Weekend Boater 02-26-2017 10:30 PM

Hi ladies

I hope you all had a great weekend. My weekend went by so fast! IT was busy indeed. Had my folks over today for a cookout and it was so nice. I ate a lot of beef and sat a bit heavy in my tummy. Last night I made zoodles and a beef sauce, that is prob why! lol. It was light last night but I usually don't do beef more than one night a week, two tops.....needless to say, today was great.

I was very active and got in 15k steps thus far, breaking my record. DO I want to do this everyday? NO, lol :) We will see what happens.

As for Germany, I have visited as well and was quite smitten with it!

lurchmomma That is great about your walks! I find walks very cathartic, I just love them! Of course, that warm weather really helps! I am glad to hear that your plan is working well for you, do keep us posted and keep up the great work! smile

scotsgal so glad you checked in, keep shining girl! :)

I abig hello to all of you and hope to chat soon. Let's keep it going ladies! Hugs

Weekend Boater 02-27-2017 05:34 PM

Just a little note to say that I miss you all! I hope that you are all well and sleep well and wake up to a great new day tomorrow!

Keep in touch ladies, check back soon. How is everyone doing? Are you thinking about meal plans and plans in general for March? Our new month will be upon us soon. I am still thinking! Activity is definitely on the burner and meal plans may be more of the same but a bit of a shake up, still not sure but I will devise my meal plans and get the stuff.

Hugs to you all!

Scotsgal 02-28-2017 12:46 PM

Hello!

So these last few days have been a little hectic, My sister who is due a baby over the next 2 weeks has had some very unfortunate timing to have all of her heating system renewed. The company cancelled on her last week because they "weren't insured" to help my BIL move the sofa about 5 feet to pull the carpets back to get access into the living room heater. There are plenty of words to call them, but I wont spoil the nice atmosphere in here. So after a very badly organised last few weeks, I have had to take them all in yesterday, keep the 2 kids over night (aged 8 and 2), as well as keep my highly pregnant sister and her mental Lurcher puppy who terrorises my 12 year old collie cross, during the day.

This means that I have not been able to get ANY workouts done over the last 2 days. I can't leave my dog alone in the house with the pup, I can't walk her for a long time because she can only go 50 mins before needing to sleep, and I can't take the puppy because my sister does not have the correct leash for her so she cant run around and play. Its been a bit stressful. Last night my calories were up at 1800 and I new that It was because I got up super early and I was snacking more than usual when I am usually in the Gym. Today Has been very similar, which not only reflected on the scale this morning, but probably will tomorrow morning as well.

Its soo difficult when you are put off routine.

LurchMomma 02-28-2017 02:00 PM

Happy Fat Tuesday Everyone!

As I posted on another thread today, I'm not Catholic, but I like the concept of Ash Wednesday and Lent. Today I will give thoughtful consideration to selecting an unhealthy practice to forgo, with the ultimate goal of replacing it with a more reverent and mindful practice. :chin: I am excited by this. Lately I've just felt as if I'm going through the motions without being truly engaged in life or in living. :dz:

Scotsgal: :bravo::carrot: Way to go on being 50 pound down! I know what you mean about having your routine upended. Hang in there. I'm sure your sister appreciates what you are doing more than you will ever know. What is a Lurch puppy?

Weekend Boater: I have been planning to add more beans to my diet in March. Very high in fiber and protein. Plus, I love beans. DH doesn't care much for them. I think more and more, I will have to make separate entrees for us for supper. Certainly not the end of the world. He's a big meat guy and I'm just not. LOL! :cheer::congrat: on your step record! Keep it up!

It has been raining all morning and the sun just peeked out! :sunny: Yay! I'll take it! Spring is coming! ;)

April

ashori602 02-28-2017 02:19 PM

@LurchMomma Happy Fat Tuesday! I am narrowing down what to give up during lent...I am thinking Dunkin Donuts since I can never just get a coffee from there I always have to get a donut to go with it lol. And also if I do get coffee to make sure the barista doesn't add sugar. Let me know what you decide to do :)

LurchMomma 03-01-2017 11:50 AM

Hello Chickadees!

