Had a good weekend of staying on plan! Went on a 6 mile walk with my fiancee Sunday morning too! Down to 174.8 as of this morning from starting weight of 178.6. Glad to see downward movement even if it is just water weight!!

Down 1.7lb out of 8.

Not bad for 5 days in.

Good Luck to everyone this week!

Trying to be extra good this week because eating out Friday night.
I'm finding it hard to drink 8/8-oz glasses of water a day and I thought it
would be easy!

loose seal 12-05-2011 11:35 AM

KG ... try having your water in a 16oz. glass. Then you only need to drink 3 or 4 glasses a day, vs. 8. I know, it's the same amount of water just psychologically it might help because you're not drinking 8 glasses.

Oh and sometimes what you drink out of makes a difference. I prefer glass to plastic cups but if I drink a Dasani or Aquafina water bottle and just refill it all day? I go through much more water more quickly too. Something about the way it goes down . . . .lol I probably sound like a nut! Ah well, if it works that's all that counts!

suttercm 12-05-2011 12:41 PM

I am shooting for 4 lbs this month. Starting at 159, working towards 155 by Dec 31.

I've been filling the 2 quart jug in the morning and putting lemons or limes in it.
I absolutely can't drink cold water OR plain water....just blah!:barf: Can't do it!
I do use a big glass! It definately seems like less than the 8 small ones!

Scale said 145 this a.m....I'm sure that's mostly water and the bigger battle is ahead!!

loose seal 12-06-2011 07:55 AM

Hey, you can try flavored club soda too. No cals but lots of fizz and taste.

Finally dropping back down but hoping for another pound this week before Sunday weigh in.

miniDoodles 12-06-2011 03:29 PM

Okay, today I was put to a stress test & I did Not binge @ the drive-thru window & get comfort food (fries-milk shake) :yay: I got a bowl of chili @ Wendy's instead; after I rear-ended a car with my Honda & neither of us have bumper damage, not a scratch, I Luv the plastic bumper on my 2010 CRV :) In the past I would have stress eaten, but now I am trying to reach my goal by Valentine's Day 2012. 1/2 pd @ a time 1 day @ a time during this holiday season.
We can each meet our goals next year :broc::cb::carrot::dancer: I see a winner weekly on Thursdays.
Every week that I go to my TOPS Club, I see a member who lost 79# in 2 yrs w/o surgery, or drugs. She did it she says w/o exercising, just walking 2 miles daily & counting only calories, 1200/1400 daily & avoided eating all things white (sugar, potatos, flour, etc). She wears a size small now, a size 6-8. But I feel like a lazy, stupid person in her presence because of what she overcame & pds she lost. Where the h*ll did my will-power go :(
I am struggling to get back to 141#, & it took me almost a year to reach 150# from 174# because I yo-yo from careless eating.
OMG I'm sooo sorry for venting today. But if that 54 yr old girl can lose 79# in 2 yr, we can reach our goals too
2012 look-out :bunny2: we're here to reach our Goals

ps: (there r Honda car factories in the US employing US workers, I am Not a traitor as my ex-hubby calls me for buying my Honda & he works for GM)

Merry Christmas :tree: :snow4: Dee

Thinsole 12-06-2011 09:21 PM

LOL! Minidoodles I'm with you on the non-traitor for buying a Honda thing. My Grandpa worked for Ford, so did my Grandma, my Dad worked 30 years for GM, etc etc. We are a Big three factory family and my Dad is huge on buying USA made. It so funny to go to a store with him. I've been looking for a new car and we've done research about it. It's amazing how little of some Big three cars are made in the US. Sad.

As for weight loss. I've seen people on here lose a lot of weight much quicker than me, and I've seen people struggle. A lot of it has to do with diet, exercise, will power, and support, but some of it has to do with your body type. I remind myself every day, (when I feel like I'm not doing as good as person A, or must be lazy because person B just shot right passed me) that I am still losing, and still working.

Be proud of what you've lost. Some people will NEVER lose 20 pounds, even in a year. And remember that while you may show only 20 pounds on the scale, your body has probably lost more inches, and gotten a heck of a lot healthier.

Keep it up!

amandamn1 12-06-2011 10:08 PM

Ohhh...I love challenges! :D

My goal is to be down to 175 for New Years!

3 lbs. for the week

chickadee32 12-06-2011 11:26 PM

Sorry I've not been around the past few days ladies; I had a procedure on Sunday, and am still struggling a bit to recover. The scale was down a bit this morning though, so that was good news. :)

There are some really nice losses already this month, and we're only at Dec 6!! What a motivated group this is. :) Congratulations to Driven, NoMoreKnit, finallyready, flourless, KG, Thinsole and Leslie on your progress! :carrot:

Welcome, amandamn1! I added you below. :)

suttercm, welcome back, and I added you below as well!

MiniDoodles, I totally agree with Thinsole. Losing weight and keeping it off, in ANY amount, is really a huge achievement. Be proud of what you've done, as it's much more than most people will ever be able to do! Your continued efforts are doing SUCH good things for your body and health, no matter how long it takes to get to your "ideal" weight.

I'm so thrilled with how everyone is doing so far, and the level of participation. This is going to be a GREAT month and we're all going to be feeling proud on Jan 1. :D
