Valentine's Day Mini Goal Challenge
Valentine's Day is about 6 weeks away.
I'd like to drop to 138 by Feb 14, which would be a loss of about 12 lbs. (I've been at 149.6 two mornings in a row) This challenge is just about posting your Feb 14 mini goal and try to post at least once per week with an update of where you're at and how you are planning. So for me- I will pack a lunch at least 3 days per week. I will drink 32 oz of water daily. I will plan and measure meals in advance as much as possible. I will attend one exercise class this week, and then do a fitness DVD on Sat & Sun |
On today's weighing I am 12 stone 3.4 pounds which is 171.4 pounds
I also want to lose about 12 pounds in the next 6 weeks. That gives me a goal of 159 (11 stone 5) on 14th February. My current rules are drink at least 2 litres water per day limit breakfast cereal to 1 bowl per day no junk food (sugar free sweets, granulated sweetener and diet cola is allowed) no pieces of cheese no bread minimum 15,000 steps per day (in a normal week I do salsa twice a week and hardcore Zumba twice a week) |
I would like to weigh 140 or less by Valentine's Day. I'm guessing my starting weight for the challenge is somewhere around 147 but it could be slightly lower.
I'd like to eat more veggies. I'd also like to cook more often and that doesn't mean throwing on a tv dinner... Decreasing my mile time would be nice as well but it's been cold out and I tend to hibernate in the winter which is why this is gonna be a little tough. =) |
I've weighed today and am 12st 2.6 pounds which is 170.6 pounds.
I am not thrilled with my Christmas gain - not least because it has put me the wrong side of the "obesity" boundary... 169 will get me the right side of that again... I want to get back there asap... I am adding dried fruit and nuts to my forbidden food rules... I have snacked too often on them recently and if they are forbidden I will stop buying them... I assume that you love to dance lovedancelive - me too... what kind of dancing do you like best? I did the first Zumba class last night since the Saturday before Christmas... I could feel the extra weight I have gained... I have to wait until Saturday for my first salsa since before Christmas. |
Well, not really. :lol: It's sort of from a song, Dance Again, by Jennifer Lopez. She sings: "I wanna dance, and love, and dance again" but I thought it was unnecessarily repetitive. So I just decided to name myself lovedancelive. :D
I don't count the dancing I do in my bedroom when I'm listening to music. >.> |
I currently weigh 185.4, my goal is to get to at least 175 by valentines day!!! thats ten pounds. I can do it!

I have the same goal as Katie Bug! I want to be 175 by Valentine's day. It's been a few years since I was at that weight and I'm ready to be back and continue to lose. I started at 184 and now I'm at 182.5 so I'm on the right track so far.

Argh. I am not off to the best start. I blame the 6 degree Fahrenheit weather. Brrrrr. Kept snacking yesterday. Did better today but craving craving craving Chinese food. Oh well, at least I did not cave.
I ate low fat cottage cheese. Skipped workout tonight. Terribly cold and feel a cold coming on. I think I did well today, all things considered. Wish everyone well for the weekend. |

My weight loss is fairly slow lately, and while I'd like to post a really ambitious goal, I'm gonna set it for losing about 7 pounds. SW: 156.8 GW: 150 My big goal for January is more exercise! I'm a fitness instructor and time spent rehearsing will help me on multiple levels. I've been doing ok with food (after Christmas anyway) but I've been sooo sedentary. |

Things are going well so far here...
:tread: My steps were low yesterday so I got on the treadmill late at night (and just got my steps up to the 15,000 I like to see as a minimum at 10 to midnight)... that was close!!! I was really pleased that I did as I didnt gain today despite having a piece of cake yesterday when spending the day with friends... |

I know on average it's about 600-1000 depending how hard you work it... it would be nice to know the exact calorie burn, wouldn't it? |

Ive lost 2.4 lbs in the last 3 days, so my goal for Feb. 14th is 10 lbs! Seems like a realistic goal to me! Ive been doing well in terms of dieting, but I need to find the motivation to exercise. My excuse is that I've been sick for the last week. Excuses, excuses haha! I think if I start exercising (consistently) the weight will fall off. |

145.6 today! :) Definitely incentive to not blow it with bad meal choices. Meeting up with a friend for lunch.
Update: I've done relatively ok. Not sure how I've lost 4 pounds this week. I've been overeating every other day (not junk. "Good" foods, but still..) And No exercise. So basically I've been extremely lucky this week. |

I'm also in! Thing is, I already have a really agressive goal of 220 set for Valentine's Day. I am just starting out, so maybe it's still realistic? Not sure, in any case I do want to make some significant progress by then so I will set a more modest goal of ten pounds here.

