January Exercise Challenge
Start the New Year right by making a fitness goal! Track your goal in January, then join us on each monthly thread through the rest of the year to keep it going.

I'm in! I am either going to do a Leslie Sansone indoor walking video, or I'm going to get outside and do a lap at the walking park, depending on the weather. (We had some nice days in December so it's possible there might be some nice ones in January too.) So my goal is walking 20 times. Thanks Joy!

I'm in! I did a December exercise challenge and found it to be very motivating. My goal is to work out 6 days a week. I do a combination of video exercise programs, walking my dog, hiking, and even back country snowmobiling (which is actually very difficult and great exercise!) and I'm thinking of doing some snow-shoeing and some cross country skiing this year also. I don't have skis yet, but am thinking of investing in a pair.

I've been super lazy since hitting my second trimester, so it's time to get ready for baby! My goal is to simply walk 3 days a week, at least 1 mile each time.

Posted my post earlier and just felt like something was missing to what I normally add to them. Couldn't put my finger on it. Came back just now to realise I hadn't set any goals. :dizzy:

I am afraid my goal may be the lowest one on here, LOL. I am going for 1000 minutes on the treadmill. I want to set something that I am pretty sure that I will reach. I have been doing well with it for about 2 months, now its time to pick up the pace a little more. Can't wait to get this goal met and set one a little higher for next month!!!
I really need to figure out how to change my tracker too. I just got a new scale today because mine was way off, like 6 pounds in 3 minutes off :tantrum::tantrum:. I am now at 210.4. This scale lets me put in my start weight (today's) set a goal weight, and then it will save my last weigh in too. I need to read the direction to figure it all out. |
Okay, I am going to join this thread along with the January weight loss. I want to work out 20 of the next 31 days. (copying after onebyone, Jacqui, and pixikat) Whether it be one of my exercise videos or some outdoor walking...I've got to get moving!!!:woops:
Joy - your exercise accomplishments are amazing!!! Susan1975 - I just finally got my new scale programmed. The directions were a pain!! Hope you find yours to be easier...and your goal is just fine. EagleRD - sounds like you have lots of interesting options. I have signed up for the tushie challenge for January which involves doing squats most days in January plus I want to do some form of exercise every day in January. I will do one of these each day: 1. Going to the gym for at least an hour doing a mix of weights and cardio 2. Doing an exercise class 3. Doing some other form of outdoor exercise for at least 45 minutes Tomorrow I think a nice bike ride or hike is in order to clear away the cobwebs!! |

I want to start my own streak, I had a few days off but I went to the gym this morning and felt much better afterwards, exercise is such a mood booster, can't believe I went without it all those years!! So, I guess I also want to do exercise every day too, aiming for 2-3 classes a week and the other days working out in the gym. |

My goal for Jan is to complete 4 weeks of Bob Greene's 12 week body makeover, I've modified it slightly for myself, when I do it, it works great, I feel strong and healthy. I want to do the whole 12 weeks, this seems like the place for me to get it done. So this means I need to do 3 sets of strength exercises, 6 sets of functional and 6 cardio, 5 regular (30 mins) and 1 double (60 mins) per week. |

Time to make exercise a higher priority. I will set daily goals for the month of January, and come here to confess if I've met them. Bottom's up! I backed off exercise due to health reasons, but this thread has spurred me to start anew. I spent some time yesterday setting up for success, and I found FitnessBlender videos. 1. Gym workout including 35 mins on elliptical and 3 sets of 12 reps on various weight machines including abs, thighs, butt, triceps, biceps and back 2. Pilates class and 20 minute cycle |
