  • Down 1 lb, so 3 more pounds to go for July! I've had some days that were not so great, but I will continue to do better every day and hopefully lose 4 pounds by the end of July. I'm on a medication that causes weight gain and slows metabolism, but my doctor is slowly weaning me off of that, so hopefully things will go better after I'm off of it. I'll be on vacation for the last week of the month, which may not go well for my weight loss, but I will try not to gain, at least.

  • Thanks everyone. The creep was caught - he did 5 apts in one night! We got to talk to him which was weird but don't know if it mattered.

I"m sorry to hear that July is hard on some of you. I know nothing takes away the pain of loosing someone but you have a community here that is understanding. Hugs to all of you.

Husband is sick with a bad cold so it's going to be a quiet weekend. No outings for us so I will work out in front of the tv as much as possible.

We went to a party last Sunday and it's amazing how many people were telling me to have 2nds and getting a little heated because I didn't. I thought that was a bit odd but I didn't give in to peer pressure.

  • Jumping in late!

I saw my doc and my labs showed that I am pre diabetic and doctor basically said, it is upto you now. I got a nice scare

So.. Goal is to drop 5 pounds by the end of the month. Lots of bloat, should not be that hard....

  • Sum38 my dad was recently diagnosed diabetic, and after that I went in to my doc and had my A1C glucose levels checked. They were slightly elevated and put me in the pre-diabetic range. I completely understand your struggle. This was back in February, and since then I've lost almost 20 pounds and dropped my levels back into the normal range. It's doable! You've got this!! Just be aware of your sugar and carb intake, eat good proteins, and be active! Your body will sort itself out if you treat it well!

I had a tiny, tiny drop today after work and a short walk with the doggo. Currently I'm at 257.6, so down 0.2 since last check in. Hey, it's better than a gain! We have been extremely active the past 2 weeks, so I know I'm gaining muscle. Tomorrow the dog and I are doing another 3-4 mile hike at the same place as our hike on Thursday. It's right next to a river and incredibly peaceful. Hoping to see another drop after the hike tomorrow - even a small one. It's frustrating to be over 250 pounds and still be plateauing so often, but I have to realize i am building muscle as I am losing fat. The last time I lost weight I did it in an unhealthy way, and developed more than one eating disorder and a bad relationship with the scale and with food. This time I am working on losing the weight slower so that it stays off, and building good habits and good relationships with food and my weight. Thanks for listening to my rant! Sorry guys!
  • gardenerjoy - Almost there!

jr - That hike next to the river sounds so lovely. Please rant anytime; you're preaching truth.
  • Chunk unfortunately I got called into work tomorrow morning instead, so the hike will be saved for another day. I can't wait til fall - I can just throw on a flannel and my Camelbak and hike for hours because the heat isn't overwhelming. But, I do need the OT. Living on your own in Denver is no joke!

  • jr - Fall in Denver must be so beautiful. I lived one spring just outside of Colorado Springs in Manitou Springs. Such a scenic state. I hear ya on the prices though! I hope your OT shift flies by.
  • Chunk OT was rough. Sundays are a hard day for my starbucks for whatever reason. I've been to Manitou a few times. I hiked Williams Canyon under Cave of the Winds in March with my neighbor. Fall in Denver is spectacular though. I'm taking 12 days off in October and having a visitor staying with me here for a week, and we are gonna do a lot of exploring with the doggo. Only like 80 days til vacation! And hoping to have lost about 20 more pounds by then.
