Checking in to say that I hit goal as of this morning! :yay:
My goal was to reach 270 lbs by the end of the challenge, and my weigh-in this morning was 269.6 lbs. Not sure if it will stick by tomorrow, but I'm still counting it for today...lol. I didn't expect to hit it so fast, but January WAS my first month back, so I realize that such a large loss for one month was half water weight and that initial first couple week flush. I'm still happy about it though, because we all have to start somewhere and get rid of that first flush either way! I am going to add a little second goal to the end of the challenge that will still give me a goal to push for by Spring. My "part two" challenge will be to lose an additional 12.6 lbs, since we still have 6 weeks left, and that would put me at an even 40 lbs down. It's ambitious, but I'm hoping to at least get close. :crossed: Going to change my ticker to reflect my new goal. Congrats to everyone on all their great losses! |
Hi girls :) Just came in and read your news! How nice! Happy Sunday to you all! A new week tomorrow!
Rosinate aw good! I am so glad :) It really is nice to hear that, congrats again and keep up the wonderful work! :carrot::carrot::cheer2::congrat: :carrot: Ophelia Oh my goodness you did it! : ) Congratulations on Meeting goal!. :carrot::carrot: That is so wonderful! :carrot::carrot::cheer2::cheer2::congrat: Don't minimize your hard work and loss, your past the water thing and we all lose some fluid at first and the numbers for me drop quickest the first month but what a great incentive and as far as I am concerned, it is a weight loss and a fabulous one at that! :) Thank you as well for coming in to share with us :) Keep up the great work ladies : ) We start a new week tomorrow! Wishing you all a great night and successful and happy new start to your day tomorrow. A big hello to all of you and everyone I missed, hope you all had a nice weekend.......fresh new week tomorrow so let's keep going, keep trying, etc. All is well here, I had a busy day. Got in my exercise and plenty of activity. I had baked haddock and greek salad for dinner. Cashews (individual packets) for a snack. DH and I were not disciplined a few times with a can so I stopped getting those! lol :) The local store has these little packets that are just perfect! |
Hi ladies, waving to all. Wednesday was the first of Feb. so we have 2 more days left of our fist week, let's hang in there! We start a new week Wednesday.
I had a busy morning, I was pretty lazy by the time I got back home and did plenty of step by then but went on the WII a bit and after 15 min. it went dead on me. Needless to say, I wasn't overly disappointed! lol Tomorrow is a new day! mini meatloaf and greek salad for tonight. Going back to the market tomorrow or Wed. for the remainder of the weeks meal plans. have a great night and will catch you soon. |
Good Gloomy Tuesday!
Hello WB, Rosi, Ophelia and Andi...congrats to Ophelia and Rosi on great progress and Andi, steps are looking good! WB, I need to go to the grocery, too, but for a larger selection, I need to drive a ways. Xenia has a Kroger, and I love Trader Joe's and Dorothy Lane, but I am too lazy to drive. LOL. We had thunderstorms all night, and DH woke me up screaming in his sleep. The thunderstorms were pleasant, the screaming, not so much. I hope it dries up a little so I can hit the pavement. Work sucked everything out of me again, and last week I threw in the towel, this week I aim to fight back! Have a great day all! April |
lurchmomma hey you! :) Happy vaca! Glad that you have the time off now after working such long shifts. Sounds like quite a night with the thunderstorms and DH screaming, lol. I talk or yell in my sleep sometimes (have not in awhile though) much to DH's dismay, lol. WTG on fighting back! :carrot: I hope things dry out for you too. Today is yucky here with some snow but tomorrow it is supposed to hit 55! Just for one day but I'll take it! Good day to do some indoor stuff here today and tomorrow I am headed to the market. I totally hear you on the driving bit regarding the farther out markets. Hope you have a great day too, catch up to you soon : ).
A big hello to all of you and hope you have a great new day. |
Hello fellow Spring Chicks!
