NightSnacker wow your weight certainly jumps up and down! The newest number is pleasing though :) I used to fluctuate this much in weight when I was fully breastfeeding a baby, it was a mind game, really. Now it may move up or down a little, but not this much.
|
Ronja I remember my nursing days fondly but have to admire you for looking after yourself as well. I didn't have anything to spare, was just exhausted and didn't care much about myself then. Took me years to lose the baby weight after each of my 3 kids so I salute you for doing so well.
My ups and downs aren't very fun right now but I've been trying different diet tactics and I think I'm learning that very low carb isn't for me. I might just be getting more fat than is efficient for this type of diet. When I go back to a super restrictive calorie diet with reasonably low carbs I start to have success again. I guess I can do this for now but sustainability is the problem. Once I break that 200 pound wall I'll be able to have 3 bites a few times a day and smell an apple or something and call that a snack. Keeping that up to keep the weight going down once I've lost a bunch is going to be nearly impossible. That's probably my main goal, finding a way to live that's sustainable and supports just me, not my extra 100 pounds! |
Takingcontrol: thank you for the welcome. What you said about being kind to yourself really resonated with me. It was appreciated advice.
LovelyLeah: Thank you as well. I underestimated how helpful it would be to be part of other peoples weight loss adventures. The scale hasn't budged for me in 2 days. But I skipped a weigh in and i can't do that. I need the constant feedback on what I'm doing right and wrong. I guess it keeps me accountable. To be honest with myself i did cheat at a super bowl party. Although I feel like usually I would have indulged in a full plate and ate until I was totally satisfied. This time I sampled a few things from my husband's plate. I rationalize these things bcd its not "that bad" or "that much" but if Im trying to create a caloric deficit it is toooo much. I need to be more on guard against my bad eating habits. Francesca017: I know what you mean about being home and around food all day. I think it makes dieting harder. I also like the idea of intermittent fasting. My goal is to eat btw 11am-5pm. what are you doing? |
NightSnacker thanky you for your kind words, but to be honest, I've been terrible with losing weight after kids. I'm actually still a pound or two above my last pre-pregnancy weight and my last baby already turned one year!
I have never head issues shading the pregnancy weight, because I gained just little, being always realyl sick. So coming home from hospital with a baby (or two) I was already back on my pre-pregnancy weight. But I was never able to KEEP it off while breastfeeding. I breastfed two sets of twins and I was EXHAUSTED. And when I don't sleep, I eat. Sugar. Lot of sugar. LOT of sugar. So here I am, 20 pounds above my pre- first pregnancy weight, but doing well at the moment losing what needs to be lost. I hope to stick to this...I'm a mother of five and I love that, but I hate that I do indeed LOOK like mother of five, if you know what I mean! |
Weigh-in was 268.8 today, which makes a total of 3.2 lbs down for the week. Didn't quite hit my water goal yesterday (only got in 15), but I went out for that long walk finally and ended up getting a great workout in despite not being able to go to the gym. I also walked the kids up to the little playground on the first curve of our neighborhood, and it had an extra wide duo-slide that even my rear could fit down easily, lol, so I actually got to join in with my 2 year old for the first time, and he thought it was great! He would yell out "ready, set, GO!" and we would slide down side by side...it made me feel really good that I could actually join him and even more excited to get down to a healthy weight so that I can do that anywhere and at any time! It gave me a little preview of what having a smaller/healthier body might feel like, and I want that. For all of us!