We had thunderstorms all night here! I love thunderstorms! Tornadoes, No, Thunderstorms, Yes. March definitely "came in like a Lion"!

ashori: I have decided that I'm going to give up most internet activity for Lent, except for necessary endeavors, such as paying bills, etc. I am a "click-a-holic", and tend to jump on with the intention of jumping right back off, and then get sucked into the black hole that is cyberspace for hours at a time, randomly clicking on this and that. I waste so much time that could be better spent. I've been up for three hours and here I sit in my pajamas. LOL. I could have already had a walk, done some strength training, called my mother, sent a card to the grandkids, fed the chickens, cleaned the ceiling fans....well, you get the picture! :D

Weekend Boater: Thanks again for this thread! Keep up the good work! Easter is April 16th.... :)

Andi: I hope you are doing well! Last time I checked, your fitbit steps were great! Keep moving! I'll look for you after Easter and I know we will BOTH be closer to our goals!

Scotsgal: Praying for the safe delivery of your new little niece or nephew and that your life settles down and you are able to resume your routine! :)

God bless,

April

WebWoman 03-01-2017 01:43 PM

Hello Spring chickens!

I've been awol for a while, but have been busy with ??? whatever it is!
Not doing as well as I had hoped, although eating sensibly. I'm sure my metabolism is slow, so I need to get out at exercise more! The rain has stopped here, so I hope to get in a good walk after work today.

Congrats Scotsgal on your 50 pounds!! How wonderful. Hang in there, things will settle down soon!

I've been trying to hire a company to do some work in my basement, and it's taking way longer than I planned. i need to let the stress go and trust that the best company will come through for me.

Hello to WB, ashori602, and April! Hope to check back soon with a positive report!

opheliaphoenix 03-01-2017 04:36 PM

Checking in again to say that I hit my second goal today! :yay:

After reaching my first goal more quickly than expected thanks in part to a large water weight loss, I made a second goal of reaching 257 lbs to make it an even 40. Well, my weigh-in today read 255.4! That was after a pretty big whoosh, though, so we'll see how much of it sticks tomorrow...lol. For now, I am going to add a third and final goal to get me through to the end of the challenge. My "Part Three" challenge will be to lose an additional 8.4 lbs. We only have 19 days left, so I'm not sure I will make it since it will be between 8-10 lbs to go, depending on what happens to my whoosh tomorrow....BUT, if I can make it happen, it will make it an even 50 lbs down, and I just like whole numbers, lol. This one will be hard, but it might be doable if I stay consistent. Fingers crossed! :crossed:

Hope everyone is doing great! :grouphug: See you in a few weeks!

Weekend Boater 03-01-2017 06:58 PM

Hi girls and happy March first! New month, new start! I hope that you are all well and have a great new start to our new month.

As always, it is so nice to come in and read your news, thanks for the updates! :)

Ophelia Hi! :) and thank you so much for coming in to report your progress and wonderful news and inspiration! My goodness! I am so happy for you! Congratulations on your magnificent loss girl ! :carrot::cheer3::cheer2::congrat: Keep us posted ok? and keep up the awesome work! wow! :) Will be looking forward to hearing your news.

webwoman hey you! : ) It is great to hear from you. Well, it's a new month and fresh new start! As for hiring a company, I feel you! Ay ay ay, as all I can say is getting plenty of estimates! Best is through word of mouth, some of these people are total sheisters! yeap, I said it! lol :) I hope the weather clears for you and you have some nice days ahead, either way, we will be here. I think we are in for a cold snap after tomorrow, DH is going to be busy as heck (stuff for us) so I am going to need to keep busy, thank god for videos incase the weather gets bad! lol.

lurchmomma Oh you! Thank you and thank you so much for the encouragement and support! :) You know dear lady, I will totally miss you if your not around but I totally understand too! It can be time consuming and I so know what you mean about the getting the exercise in and this and that, just be well! That is the most important thing! Come in when you can and up to it as I always so enjoy your posts, as I am sure we all do! Sometimes we just need to do what we need to do, I understand  I am such a big baby, I am still afraid of thunder! lol

ashori That sounds like a nice plan, with that being said, happy lent to you all!