It was a crappy night here in Southern Ohio - I couldn't sleep for the thunderstorms last night, but at least I didn't have screaming :halfempty But just remember, Chicks, that Spring is just around the corner, only 6 weeks!!! Hey, we can do anything in 6 weeks, including losing those 5-10 pounds! I did have a good day walking yesterday, but for me it's all about the temperature outside. Looking forward to Friday where my daughter and I fly to Phoenix to visit her twin for a long weekend of visiting and hiking! |
Hi Webwoman :) Oh those thunderstorms you guys had must of been pretty bad. Wishing you a quiet and peaceful night tonight! WTG on the positive thoughts and indeed we have 6 weeks left and any and all progress is good and a lot can happen in that amount of time, well said! That sounds like a great weekend that you have planned this weekend Andi! :carrot: Have a great night tonight.
As for me, I did my workouts today. The snow stopped now and tomorrow it is going to be mild! I had enough activity for the day, lol, and just going do a few little things and then cook dinner and relax tonight and watch my shows. Do any of you watch "seven year switch"? There is a new episode on tonight, one of the guys is such a buffoon, I tell you! lol :) May we all sleep well and wake up to a great new start to our new week! |
I hope everyone is enjoying success or at least not getting too far behind. I started 2017 at 152.4 with a January 31 goal of 48. Not quite, but I did wake up to 148 this morning. So, 10 days past the goal, but moving in the right direction. And, considering I was on the road for work 2 weeks in January - not too shabby. Forging ahead!
Granny - how did the family dinner go? Good luck with your goal. |
Hello All!
Happy Friday to those of you who look forward to the weekend! NightOwlRN: congratulations on your progress! Slow and steady wins the race! Andi: Wow! Phoenix? FANTASTIC! Have a great time! You picked the perfect day to leave this bleak windy deep freeze far, far behind you! I hope you hike your butt off and come home fulla fresh air and sunshine! Weekend Boater: I just saw your opening post in this thread, you said "referred to FSA". I looked in the "acronyms" and couldn't find it. What is FSA? I hope you are doing well, not like you not to post daily! :) As for me, getting ready for my weekend doubles as always on any given Friday! Take care ladies! |
Hi ladies, I hope you are all having a super weekend!
Andi hope your having a wonderful weekend away. Nightowl That is wonderful! Congratulations on the loss! :carrot::congrat: and being on the road for 2 weeks too! Not too shabby at all, lol :) WTG! Enjoy the weekend lurchmomma Hi there! Thanks for asking dear lady if I am ok, you are right on! Not like me to not post! I had no t.v, phone, or internet for 2 nights! I lost it early eve on Wednesday and just got it back about an hour or so! lol Thank goodness! We had a snowstorm on Thursday and got about a foot, at least we did not lose electricity on top of it! I kept busy cleaning, I am pretty bushed right now and an evening of relaxing and watching T.V is in order! :) My nick used to be Full Steam Ahead! I had started the monthly weight loss and exercise challenges years ago (still running and am in them again, feels wonderful). The girls used to call me FSA for short and I made note of that here should any of the old crew wander in so that they would recognize me! I had to leave due to some major life events, long stories, but anyhow...lost the pass forever, created this nick, found the pass finally after going through ions of old notepads, but decided to continue with this one to avoid confusion. Happy to hear your news and thanks again  I hope your shifts go well this weekend and looking forward to catching up more soon with you all. As for me, doing well, been quite active....made fish last night and saved a piece for tonight. Keep up the wonderful work everyone and remember, at first if we don't succeed, try try again!!! :carrot: |
Looks like people are doing really well! This is a great challenge :D
I'm down 2.6lbs, taking me to 17.6lbs off, 63% of the way there, woohoo :carrot: |
Hi everyone  I hope you all having a great weekend.
Rosinate yay! :) That is wonderful! Congratulations :carrot: I am going to do another WI on the 15nth, our halfway of the month mark! I will report how it's going, things have slowed down...I will utilize these next 3 days as best as I can. I picked up some fresh haddock yesterday and having fish tonight and tomorrow! Wishing you all a super day and weekend, I will check back soon. |
Pp
Good Morning Ladies!.
