NNS.... walking speed...it depends... when in woods when Shadow was off leash, I averaged 4.2 mph with hills. Now that she has to be on leash, slower because we stop for many sniffing sessions, like every tree we meet. But once we hit the area with no trees, we fly; that is why google says, we are running :)

Holy cow Sum! That is a VERY fast walk! I think I can only put the treadmill up to maybe 3.6MPH when I'm doing my warm-up walks, otherwise I feel like I'm flying off :) Enjoy!
5K is tomorrow. I was hoping to get a short run in tonight but not sure it will happen because I forgot about a work event. I rested yesterday, hopefully two days of rest won't be detrimental to the race tomorrow! So nervous and excited! |

Thanks all! Saturday went well. It was definitely a learning experience. It was such a big race and it was hard to know where to stand, so I got caught up in a lot of walkers for the first half mile probably. Managed to run the whole thing, SLOWLY, but I did it and had fun! I was told it was a flat course so I was mentally unprepared for the hill at the last mile LOL Oh well!
Now I'm just trying to figure out how to spend my next two weeks to speed my time up a bit. Next 5K is May 2nd. Big hike coming up this weekend, too, so I need to do some cross training this week to prep for that. Goals this month are: -Jog a 5K! Goal met 4/13! Goals this month are:
-Jog a 5K! Goal met 4/13! -500 gym/running minutes 4/5: Jog, 20/500 4/6: Jog, 55/500 4/8: Jog, 90/500 4/9: strength and cardio, 130/500 4/11: Jog, 168/500 4/13: Jog, 213/500 - ran my first 5K!!! 4/14: Strength and cardio, 248/500 - almost halfway 4/15: Jog, 293/500 4/18: 5K!, 329/500 4/20: strength and cardio, 369/500 4/21: jog, 389/500 4/22: jog, 409/500 4/28: jog, 439/500 Bonus: Did a 2-3ish mile hike on Friday and a 10 mile hike Saturday! The 10-miler including a 1 mile rock scramble. It was AWESOME. Set me back a bit with my other workouts because I was so sore. I have my second 5K race on Saturday, so took it easy today, will run a 5K tomorrow, then go easy the rest of the week. |

Looks like I'll be making my dance goal but will fall short on cross training. I took time off cross training before my feis and then didn't exercise at all while sickly. I'm going to try the rest of the week to get as close as possible to that number, then shoot for it again next month!
