Jrkessel, you are totally right. (that's funny cause I was just thinking to myself exactly what you wrote right before I logged on today) I got caught up in loosing 15 pounds that first month and was thinking "yeay, I can do this. I can totally loose 15 the next month too before slowing down." This week I am realizing how foolish that was :o so I am going to change the goal:

Feeling pretty down tonight. Seems like I can't break through 219-218 and get back down to 216! so tired of my weight shifting so much throughout the week. about ready to throw out my scale!

jrkessle: repeat "it's only data" about a hundred times. ;)
The common advice is to give a new plan, like your low-carb one, three weeks to see if it's going to work for you (meaning, of course, that it gets results on the scale AND doesn't drive you crazy). Also, there's wisdom out there that we should let our weight rest at plateaus for weeks or even months before pushing it down again. I only did that willingly once when I was losing, but I found it helpful when the scale didn't move to keep it in the back of my mind that I could make the choice to practice maintenance for awhile. I'm at 9 of 25 days below 75.6kgs in February. |

I know it's maybe a wee bit late to join, but I love the monthly challenges! I started February at 225 and am now at 221 - I had a lot of water weight to lose so despite that I'm still hopeful for the next few weeks, I'm going to aim for 217. So,

JazzyPeggy: I'm still over my max target today for the same reason. My overindulgence on Friday triggered more of the same yesterday. Sigh. What's your plan to get back on track? Mine is that I wrote down everything that I intend to eat today and I expect myself to stick to it!

haven't even been able to get back down to 216. i've been sick for 4 days though, and have little appetite, so maybe this is the kick in the pants my body needs to get through this plateau...

Well, I was a little bummed that the scale didn't show my efforts over the last couple days, but I'm still happy with overall the results.
SW 249 CW 240.1 GW 240 I weighed in at 238.2 on Saturday and have been COMPLETELY OP since, but TOM is approaching so I'm not too surprised it went up (Wednesdays are my official weigh in day). ANYWAYS, I'll take the 9 pounds this month!! :cp: I hope everyone else meets their goals!! |