The last few days have been rough emotionally for me. I haven't been sleeping so I've been taking it easy. I have to be careful to balance self-care with backtracking. I've struggled with that in the past. I take care of myself emotionally by easing up on dieting but then also transition into allowing myself to emotionally eat and binge. It's a dumb cycle. Poo....
SW: 209.6 GW: 199 2/1 - 209.6 2/2 - 208.2 2/3 - 208.2 2/4 - 208 2/5 - 207.4 2/6 - 207.2 2/7 - 206.2 - I am stunned. I wasn't expecting that big of a drop. I barely drank water yesterday so I figured I'd be retaining it. |
sw: 108.7
cw: 105.0 gw: 105.0 Reached 08/02, so now moving it to 103.5. 01: 108.7 02: 108.3 03: 108.0 FAST DAY 04: 106.2 :cb: 05: 107.0 06: 106.6 FAST DAY 07: 105.8 08: 105.0 :o I'm not sure what happened as I wasn't really all that good with my food choices yesterday, but I repeated my weight in like five times and it was moving everywhere between 104.8 and 105.2. So I'm taking the average, 105.0 and that's my goal for February :o I lost 3.5 kgs (7.7 lbs). It does look like I set a too low goal for myself but 3.5 kgs is more than what I lost in all of January, and considering that February is a short month, I though seting 3.5 kgs was rather optimistic. But I didn't expect to actually decide for IF (very spontanesously one night after reading about its benefits) and see these results so fast. Setting up a new goal of 103.5. If I reach it, it will be 5 kgs lost (11 lbs) and that sounds like a lot for one month. I know this is extreme and I do think it's just the initial whoosh that will be over soon and losing weight will become troublesome again and I will be happy to lose 5 lbs a month. But for now, I'm just happy with what I'm gettiung and enjoying it while it lasts! |
opheliaphoenix awww that sounds lovely, being able to play with your little one, that must have feel fantastic! You're doing amazing job with your weightloss, your figures are inredibly steady and always moving in the right direction. For me, being able to play with my girls and showing them a good example of what healthy boody looks like is a great motivation to lose all the extra weight I carry.

Breaking 205 is becoming my first battle of this current journey. I live to fight another day! Tomorrow is the dreaded official weigh in day, would love love love a whoosh to record a half decent weekly loss. But, if it doesn't happen this week, it will happen soon..... hoping for a couple of more relaxed days at work today and tomorrow before Friday off. Hopefully removing the stress will help.
Chouku, lovely to see you back and hope things are okay. Wonderful non-scale victory, congratulations! Francesca, welcome! It sounds like you are going to need a lot of willpower to succeed, something this site will hopefully help with. Good luck! Nightsnacker, your drop yesterday was amazing! But, make sure you are taking care of yourself too! It is a long road so we have to make whatever we choose to do has to be doable for the long term. I am having my most on plan week ever and my weight is totally stuck. I have to believe that it will go down again soon and that I am helping to build healthy lifestyle patterns while I wait! I hope you continue on your journey down now, but do it feeling strong :) IslandJD, I'm also not moving at the moment on the scale, but trying to see this as a long path and things will get going again soon! It sounds like you did great at the super bowl party by not over indulging, at the end of the day, we still have to live. I am going to try the opposite tactic to you and weigh in less for a week as I think I am getting obsessed by the numbers. I will weigh in in the morning for my official weigh in and then try and only weigh in once more before next Thursday and see if I can take my focus off the numbers but keep it on my lifestyle. Ophelia, You are doing great this week, well done! I love your story at that park, lovely :) LovelyLeah, keep taking care of your emotional health, I hope you are feeling stronger soon. Well done on the number this morning though, a well needed boost I am sure. Ronja, you are doing amazingly well! IF seems to be your friend, congratulations! You are giving me inspiration to get over my own mini plateau! All of that with 5 children too, well done :) Target met in 8 days? Intermittent fasting
IslandJD - Hi. I try and leave it till as late in day as possible because we eat quite late at night due to husbands job. So normally it's an 8 hour window 12.30 ish til around 8.30 so that gives a 16 hour break. Although recently also tried pattern similar to yours but I get really hungry around 8 especially if he's then eating! When I was being good (hopefully this week is new start at that!) I combine it with 5:2 there was great programme on last year regarding science behind it. I also try to do any exercise first thing at morning before had any calories, although nothing seems to work to the extent of others but no idea what else can do!

Welcome Francesca! :welcome: There are a couple 140's groups in the 3FC's forum you could join. The members are steadily making their escape to the 130's. I was stuck in the high 140's for a long time, but since joining this website, I'm about to get below 145. I finally have hope I can reach my goal weight again!

Ronja WOW!! Congrats on meeting your goal!
takingcontrol Ha! We both hit the exact same number on the exact same day! :D SW: 209.6 GW: 199 2/1 - 209.6 2/2 - 208.2 2/3 - 208.2 2/4 - 208 2/5 - 207.4 2/6 - 207.2 2/7 - 206.2 2/8 - 205.6 - WOW! I was not expecting that drop! I thought I'd bounce around the 6s for a couple days. I'll take it though. And that also makes 10 pounds down! |
ooooooohhhh LovelyLeah the race is on!!!!!! ;) Although the week I am having you will be leaving me for dust!
I ate dinner at 17.30 today and am not going to eat again until to breakfast, see if eating late when I get in from work has been having a negative effect.... I would LOVE to see a 204 tomorrow for my official weigh in, but bet I get a 207 ha ha |
