Jessie WAY to GO!!!!!!!

Tortie 09-26-2017 02:43 PM

Well done, Jessie! I retain water with too much sodium, I guess I do with too much sugar as well. Thanks for pointing that out, I never thought of that before.

[B]Walking[/B Your commitment and success with post-dinner snacking is remarkable. I think that's a tough one for many of us.

Kfunk , I'm not a pop person at all, but I think if I had to give up my morning tea, well I'd not be a pleasant person to be around, so good on ya!

Day 10 completed - had to postpone until later in the day, but I still got it done.

kfunk6113 09-27-2017 08:24 AM

tortie YAY on completing day 10!!! That is awesome that you did it after postponing it! Have you noticed any difference in your stamina or in how your clothes are fitting?

working how's it going with your after dinner snacking?

jessiegreene 09-27-2017 09:08 AM

Tortie, your body holds onto 4 molecules of water for every 1 carb eaten, this is why I TRY to stay below 20 carbs a day.

Thanks, kfunk. I am sleeping better, I'm less fatigued on the last reps - so I'm getting stronger. I have noticed a bit more stamina going about my day, just in the last few days. I think I'm a long way from my clothes fitting differently, and that's okay.

Day 11 of strength training 5 days a week, alternating muscle groups, completed.

workinglikeadog 09-27-2017 01:15 PM

Tortie, You are doing awesome at Day 11 on your challenge. I did a second lift yesterday and felt like a total slug, so you give me hope that in continuing to lift twice a week that it will feel better at some point.

K-funk and jessie, so proud of both of you for getting right back in there and starting again. I had another questionable night, then a fail and am determined to start a-new tonight on the same challenge, cause it's an important one for me.

 to ALL

Sleeping better is a huge motivation for me and I am so glad that you have noticed a difference in your sleep!! It is awesome that you can tell that you are getting stronger and have more energy during the day! I can't wait until I start to feel the differences that working out provides! I didn't want to work out last night, but this thread gave me the mental boost to power through it!!

working I am so glad that I started posting in this thread, it is very motivational to me, so thank you very much for setting it up!! Great job on not giving up!! I noticed that I am a few lbs. higher than your starting weight. Can you tell me what the changes to your body have looked like so far? Can you tell a big difference?

kfunk6113 09-29-2017 08:23 AM

jessie Great job on 3 days in a row!!

Giving up PM snacking
Day 1(R 9/28) - Success

Go Jessie, Go kfunk! One day at a time.

How are you doing Tortie? I did another lift session yesterday, I think my third. Boy am I sore. I'm just trying for twice a week at this point, although I know 3 times a week is better.

kfunk, It's been a while since I was at my highest weight. It was after my son's birth and before he was in grade school(he's in college now). Initially I decided I wanted to feel healthier, so I could keep up with my son. Losing weight and reclaiming my health was a huge confidence booster and I remember feeling sexier in my body as well. My goal after the initial lose was not to yearly regain winter or emotionally stressed weight. These re losses made me realize I need to be mindful and healthy for life. It physically feels better not to have a big tummy and mentally makes me happy for being good to my body. My newest goal is to be mindful year round, to allow my body to skinny down in the summer and not to go into the overweight range at any time of the year. Hope summarizing my journey helps.

It is worth it, and YOU can do it!

Tortie 09-29-2017 06:43 PM

Sorry for not checking in, I was in bed sick all day yesterday. Feeling a bit better today, planning a low key weekend, so hopefully I can restart at day 1 on Monday.

Wishing everyone a good weekend :)

21 days to new habits has worked for me. When I wanted to change I do as you have. Persistence is key and do not worry if things don't happen the way you think. For me next challenge is to increase fresh veggies in my diet to nearly half of my meals (which is challenging when I cook for kids).

kfunk6113 09-30-2017 11:25 AM

working thank you for that, very helpful!!

tortie I hope that you feel better soon!

ssnooze Hi, welcome!! I am glad that this has worked for you in the past!! Good luck with your new challenge, its a good one!