Scotsgal Thanks for coming in hon, always thinking of you and how you are. I am sorry to hear about your current situation with it impeding your regular routine but as April said, she sure is lucky to have you and that is very nice of you to help out in that way. I hope things settle down though and you can get back to your regular routine, I so agree it can be so hard when things disrupt our usual schedules...whatever those may be. You have worked so hard and have had so much success and progress...keep up the great work girl and keep in touch! : )

A big hello to all of you and sorry If I missed anyone, I have to log but I will catch up with you all soon! :grouphug:

Scotsgal 03-02-2017 12:02 PM

Lurch Hey! Thank you! I am sure she does, she should be popping out number 3 any day now. Its a Boy, and I think she is going to call it Eogan (Owen), we all have very unusual names that are typical Irish or Scots Gaelic spelling names . A Lurcher Puppy is a greyhound crossed with a border collie. She is a tall black skinny, lanky looking thing. Unlike my pooch zoe, who is the exact same bread, only takes the collie traits, she is quite small, all black and has shorter legs. When both are beside each other, the puppy can stand over my 12 year old dog and have still about an inch between back and tummy. She is cute! but like trying to control a lanky giraffe.

Web Aww thank you

Weekend Aww thank you as well :D, I just know that If I don't give 100% when I have the time to.... I have no chance to keep it up when I don't. So I try and do as best as possible.

So I put on 1.6lbs, but I think some of that is being just very slightly over calories and some bloating. So hopefully that will shift soon. Looking to hit 271 by Wednesday

Weekend Boater 03-02-2017 02:58 PM

scotsgal That really is not a big gain, I know it is all relative but considering all you have done and been through I think that is pretty good and I totally agree! Probably just fluid and you can get that off! Keep on shining girl! : ) I am going to do another workout right now! jeesh! What us women go through! lol Let's hang in there and keep it rockin' girl!

Scotsgal 03-03-2017 04:51 PM

Aww thank you Weekend, It came down a little bit today. Looking to try and still get that 271 come Wednesday, going to work out all monday tuesday if possible.

Hurt my neck a little bit when upping my weights on Thursday, hopefully that will be gone by then.

Weekend Boater 03-04-2017 12:40 PM

Hi girls, just wanted to wish you a great weekend! All is well here, I have been busy and active and tomorrow have a family outing that I will be attending. It is very cold here today but it is supposed to be mild again next week, which will be nice, as I can add in some more outdoor walks!

Scotsga I am so sorry to hear about your pulled neck muscle, that is very uncomfortable. I wish you a speedy recovery, get better girl! That is number one. I hope you have a great weekend and that you all do!

I will catch up more soon! It is too cold for outdoor stuff today but fortunately it is nice and sunny! Good day to do the upstairs a bit and look into a few other things! We change the clocks ahead next Saturday! :carrot:

Scotsgal 03-05-2017 04:39 PM

Neck is feeling much better today, currently 1.3 lbs up from my lowest as of this morning, so I need to get my butt in gear to get that gone and then some for my weigh in on Wednesday.

Plan for this week is to get to the gym twice on Monday, then twice on Wednesday, twice on Friday. So lets hope I can get this in.

Weekend Boater 03-05-2017 08:05 PM

A big hi to you all and hope your having a great weekend!

scotsgal so glad that your neck is feeling better! Everything else will follow.

As for me today, went to a birthday party. I didn't overdo it but still felt so tired and so sluggish when I got home! I didn't sleep well last night and was up very early again and then after the lunch and all, omg, felt like sleeping when I got home!

I did manage to move around a bit and thank god it passed! One thing is for sure, I feel a good nights sleep in order! More on me tomorrow!

Wishing you all a good nights sleep and may we wake up to a good day tomorrow. Scots, heal quickly darling and I look forward to catching up soon! Big hug. More tomorrow and soon, let's keep it going ladies.

Scotsgal 03-06-2017 12:29 PM

Neck is feeling much better!!! Weighed in at 272.4 this morning which was a new low :D very happy about that, went to the gym earlier, had to rush around a bit for my sister earlier, but I will be able to get back to the gym after dinner this evening. Hoping to see maybe 272 on the dot tomorrow if not lower. Fingers crossed, trying to get out of these 270's asap, they are starting to drive me mental  Been here since December.