Rosinate: Mercy! You are moving right along! Way to go! Whatever you are doing, keep doing it! :) Weekend Boater: LOL! Ï never would have figured FSA out. Ï thought you meant some organization or something. Ï'm in bed drinking coffee. No wonder the scale hasn't moved. Lol. Ï couldn't find my fitbit before work Sunday, didn't have time to look for it, so my step count is way down. It's beautiful out. Sunshine and cold. Ï hope to get it together and get moving. Have a great day! |
Hi ladies  Hope you all had a great Valentine's day yesterday and a great start today for our new week! 5 more weeks to go, let's hang in there.
I did not WI today, I ate a lot of the dinner last night and felt heavy and pudgy this morning! lol Last I lost was 1.3 so far this month, things have definitely slowed down and I am going to need to remain patient. If I count that loss it would be a total of 9.6 so far.....we have 5 weeks left! I need to just try and focus on each day again and try and not WI too much. Onto our new week we go ladies. Wishing you all a great day! lurchmomma your right, it does sound like some kind of organization  Good day to be bed drinking coffee! smiling........grey here, I love the sun! I think this weekend we are in for some nice milder days. Enjoy the day lurchmomma, wishing us a good one :) A big hello to all of you! |
Hello Ladies!
I've been feeling overwhelmed by so many things that need to be done that I have been doing absolutely nothing. My fitbit sent me a message from wherever I laid it down..."battery is low"...LOL...guess I should find it and charge it up.... Things aren't great here right now. Ï'm trying to figure out how to make them better. One day at a time. Hope you are all doing well... April |
April, whatever is going on I hope it all gets resolved. Hang in there, I feel any emotional stuff is always more tiring than physical, it can take a lot out of you. One day at a time as you said and I hope things get better for you in a speedy fashion
I was going to exercise this morning, I was fine and as the day progressed I just feel so tired! I think I might have a cold or something but don't have any significant symptoms. I think I am just going to rest it up with a few odds and ends here. I may start one of my new books. I hope you have a restful evening. Chat soon |
TGIF Ladies!
Sorry I've been AWOL, but traveling puts me off schedule...also, I haven't lost any more so I tend not to log in (the OPPOSITE should be true!) My trip to AZ was fabulous and I did get to hike in the mountains with my son. It was warm and got up in the 80's! Unfortunately, we ate at some great restaurants, went to brunch, etc. so I have some work to do! Congrats Rosinate on your progress! LM, hope you're feeling better about everything this morning - sounds like you have a lot on your mind. :dizzy: WB, hope you're not coming down with a virus...there's a lot going around now. :( It's beautiful outside and I will take short breaks at 10 and 2 and try to walk 20 min. each time. When I lost a lot of weight 2 years ago, I did this on a consistent basis...it came off slowly but steadily. This weekend looks to be a nice one for outdoor activities! Hang in there everyone! |
webwoman, hi! :) It is great to see you and hear your news. Oh , that vaca sure sound nice! It sounds like you had a really nice time and I am glad.
As for me, I was feeling so wiped out! I seem much better today, I went to bed at 8:30 last night! I have been resting for a few days. It seems to have done the trick, I hope so! I am gald your having nice weather this weekend! We are due for some too and once this snow melts I can get out there as well! So nice to hear from you and glad you had a nice vaca. |
Hi ladies, I just wanted to say hi and wish you all a good night and good new day tomorrow.
lurchmomma how are you? You know we are here and always love to read your posts......hang in there with us! My fitbit needs charging probably too! lol did you wear yours again? I feel so naked without mine now. I do so well some days and some days I rest or not so well, I guess like everything else, it ebbs and flows! Your really doing great with your walks and all. I had a lapse, am back........you know, it's a good way to let off steam! Looking forward to hearing from you. |
Hello...