I would like to get to 92 kilos (200 pounds) by Valentine's Day. That was the thinnest I got before I moved out in September (haven't been able to lose back the weight, and I put on 3 kilos since my boyfriend arrived in December, and also with the holidays). My current weight is 97.4 kilos (214 pounds).
My rules are to go back into my diet, properly (circadian rythms diet, and going back properly would involve eating the foods I have to eat at each moment of the day, and not eat forbidden ones, like carbs after midday, for example, as well as eating more fruits and veggies). Also, going back to wheat/gluten free eating (my digestive system will appreciate it). Finally, I will be going to the gym three times a week, and I hope to be able to go to the beach a bit more frequently (it's summer here, and the beach is almost round the corner). |

I would like to join this challenge also :) I did horrible over the holidays and gained 5lbs...ugh :mad: By Valentine's day I'd like to get to 175lbs. Valentine's day is a big day at my house, it is my anniversary and my youngest son's birthday :D
I put together a couple of playlist on youtube with Zumba dances! That is my workout during the week. On the weekend my husband and I do Just Dance 3 & 4 on the wii. Go on youtube and search Amberblanch. She is a Zumba instructor that post her workout videos and they are so fun!! SW: 187.6 GW: 175 1/7 ~ 187.6 |
Went to Kettlebells class today and Zumba tomorrow for the first time with a few friends looking forward to seeing what its like :)

It has caramel too. A gift from a neighbor. It is a three servings bar. I didn't open it. It's just sitting with the rest of my mail. For now. |
Hi ladies!
I've been doing well in terms of food and exercise. I need to drink more water, but that's always a problem for me. My weight is up slightly right now (I know, it hasn't even been a week yet). Last night I went to a fitness class that was described as an interval cardio class with a core segment at the end. It was insane... sprinting, burpees, push-ups, lunges, mountain climbers, etc. I'm sore already. That's probably part of the weight I've gained. Speaking of drinking water and fitness classes, if I'm gonna go to a strength class at noon, I'd better go drink some more water now. :D Keep up the good work! |
The day before Valentines day is my birthday, so I would like to join in! I'd like to lose 10lbs by then.

My goal is 235...I'm currently at 247 so hoping to lose 12 pounds. Honestly if I lost 10 I'd be thrilled, so 12 would just be icing on the cake. But I'll take 10 realistically -- so I guess my goal is technically 237, but 235 just sounds better, ha ha. Anyways, goals are to eat healthy (I'm breastfeeding so I can't do too much calorie counting), not eat after 8, walk at least an hour each day and no more blended chai! |

Sorry for not posting much this week. I've been so busy.
Did an aerobics class Monday, Tuesday is my big salsa night - I did three salsa classes and did some practice dancing too, Wednesday was hardcore Zumba and I have two salsa classes tonight. Thankfully my weight is still heading in the right direction. :) |

I have been eating very badly all of this week. The scale says I gained 8 pounds in six days. Also this morning a guy I used to like contacted me as he may be in town next month and if so he'd like to see me.
I'm not sure if I want to see him or if I will even be available (we don't know the date yet/ I could be overseas for work.) Anyway that plus this morning's weigh in has woken me up. This is the worst eating week I've had since a similar week I had in December. Really need to find other ways to cope with stress. Moving on to a new shiny week. |

Down 3 this week, with 7 left to go. :) This week was good, but next weekend will be a challenge. We'll be at a theme park, with fast food meals everywhere! I'm going to start planning now to make sure there's enough time to get all my healthy meals worked out! |
Valentine's Day is pretty much 1 month away now so I think there's still time for me to put in some work and join this challenge. :) I would like to be 164.00 lbs by Valentine's Day. Hopefully that will put me in a size 10.
I must: *eat all my planned, cooked food *get in my planned exercise I will get a starting weight soon (my ticker is not quite accurate). |