I feel I can notice a difference with my legs, they measure in only very slightly less than before, but they look soo much better.

Weekend Boater 03-06-2017 03:21 PM

Hi everyone

We have an official 13-14 days left of this challenge. I hope it was a help in some way. I seriously cannot believe how our 11 weeks+ passed so quickly! It was so nice to meet new people and I really enjoyed our chats. Whatever happens, whether we met goal or not, I hope that we are all healthy and have made progress in our goals and endeavors , whatever those may be! We need to remember that it is about making strides forward, even if what seems to us in the minutest manner!

I thank you all so much for being here and it's not over yet! We have almost 2 weeks to go to work on our goals.

Scotsgal I am so happy to hear that your neck is much better! Oh my goodness on your weight! You go girl! :) You are doing fantastic sweetheart, keep up the great work! :) I do hope we cross paths in the future here and can share our journey and all.

As for my news ladies, I am doing very well on the activity exercise front and managed well on my social outing this past week but I can be my own worst critic for sure! I have another party coming up the weekend after next and it is for my DH! I want everything perfect for him! I have been debating whether to do SB phase one from tomorrow until then or something else, I will talk to him tonight and see what he says but he is doing sooooooo well, I want to keep his dinners and our plans coming! He has hit goal at 166 (5 8) and looks terrific! If anything, he works so hard I need to keep that man eating! lol It is nice doing it together though, omg, when they tried (and hard) to get us to bring cake home yesterday we both said NO! lol We are a stronger force together for sure! It felt good, seriously!

I am starting to babble again, lol, I will check back soon! Let's keep working towards our goals and just making progress each and every day, regardless of what that may be for each and every one of us! Hugs out to you all and hope to catch you soon!

Only a couple of weeks left? That's unbelievable! It feels like we only started yesterday.

I've been losing steadily. I pledged for 28lbs in this challenge, and as of March 1st had lost 23. I could make it!!

Thank you for setting this challenge up, and good luck, everyone! :carrot:

Scotsgal 03-07-2017 06:45 AM

Did the gym twice yesterday which was great! legs are killing because the weights racks were busy both times :( Darn Mondays. So I did a light full body workout but with focus on legs. I Hope you start a new one :D because I will start to focus on my tummy inches then  I do other weight challenges, so its nice to pick something else other than weight to work on I think :D

Weekend Aww thank you, I hope our paths cross many time again on here. I know I was MIA for a while with that darn cold :( but now I am back to motivate and be motivated . I am so glad that you and your DH make a great team, I am currently living with my mum and we work well together also. It helps when one has a stronger day than the other to take charge, especially when you are at a party, I sometimes need someone to slap the food away .

Rosinante Well done!!!! That is an awesome loss!

Rosinante 03-08-2017 07:45 AM

Thank you, Scotsgal!!

Scotsgal 03-08-2017 09:11 AM

Hit 272 on the dot today which marks 51lbs off. Want to try and stick on track for as long as possibly before my sis has the baby and selfishly throws my routine off  but seriously I cant wait to see the new baby. I have some catching up to do, so I will be working my butt off in the gym to do so. I think on Monday I may get more cortisone injections in my right arm which might throw me off doing arms next week, so I need to go hard or go home right?

Legs are dying after Monday

Weekend Boater 03-09-2017 01:01 PM

Hi girls  I hope that this new month is finding you all well and as always, a pleasure to come in and read your news!

Things have been quite busy here but I am doing well. I went to the market the other day and got all my ingredients, we are having a cold snap again and boy did I get spoiled recently with that nice weather! Oh well, thank goodness for exercise dvd's lol!

I lost 1.6 so far this month, happy with it, I think I am off that plateau but will need to be vigilant for sure!