Weekend Boater: Today is the one year anniversary of my stepson's death in an automobile accident. He was 27 and his daughter was 4 at the time. Oddly enough, my 15 1/2 year old dog had died suddenly earlier that same day and made this desolate sound, like a warning, as she was going. Hard day. Hard to believe it's been a year. Thanks for asking. |
Oh gosh, I am sorry. Sending out a big hug your way  I hope that you have loving support of those around you and that your not alone. I know some of us need to be alone when distraught. Hugs again dear lady.
|
Hello again...
Weekend Boater: Thanks again. It's a beautiful day here, sun is shining, the radio said the temperature is 20 degrees above normal. I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason, and that the Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord. It's part of the mystery of living. That being said, It's hard not to be more acutely aware of a loss on an anniversary. I took the weekend off so my husband wouldn't be grappling with it alone. James was killed late in the evening of the 18th, but it was out of state, so we weren't contacted until the wee hours of the 19th. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and that you have recouped your energy. Feeling wiped out is the worst. It's hard to find the motivation to move forward when your energy level plummets like that. Drink plenty of fluids. :) That's my answer for everything. I think we are going to have my knock off version of Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana with salad and breadsticks. Probably not the healthiest meal, but since we haven't eaten anything else today, maybe it won't have too much of a negative impact! Oh, and I did find my fitbit and charge it up. I went for a goodish walk on Thursday, but probably won't get back at it much before Monday. Maybe tomorrow, though, who knows? Andi: It's fantastic that you were able to spend time hiking with your kids! One trip to Colorado a few years ago, I hiked with my daughter and several of her friends to "Homestead Meadows", which was a ghost town high in the mountains. I think by the time you make the climb, you are at over 11,000 feet. Bout kilt me, since I'd been living in Ohio for years and all my extra hemoglobin was long gone. Just hiking around Denver, "The Mile High City" was challenging enough at somewhere over 5000 feet. I was actually pretty proud of myself that I hung with the yunguns! LOL. I think the trailhead was completely washed away by the flooding they had there five years or so ago. Such a shame, because it was a beautiful hike and the "ghost town" was haunting and thought provoking. I would have loved to have lived there. ;) Were you in altitude during you hikes? If, so, was it difficult for you? Well Ladies, have a great day! It's supposed to be colder here tomorrow. April |
Good morning everyone :wave: I hope that you are all well and had a wonderful weekend. How is everyone doing? We have 2 days left to our week. The weekend went well, just really focusing on today and tomorrow now for our final days to the week.
lurchmomma I am so glad that you are having nice weather there too and can get out for some pleasant walks. I am feeling much better, thank youuu! : ) I have been drinking plenty of water and it has helped in many ways. I may get out for a walk again today too, on Thursday we are going to be in the 60's. What a far cry from all the storms we had the past few weeks, it's nice to be able to get out and about again. yay on getting your fitbit charged, how often do you charge it, every few days? I hope your feeling better and I hope you are having a beautiful day there. Wishing you all a great day ladies, catch up soon. |
Hi,
Just rebooted Friday. I'm going for 10 total pounds by March 21. Thanks for having this challenge. |
Hi Becky  It is nice to have you aboard!
Congrats on your rebooting and yay on joining! I hope you all have a great night ladies and I look forward to seeing you soon! |
Hello All!
Becky: Yay on pushing the RESET button! The first step is the hardest. Keep us posted with your progress toward your goal...if you feel like sharing your plan, I'm always interested to hear how others are approaching the process.... :) Weekend Boater: My fitbit stays charged for around a week or so. It's a "One", which is a clip on type. It sends a message to my fitbit app on my phone and on my laptop and tells me when it needs to be charged. That's how I knew it must be in the house somewhere when I thought I'd lost it. I knew it had to be close enough to be communicating with my phone and laptop! LOL. There is an app "find my fitbit", my friend has used it a couple of times, but she said it charges you $5 (I think that's what it was) each time you use it. My fitbit was $99, so I guess it would be worth it, but I was too lazy to care at the time LOL. Some of the wrist types with heart rate monitors and text messaging, etc, are double that and more. It was beautiful here today. I bought a couple of new chicks to add to my current crew of hard working ladies. These are "barred rocks". They are sort of speckled when they are mature. I like to have a variety of happy hens. LOL. In my opinion, they are much happier without a Rooster around, although, a mean old rooster can come in handy to protect the ladies! Every rooster I've had has met an untimely demise..... Take care everyone! April |
Morning Ladies  Wishing everyone a great new day.
