. There were 3 points in the ranch dip that I used for my carrots yesterday but I didn't come close to finishing the carrots or dip. I am stressed out about my coffee situation!!! I had this same problem when I tried low carb. I don't like the taste of sugar free creamers... I don't like whipping cream. As is the 4 tablespoons that I regularly use is 140 calories, but 8 points. I can't waste that many points on a drink!!

120 oz is a normal day for me, but yesterday I only hit 50! Some days I drink up to 150. I do not like using this app for posting when I only have my phone, I am glad that I am not alone on that!!

What do you ladies have planned for today?

I did not drink enough water yesterday so I will make sure that changes today. I had a very lazy morning so am just getting ready to eat breakfast now. I will have:

4 eggs: 0 points
1.5 cups hashbrowns: 6 points
1 tablespoon of ketchup: 1 point

At this point I think a diet coke will replace my coffee which will be fine for today because it is already so late in the morning. I checked out hot cocoa as a substitute and that had 9 points in it!!!!!!!!!

kay They really do have a great list of 0 point foods, at first that made me nervous, but now I am not worried at all!! My usual food routine involved little prep work and I was eating the same things over and over, so this is good that it is making me rework the way I eat!! The foods on the 0 point list are so healthy that it would be fine to just eat off there with your points coming from the oils. Coconut oil has 2 points per teaspoon and olive oil has 1 point per teaspoon.

I get weekly points so I just lost 4 of those, so it wasn't a big deal. The last time I was on WW I got 32 points I think, so I RARELY ever used my weekly points, but only fruits and veggies were free and the point values of other things were smaller, but I like this new program so far.

Giving up coffee now wouldn't be the worst thing. My husband and I are trying to conceive, so once I get pregnant it will go anyways! I might just suck it up and buy some SF stuff for now. I am going to try to get used to tea.

I have some work to do on the computer, housework and will need to go back to the store (might ask hubby to do that though). The kiddos are just vegging out, nice lazy Sunday!

Weekend over for me, and after the splurge on Friday, I had a normal day on Saturday (calories-wise) and a low cal day on sunday.
I've mastered the art of the zero-calorie party this summer, and did this again on Sunday. Drink soda water, don't eat. Fairly easy actually, and certainly saves deliberating over shall I/shan't I with snacks etc.
The scale isn't behaving though, but i'm happy with my eating plan so I just need to be patient I think.

Ange - wow, congrats on your 8 mile walk

kfunk: let me know how the new WW program works for you. I've been thinking about rejoining but would love to hear more about the new program. when I was on the program the free foods just included all fruits and vegetables. I'm not sure what the new free foods are. Eggs?

kay: your 100 day plan sounds really good and I like that you are trying to get into a regular exercise routine

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Last night I had a small personal size pizza with a super thin crust. It's from a neighbourhood pizza place and is quite good. I also had some sugar-free gummy bears. Yesterday it was sunny and I went for a 4 mile walk which I really enjoyed.

Today I've been sorting through old clothes that I plan to give to the local women's shelter. I would like to also sort through some of my clutter that I have in some boxes but I don't think I will get this done today. I think I will just do some knitting in front of the tv. I'm taking the day off exercise today and will get back to it tomorrow. I haven't eaten much today but plan to have some scrambled eggs and a salad for dinner. I will also get in my 3 liters of water.

Oops! I forgot all about the weekend thread. LOL I did stay on plan over the weekend so I'm happy about that. After hearing about all the water your guys have been doing I realized I've been very lax with that. It's not something that comes natural to me. I'm in a challenge on another forum were you post each day, counting how many days you've stayed on plan, then if you fall off the wagon you have to start over at day 1. I'm only on day 6, but that seems to be helping me stay on plan. I want to see how many days I can do it. It's on the honor system, and just for fun, but it's helping!!

Kfunk, good for you on starting WW. I hope you do well.

ange Sounds like the rest of your weekend finished up quite nicely! That is awesome that you have mastered the 0 calorie party!!!

flower I really like the new WW program so far! The list of 0 point items is really big. Chicken breast, lots of fish, greek yogurt, etc. I can't find the list on my phone app, but there are a bunch! Great idea donating clothing to a woman's shelter, I didn't think of that! Great job on your 4 mile walk!

carol 6 days in a row on plan is a huge achievement, great job!!!! That challenge sounds great! I can't say enough about getting in my water, it makes such a difference and after a while you start to crave it!

I finished up the weekend on plan. That makes 2 in a row