Rosinate Wow! :) Congratulations on your loss! That is fantastic! Keep up the awesome work, I have so enjoyed watching your progress...all of you! Congratulations again! smile :carrot::cheer2::cheer2::cheer::congrat:

Scotsgal Oh my gosh you! Congratulations as well on that loss! 51 lbs. off, amazing! You are so close to another decade! :carrot::cheer2::cheer2::cheer::congrat: Please no need to apologize for being MIA as you put it, I am just happy your feeling well. Things can happen which take us away a bit whether it be we are not feeling well, getting busy, life events, etc. That is natural! I know things for me will start picking up busy crazy ( I plan a move sometime this summer) but not yet I don't think! One of the best things I have done is be back here and I hope to stay in as best as I can whatever comes my way. We will see what happens girl. You mentioned another challenge , I was thinking of it and concerned about my presence (due to what I mentioned) but think it would be cool to do a memorial day challenge and I totally agree on a non weight thing but can be weight too for those who want it. Maybe we can set one up! :) keep the ball rolling......yes let's go for it! :) Keep up the great work and please watch those muscles, arm , etc. I know what a hard worker you are! Btw, as you know, I think it is so wonderful that you have teamed up with your mom! I plan to get my mom over here one day to star the leslie samsone tape with me! ;) lol...keep shining!

lurchmomma, webwoman, grannyputtputt, and to all of you! A big hello!

Oh before I forget, I plan to WI on the 18nth! (before the 20th). I have a night out that night and a party luncheon the following day so no way do I plan to WI on the 20th! I will report my official weight loss on the 18nth for the challenge, no way do I believe I will make the 20th but I will continue to stay OP and do my best to see what follows! Onward we go! :carrot:

catch you all soon! :) have a great day and let's keep plugging away!

Weekend Boater 03-10-2017 08:04 PM

Hi ladies

I honestly can't believe that we are here already at the 10nth! My god, that went fast!

I t always does doesn't it? I remember all too often eating my away during winter and then cringing once warm weather hit! for real! Well, we still have some months and time left! We do! It is never ever too late to make our plight, to set our goals, to try, to start!

I wish you all a happy Friday and great weekend!

Weekend Boater 03-11-2017 10:55 AM

Brrrrrrrrrr, it is cold out there! lol 9 days to go! I WI this morning and I'm the same. Including today there are 4 days left to our week so we'll see what happens but I have been very active. Today I plan to take a rest day and do no cleaning and working out! Staying in and staying warm! Hope lifetime has some good movies on tonight.

To those of you interested, I started a new Memorial Day challenge last night. Jump in any time if you wish. I was just going to wait until the 20th and start from there but decided to get it up and running for others to get a jump in and coincidentally, it ends up being an approx. 11 week challenge! I am going to apply any loss I have from now until the end of our spring challenge to that one too but do whatever is easier for you ladies. We already have this on our plate right now so just jump in (for those of you who wish) when this is over or overlap them or whatever works best for each of you.

I have just enough ingredients for dinner and then have to hit the market again soon, surely before the nor'easter they are predicting on Tuesday. March can be a very sporadic month weather wise here in New England. To think I was laying in the sun with tanning oil all over me just a few short weeks ago! lol :)

Have a great Saturday night and weekend. Catch you all soon.

Eisensmith 03-13-2017 12:16 PM

Hello everybody! I am new to this site and I quickly spotted this thread. I want in too! You all are inspiring me. I'm 65 and have put on quite a bit of weight since I've had back trouble & cannot move around like I used to. I promise I will check in daily. Thank you!.................

WebWoman 03-13-2017 01:31 PM

Welcome Eisensmith, and hello everyone else. Kudos to those who continue to lose weight...I haven't given up yet, but things are moving too slowly for me! Hope to get out walking again soon, but it's still too cold. Have a great Monday!

Weekend Boater 03-13-2017 03:03 PM

Hi everyone

Eisensmith :wel3fc: Nice to have you aboard.

webwoman It can be so frustrating when things move slowly, bravo for not giving up! :carrot: I went for a few short walks, so cold here too!

We are due for a blizzard starting very early morning hours with high winds! I hope we don't lose power! They are predicting about a foot and a half of snow last I heard. The only good thing about it is that DH will be stuck home with me!

Been keeping quite busy here ladies, I have an appt. at 5 and then I wish to do nothing more than sofa surf and look for a good movie! Hope you all have a great day.