I had broccoli and salad with the fish last night. Will continue with plenty of water today. lurchmomma, ty for the info! : ) Congrats on your new hensssss! Interesting about the rooster! lol I was up early today, going to make another ice coffee ...I hope you have a super day and I you all do! I will catch you soon ladies. Thinking of roast chicken for dinner and maybe Thursday when it is mild we might have a cookout! Boy do I miss that! I cook a lot in winter but we cook on the grill mostly in good weather. Yum! :) |
Hello Chickadees!
I am very excited to have remembered I have "The Best Life Diet" ebook on my Nook reader. I've been searching for the hardback I have around here somewhere, then suddenly recalled I had bought the ebook! Yay! I love the concept because it focuses on whole foods and moving more and adding strength training if you aren't already doing it....you record an initial weigh in then STAY OFF the scale for 4 weeks as you begin to implement changes. I started reading it a few years back, but, I don't think I was ready to be serious then. I am now. LOL. I will weigh in tomorrow as I ate tons of sodium yesterday, and don't want an artificially inflated weight that reflects an inaccurate loss 4 weeks from now! I hope you are all having a great day! Not as sunny today, but still mild...I'll take it! Weekend Boater: Roast Chicken sounds great! I understand what you mean about cooking out...DH grilled T-bones last night...so tasty, but I should have stopped at 1/3! :) Have a great day all! April |
Hi April, that sound great! OMG my girl, lol, I cannot wait to cook out.
Just in case your interested or anyone else is this is how I do my chicken kabobs...... But the chicken breasts, skim all fat, and cube the chicken into piece. Put in a bowl with a marinade of cains fat free Italian dressing, fresh squeezed lemon, and oregano and pepper! It really is fantastic! let sit for a few hours or a day, then add sliced onion, red pepper, and orange pepper...or whatever pepper type your hear desires! Dh loves swordfish on the grill but I just don't eat it! Be well and let's keep trucking! :carrot::carrot: |
Hi!
Is it cool if I join your challenge?? I've been changing my diet since early February and have lost 10 pounds since then :D Now obviously a large part of that is water weight but hey I'll take it lol. So I think my goal is to add in 3 workouts a week, lower my carbs, and amp up the amount of protein I eat. @Weekend Boater your kabobs sound so good! |
Hi chickies  quickie post for now as I am heading off but wanted to say hi and wish you all a great day! Today is the new day to our week and we have 4 weeks to go! Wishing us all a good first and new day!
ashori Absolutely it is cool! :) Welcome aboard :welcome2: and congratulations on the 10 lbs. lost! :cheer2::carrot: I will catch you all later on, have a great day |
Greetings and Salutations and Stuff:
ashori: Hello and WELCOME!! I hope you pop in often! Good luck and congratulations on your successful start! :) Weekend Boater: I hope you had a great day! I stopped by Kroger after a meeting and picked up one of their hot and ready to go turkey breasts. Mmmmmmm good stuff! It's hard to believe how quickly Spring is coming. The weather has been unseasonably warm here and I'm worried my raspberries will bloom early and then freeze. My MIL said someone told her the fruit trees are already budding..... I hopped on the scale to do my initial weigh in as part of my Phase One of the "Best Life Diet" and it reflected a three pound gain! Now, I had to move my scale in order to weigh, as there is currently a dog crate containing two half grown chicks as well as a space heater to keep them toasty, in my bathroom (I'm sure there is a "you might be a redneck" joke in there somewhere ;) ). Soooo, I moved the crate (despite a cacophony of indignant cheeping) and kicked the heater out of the way in order to place the scale in it's customary position and climbed on. Three pounds less. Hmmmmm. So, now the question was, which is the accurate weight? I carried the scale to my kitchen, shut the blinds, threw off my robe and hopped back on the scale. Three pounds more. This house is 105 years old, and many of the floors are uneven, but the kitchen floor is only 11 years old and even. It would seem I've been weighing three pounds lighter than I actually am all this time because of scale placement. LOL. Now, three pounds doesn't sound like much, but in this case, it is the difference between 177 and 180. Sheesh. In any event, my official weigh in for the beginning of this new journey is 180. No weighing allowed for four weeks..... Sweet dreams everyone! April |
Good morning everyone
Hope you all have a good new day! lurchmomma Oh it is mild here too! I so love it! Dh is coming home early so we can go out. We have a few mild days coming up this week too! I saw my flowers budding too! I know the weather can be crazy here but hoping we don't get a freeze after, anything can happen but somehow I think we will be in a good trend...or at least I like to believe! lol :) I love wild grown raspberries, I used to have a big bush at my old house and they were the huge black ones! Regarding the scale, it can dooooo that with the floor placement and or if uneven, go figure, just another way to drive us nuts! hahaha : ) I am going on months end as in a challenge but after that I plan to stay off again as before and just keep on truckin'. Future meal plans and or any changes will be thought out by then.........in the meantime, enjoy this gorgeous day! I hope you all have a great day and I will catch you soon. |
IM STILL ALIVE!!!!
:lol::lol: Sorry about being AWOL everyone. As soon as that cold left I was off!! I have been busting my Butt in the GYm for the last 2 weeks . So I am just a teeny tiny little bit away from my 50lbs off. I am currently 273.6 and need .6 to do one so that I can get a little relief bast that weight barrier. My goal for this challenge was to trim down my legs, but while I don't think I have lost very much in inches, I can feel them a lot more solid than they were before. They feel and look much better anyway! I go to Germany back on tour in 11 weeks and I am He.ll bent on getting a good 15 -18lbs off by then. Very much achievable.... just need to stick on track and work my booty off. How is everyone? |
Yay SCOTSGAL!!! Great to see you!! Wow! You came back from death's doorstep with a vengeance! Fantastic!
Where will you be going in Germany? I went to school in Dusseldorf, Wiesbaden and Hanau. I lived in Kempen, Wachtendonk, Mainz and Klein Umstadt. I loved Germany. LOL. This was probably way before you were born, in the mid to late 1970s. I can still remember seeing "check-point charlie" in West Berlin. The wall was still there. What a long time ago! Great to see you...I enjoy your energetic posts! :) |
Hello and TGIF!
Oddly enough, I sort of look forward to Friday, just to get the weekend over with, LOL! Actually, when you are off Monday-Friday, you miss work a LITTLE bit, but you don't miss getting up before daylight..... :) I went for long walks yesterday and today. I've been doing very well with my new approach. Phase One is fairly simple. Mostly, cutting "six problem foods" and moving more. No counting calories or anything yet. The foods are: alcohol, soda pop, fried foods, white flour, trans fats and full fat dairy. Not too difficult. Drinking more water is part of it, too. We will see what the scale says four weeks from now. Should be easy to remember when to weigh as it will coincide with the arrival of spring! Chat with you later... April |
Aww thank you :D I hit my 50 yesterday and am soo proud of myself!
I have been all over Germany, Meinz is amazing! one of my favourite places. This tour will be Bremen (again), Leipzig (again), Lubeck, Lobau, and Brandenburg. We very rarely do a full trip in the East, we are very popular and have sold out shows in the West. So this will be a new one for us, we often do shows in Bon, Wuppertal area. Good luck with the workouts, I am just off to the gym just now to work off a bit of pizza I had last night lol. |
:wave:Happy weekend ladies
I hope that you are all having a great weekend. it has been super busy here but I hope to catch up with you all soon. 4 days left to the week! Scotsgal,i am soooo happy for you! :) wtg girl! I need to log, but again, hope to catch up soon! Keep up thegreat work everyone! If you losing, great! If you not, well we keep fighting! The warm weather is upon us, we must keep fighting. Talk soon and have a great night! |
