January Exercise Challenge
Let's start 2017 with a bang!
State your exercise goal and track it throughout the month with this supportive group of fellow exercisers. We'll compile our workout goals into a list. My January goal is 500 mins.
Jan 2nd- 40m lift + 20 m bike = 60m Jan 3rd- 20 aero + 20 bike, 40 + 60 = 100m Jan 4th- 30 aero = 25 bike, 30+25 +100= 155m Jan 5th- 30 lift + 20 bike, 55 + 155 = 210 Jan 6th- 20 aero + 20 bike, 40 + 210 = 250 |
Ladies, I am so in with you! I am committing to this January challenge!
I am happy to see the thread is still running and it's high time I joined in again. Here is the deal with me: I commit to at least 3x of formal exercise per week, if it's more fine! I don't see an injury taking place ,and barring any injury this is so what I want and need! I don't care if I do 15 minutes, or 20 minutes, or more! My goal right now is to get STARTED again and just do it and make it a habit. With this all being said, my schedule will look like this! The days I do not exercise I will come in and write none. My goal is 400 minutes on the elliptical. I will do 20 minute sessions 5 times a week and record my mileage.

Joining this challenge has helped me stay accountable and I am grateful for the encouragement and support!
My goal will be 600 minutes a month. I can't always do my original hope of 30 minutes 5x a week, but the 600 a month does work better for me. My exercise is the "intentional" kind as someone else stated, but if I have to shovel snow, and if it's heavy snow and I break a sweat and/or feel the effort in my arms/shoulders, I will count that also :cool: Jan. 1 - 0 Jan. 2 - 0 Jan. 3 - 30 min. Last month all the running helped with loss/maintenance, but my left foot is not feeling any better. I am going to give it a break and do the elliptical now.
My goal is 400 minutes of HIIT cardio on the elliptical. By the end of a HIIT session, I have nothing left in me... It only takes 20 minutes but it's good quality cardio. Incline setting: 5-10. Speed Setting: 13+ 1/1: UBWO + 20 min (13 - 2.25) 1/2: LBWO + 20 min (14 - 2.24) Total: 40 min |

To those who remember me, I am back :wave:. After some horrid injuries; a broken back and some herniated discs. I feel strong enough to start this journey, over again with extra 15 pounds, where I started this journey a few years back. But such is life...
So my goal for the month is to re-introduce myself to exercise. Since I have a heavy load on me, I have to start gently. I tend to rush in and get injured. -- My left knee has been sore, for months and I don't want it to get even more aggravated plus I really need to baby my back. Plan is to walk 20 miles per week and visit the gym and lift (plus core workouts) 2 times per week. 1/01 ~ 4 Mile outdoor walk (4/20) 1/02 ~ 4 Mile outdoor walk; 30 minutes weight lifting and core work; 12 minutes on exercise bike (8/20) 1/03 ~ 1/04 ~ 1/05 ~ 4 mile treadmill walk; 30 minutes weight lifting and core work (12/20) 1/06 ~ 3.6 mile outdoor walk (15.6/20) |

Sum38: glad to have you back! Take care with those workouts. I'm always trying to thread the needle between too little exercise (which causes pain from inactivity) and too much (which increases risk of injury).
