My exercise & eating for the last week has not been the greatest. I've been super busy at work & getting home late. Then there's really not time to exercise before dinner & no way am I doing it after I've sat down & relaxed with dinner. Ugh! But this week should be back to normal. Totally forgot about this thread!!
Did my first mud run/obstacle course Saturday (the devil dash) and it kicked my butt! It hurt to sit up.. well it STILL hurts to sit up lol. Next is run for your lives (zombies chase you! yay!) and then the big kahuna aka the tough mudder. It's an extreme mud run with more difficult obstacles and it's a half marathon. Getting healthy one bloody shoulder at a time! (barbed wire scraped me.. and then I banged it trying to jump over a big wall. such fun!) |
Weighed in this morning. Up a pound. Was happy with that because TOM is hear and eating has been bad so ono one pound was good to me. On day 4 of ripped in 30. Looking forward to finishing up week one and getting a new workout with week 2.

Kay7Jay, I am doing a zombie run in Sept. How bad are the obstacles. I can't even run 5k yet but hopefully will be able to by then. I am just worried about how hard the obstacles are. I don't expect to keep my flags the whole time. It sounds like fun though.

The obstacles aren't the hard part for me, in fact they are easy when compared with the desert heat and getting through the hills out here. The obstacles are more a battle of will- I'm terrified of heights and they want me to climb HOW far into the air and then jump?!? Yikes.
I didn't bring any water (stupid, stupid) because I thought it would be too hard with the obstacles. My advice-- FIND A WAY TO BRING WATER! Seriously, the little stops they have with water are too few and far between. Another piece of advice- train on similar ground as the 5k will be. For instance, mine was in the mountains/desert we have outside of vegas. I trained on mostly flat ground- WOOPS! It's super fun to be chased by zombies though :) |
Kay7jay thanks for the info. Ours is being held on a dirtbike race track. It has lots of ups and downs but not super huge. Where I run now has hills and slopes so hopefully I will be okay.

Monday: OFF Tuesday: gym with aunt Wednesday: trail walk/run Thursday: gym with aunt Friday: OFF Saturday: 7 mile walk @ house in the mountains Sunday: Walking in to town from our house in the mountains (think switch backs, both up and down hill and about 15-20 miles!!!) needless to say I will be taking next Monday off also LOL :P |

Sometimes your body needs a few days off. I've always been a big believer in if you genuinely need rest (which I usually need during TOM due to soreness, cramps, backaches,etc.) don't push yourself too hard. Your body needs time to repair itself too :) |

Weigh In for me today & I am down a little from last week, but since last week was preTOM & up from the the previous week, that's not the best. Ah well, I'm telling myself maybe I'm still retaining a little TOM water. Yep, I'm pretty good at lying to myself. I kept telling myself I wasn't fat for years. EXERCISE GOAL: Workout 5x a week TOTAL WORKOUTS: 21/115 STARTING WEIGHT: 179.6 CURRENT WEIGHT: 177.4 GOAL WEIGHT 150 WEIGHT LOST: 2.2 7% towards goal There's 18 weeks left in this challenge & I am going to make it to my goal darn it! I'm already 7% of the way there & I'm setting my goal for next WI to be at 10% of the way. Over the weekend I went to my cabin in the mountains. I worked out each day I was there. Stayed on plan and ate within my calorie range..... I only lost a pound this week :[ that is soooo stinking frustrating for me. Everybody else pigged out and I was so good :[ blahhhh. Enough whining sometimes life isn't fair. Gotta move on and make this week better! |

I am so ashamed at my lack of workouts last week! I know I was out of town 24-28th, but that is horrible! Plus my eating was even worse. Eguest, it can be so frustrating, but sometimes it helps to look at the big picture. You've lost over 10 pounds in 5 weeks! That is awesome. Every week isn't going to be 3 pound weeks, as much as you want it to. Your body also fluctuates so keep that in mind. 2 pounds a week is huge numbers & I wish I came anywhere near averaging that! Well, my stats for this week aren't very impressive lol. But I'm pretty pleased to see I'm only up .2 from my vacation. And I'm back on plan with my food & exercise. I know, it's only been 1 day back on plan so far, but you gotta be positive right?

Oh well. Happy Friday Kim! (lol) I'm super excited by the little woosh I saw this morning on the scale. A nice 2 pound drop from yesterday. I'm sure hoping it sticks around until my Wednesday WI. Other than that the only thing new is that I started my Ripped in 30 dvd again. I'm finding week 1 much easier to do this time. I only need to modify a few of the exercises. Woohoo! My workouts from last week. Started the Ripped in 30 again & Friday my legs were killing me & could barely walk. I did it again on Saturday but didn't go quite as low on my squats. I decided to revise my goal. I haven't made a goal in time yet, so maybe I'm a little too ambitious, lol. If it looks like I'm going to go past it, great, but I'm not going to revise it again.

I have started eating right but havent figured out how to tackle my excercising... a have a 4 month old so Im on his time after 6 pm, so it will be a challenge. Welcome Lisa. It's nice to see new faces. Exercise was a bit of a challenge for me because with my work schedule I get stuck at work a little late & then need to rush home to make dinner & then who feels like exercising after dinner? So, I started getting up about half an hour earlier than usual & just doing it.
So far I've been pretty good about it & I do have to admit that it does wake me up & I feel a LOT better all day. It was pretty hard at first because I'm not a morning person & I do love my sleep, but I'm actually at the point now where I get out of bed & don't hit the snooze button once. A miracle I believe. :) So you need to find a time that works for you & commit to doing it for yourself. You're worth the time. Here's where I stand: EXERCISE GOAL: Workout 4x a week TOTAL WORKOUTS: 48/96 STARTING WEIGHT: 179.6 CURRENT WEIGHT: 174.4 GOAL WEIGHT 165 WEIGHT LOST: 5.2 36% towards goal And considering that this week's weigh in fell on day one of TOM, I'm not even going to worry about not being where I need to be to hit my goal. I'll join up with you in this challenge. I would like to lose 10 pounds by the end of September. That would put me at 172 pounds. I have been slacking off in my dieting this year. I count calories. Let's see if I can lose this weight. I plan on swimming almost everyday for exercize, as I have an old knee injury and can't walk far at all. I injured the knee a 2nd time last week, but it isn't too bad. It is healing fast. :swim: |