WebWoman 03-14-2017 10:26 AM

Hello all,

I woke up really early this morning, so decided to be proactive...walked on the treadmill at an incline for 30 min. and feel good about that :) I belong to a rec center that offers many classes, so I hope to have enough energy to get over there this evening for a n aerobic or Zumba class this evening. Hope that lights a fire under my lazy a** I mean 'butt' to get moving in the right direction again!

We got some snow last night and have flurries now, but nothing like what's going on in the East!

Hang in there ladies!

Weekend Boater 03-16-2017 04:35 PM

Hi everyone! :) waving!

webwoman that is awesome! Congrats on that walk!

Don't forget ladies, we still have four days left including today, it isn't over yet! Let's remember to focus on all of our progress, not just weight loss but in every way we have made changes, even starting or trying! It really means so much and seriously I need to remind myself all the time!

Wishing you all a good night and onto a new and successful day tomorrow!

Weekend Boater 03-16-2017 11:12 PM

It's not over yet! We have 3 days to go but one day at a time beginning with our new day tomorrow! It really did go by fast, didn't it. If your in the cold, stay warm ladies.......if your in the sun, send me some please!

I'm aiming to lose 28lbs during the challenge. That sounds like a lot but my situation is this:
June 2015- Easter 2016: Lost 79lbs
Easter - Christmas: Regained 52lbs (Long story I won't bore you with)

End of May 2017 will be in Germany for the opera, really want to have lost the regained 52lbs + 1 more by then, so I divided the 53 by the 21 weeks to go to that, multiplied it by the 11 weeks of the challenge = 27.76lb.

Good luck, everyone :carrot:

Last day I can weigh in this challenge, coming in at 26.5lbs off. 1.26lbs short of target - but I'll take it!! :D

Hope everyone else is happy with their losses :)

opheliaphoenix 03-18-2017 05:42 PM

Checking in again to say that I hit my third and final goal for this challenge today! :yay:

My third goal was to hit 247 to make it an even 50 lbs lost, and I weighed in at 245.6 today after getting a 2.6 lbs whoosh. Granted, I will likely bump back up a little tomorrow since it was such a big whoosh, but I'm hoping that I will stay under the 247 mark for the end of the challenge on Monday. Fingers crossed that I can maintain the drop and finish the challenge with all goals still reached. :crossed:

See you guys day after tomorrow for all of our final check-ins!

Weekend Boater 03-20-2017 11:01 AM

Hi ladies  Happy first day of spring and the culmination of our Spring Challenge. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Ophelia, and Rosinate Congratulations on the amazing losses and thank you for sharing your wonderful success here , really amazing! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer3::cheer3::cheer::cheer::con grat:

Congrats to everyone on their progress and for keeping at it.

As for me, I did a WI the other day. I reported a 17.3 loss when I started the challenge and am at 31.3 loss now so that is exactly a 14 lb. loss. during the challenge , did not meet my 20lb. goal but am so happy to be off the plateu I was in in Feb. During our challenge together I also went down a size and began exercising consistently. It's been so nice to meet you all and share in our stories and journey, thank you ladies. I wish you much continued success and I will be seeing you around in the other threads :)

Onward we go! :carrot:

opheliaphoenix 03-20-2017 04:58 PM

Weekend Boater: That is a great loss...congrats!! And well done on the NSV's, as well. I only went down one pant size so far, even losing as much as I did, so I know that going down sizes is such an exciting thing! :cheer3:

______________________________________

Well, the final day of the challenge is upon us! My original goal was to at least lose 27 lbs overall. Here is my final weigh-in:

Start Weight: 297 lbs.
Original Goal: 270 lbs.
Final Weight: 246.2 lbs.
--------------------------------------
Total Weight Lost: 50.8 lbs!!! :yay:

I bumped up a bit after my last post, but I still stayed over 50 lbs down. Yay! I lost more than I expected thanks to a large chunk of it (26 lbs) coming off in January alone due to lots of water weight and bloat being flushed out. I really enjoyed this challenge and really felt like it helped keep my eye on a bigger picture rather than just the daily weigh-ins. I hope everyone made great strides towards their goals, whether you reached them, surpassed them, or didn't quite make them this time around! If there is going to be another seasonal challenge, I'll gladly join you all again. :grouphug:
