I'm in. I don't think I'm going to do daily weighing this month, it was rather stressful last month, so I'll just update whenever I happen to jump on the scale, but it'll be at least once a week.

Starting Weight: 213.2
Goal Weight: 208.2 (5lbs)

Been waiting for the new month to begin the challenge- ( I just registered)- I definitely need motivation to get back on track. Will try to post weight/goals in a few days.

stronggal 12-01-2016 09:34 AM

Finally took the courage to weigh in. 139.8. I gained 2 pounds in November. This sucks, but I am so glad I weighed in because now I can back on track again!

My goal for December is humble, I just want to get to my lowest in November, 135.2.

Inferno 12-01-2016 12:10 PM

Hi everyone! I'm currently at 228, and I would like to reach 223 by the end of the month. I'm going to try to only weigh myself once a week. If I do more than that, then I will start obsessing.

WebWoman 12-01-2016 02:50 PM

This morning I'm at 134. My goal is for 130. So I'm close to where I want to be, but this is the time of year to watch it!

Weekend Boater 12-01-2016 06:58 PM

Hi everyone! :) Count me in! I am back and happily so! Gardnerjoy, vickilou, monte, keli and to all of you, nice to see some familiar faces and looking forward to meeting you all.

I am trying a new approach this time (basically not focusing on the numbers too much and obsessing with the scale) and focusing on just being OP, eating healthy and putting my energy into each day, taking it one day at a time. I will check my weight at months' end or at the midway point.

I am setting a goal of a 5lb. loss by months end which I feel is a very reasonable goal for me at this month and given the holiday month etc.

Real happy to be here again :) Excited about starting a new month and ready to go full steam ahead! ;)

jmhender 12-01-2016 07:20 PM

Hi everyone!

I've been away from this forum for quite some time (years) but I just started nutrisystem again yesterday and wanted to join in. My goal for this month is to reach 168 lbs.

I am 5'1, 298/221/150

I would really like to get down to 130, but I'm not sure if that is realistic for myself or not. I would be happy at 150, even though I would still be considered overweight according to the bmi guidelines, but I don't think it should be the same for everyone. The guidelines should take into consideration individual body type and shape.

LadyA 12-02-2016 07:27 AM

I'm gonna shoot for another 8 lbs. I fell like thats asking a lot for the third month in a row but Im hoping I can do it!

Starting weight on December 1 - 204.6.
Goal weight on December 31 - 199 or less...ahhhh, Onderland....

I will do either daily or Monday weigh-ins.

Great to be here! I hope we all have great month! We can do this! :carrot:

Big Fat Rooster 12-04-2016 06:49 PM

I will join again. I am BFR. I have avoided this forum for a!most 2 years. I got to almost my desired weight and decided to start not counting calories anymore and start migrating towards "regular" eating, watching how much I ate kinda but not exact. When I started eating the foods I had avoided for a year after having lost almost 100 lbs, it felt soooooooooo good. I quit weighing at the same time. My scales have not been pulled out for almost two years. I think I am very close to the weight I started at again, 279, with clothes, which would be about 272 without. I am going to be brave and weigh myself before reporting back.

Gardner, glad to see you still have this challenge going. My highest respect to you. And also do you, Kelipja, I see you are still here and about the same weight as I last remember. But that is.............. OK :) Beats the **** out of gaining 100 like I am sure I did.

I will start reading this forum again and join this challenge. I will not set a goal this month other than the goal of getting started again. If I keep up like this past week I will drop a lot, but that is normal for people starting out. I expect to drop like 20 lbs during the first month, which is mostly water loss.

Thanks Gardner, Kel, and good luck you other new people starting out.

I am in! My November actually ended up being better than I had hoped. Started at 190. Ended at 178.6. My highest weight is 278 in May of 2012. I am now officially 100 pounds lower than my highest weight. Still want to lose another 50 or so, but it's fantastic to have the number ahead be only about half of the number behind. (I know that those numbers are a lot harder to change, though.)

For December, I am going to try to drop another 8 pounds. I am going on a cruise at the end of the month, and I would love to be around 170ish when I do it.

12/05/2016 - 178.6
12/13/2016 - 176.2
12/19/2016 - 173.6
12/26/2016 -

Big Fat Rooster 12-05-2016 07:35 PM

Well, I dragged out my scales, cleaned them up. Batteries still good after setting almost two years !

Stepped on them to re-calibrate, then on again to weigh. Could hardly believe my eyes, I thought it would read around 280 but instead was only 251 clothes on ! So I am almost 30 lbs better off than I thought. I still am going ahead with losing weight, I just do not like the way I feel at this weight plus the inconveniences experienced by this weight and what it is doing to my health.

So, my starting weight will be the 251 lbs. I think dropping 8 more during this month ought to be feasible so that and staying with the losing decision will be my goal.

251 start, goal 243.

I've never found a particularly easy way. So, I keep my regular posts on my computer. There are couple of advantages:
  1. I still have my post if 3FC glitches while I'm trying to post
  2. With past months, I have long-term logs of exercise & weight

Hey guys,

I was doing some research about how much protein a woman needs when trying to lose fat without losing any strength or muscle. The 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight is the known standard, but I can never reach that amount!!! I like carbs too much.

I find that when I am dieting I seem to have a harder time lifting my weights.

I found out a male body builder was able to cut to 7% body fat and not lose any muscle and strength, and in fact gained strength and muscle, at around 80% gram per pound. So for me that would be around 110 grams of protein a day.

So I put together a list of foods that I like to eat which are high in protein. Below is what I came up with. I am going to try to stick with the list, if I get tired of eating the same foods, I will make some replacements, which will probably happen often.

1) coffee w soy milk, dab of sweet creamer - 5 (150 cals)

2) 1/4 cup oatmeal w/ nuts & dried fruit - 5 (200 cals)

3) 5 egg whites, 1 egg yolk - 30 (150 cals) (sub: cold cuts, cheese)

4) 1 beef burger w/ veggies - 20 (200 cals) (sub: egg/cheese quiche w/veggies)

5) 1 greek yogurt w/ fruit - 12 (100 cals)

6) protein shake - 30 (170 cals) (sub: smoothie protein shake)

7) 2 black bean veggie burgers - 24 (220 cals) (sub: chicken w/veggies)

Total: 126 g of protein (1190 calories)

stronggal 12-08-2016 09:36 AM

Goal: 135.2

12/1: 139.8
12/2: 138.8 (did good)
12/3: 138.0 (fiddle faddle in the evening but good)
12/8: 137.6 (not so good weekend, but survived)

I can't believe I haven't had any Christmas splurges yet... But this weekend we have a church dinner, then next Friday, company lunch, then Christmas dinner with family.
So far 3 obstacles I will have to face. Haven't baked any Christmas cookies or goodies will probably do it this weekend.
Will be strong, and resist temptations to overeat. This time, will not make the same mistakes I did in November!

Let's go everyone, we can get through the Holidays, we can do this!!!
