Just a short amount of time in which to stay incredibly focused. After you've achieved this, feel free to reward yourself with some sort of non-food reward. I'm going to get that fancy shellac stuff for your nails!!

Totally on board with this, gona start mine from yesterday though and have 8 days on plan!

November 8-14

Mark off your days on plan. Tell us your obstacles, and how you overcame them to stay FOCUSED!

Nov 8-
I must stay on plan because my best friend has adopted my way of eating. I can't be a hypocrite, or worse, let her see that there's not been much of a change in my physical appearance. Gotta practice what I preach... today!

Ugh! I was tempted by Halloween candy and went crazy :(

Nov 9-

Today I'll stay on plan! I'm motivated by the 1.2 pounds I've lost, and I want to stay on plan to lose the maximum amount of weight these next 6 days. I want to feel good about myself, and I really need that as today is the first day of TOM.

I did not stay on plan. Well, sort of. On the first day of TOM I allow myself a "crave day." I eat all of the things I crave during this time in one day, so that for the rest of the days it's easier for me to resist. So, that's what I did, and I'm satisfied. The good thing is that I had not desire to go as wild as I normally would have. :cp:

Nov 10-

My willpower muscles are kicking butt this morning!
On my way to work I developed a strong craving for doughnuts! I don't know why, as I'm usually not a lover of doughnuts. As I waited in line for my morning coffee the temptation grew really strong, but I resisted and succeeded. :kickbutt: I told myself that if I only purchased my usual coffee, then I can get a manicure this weekend.
An hour or so later, a coworker brought in homemade treats. I took a small cupcake but I did not eat it. :kickbutt: Instead, after I finished drinking my coffee, I licked the chocolate frosting and sprinkles and promptly tossed the rest away.
Today was the closest to staying on plan I've been this week! It is tough to stay on plan during TOM and the holidays, but I am determined to be on plan tomorrow.

Nov 11- :cb::dance: ON PLAN :carrot::dancer:

Nov 12- ON PLAN
Although I was on plan for two days, the scale says that I've gained two pounds since November 8th. Oh well. My goal is to develop eating and lifestyle habits that I can maintain for a lifetime, so that I will naturally maintain a lower weight and never have to work this hard to lose weight again!

Nov 13-
I forgot what happened this day, but I remember eating more than I should have.

Nov 14-
I traveled for 9.5 hours for a business meeting today. I have been trained to eat when I travel (thanks Mom!). I am going to challenge myself NOT to eat when traveling home.

aka8941 11-08-2011 12:36 PM

I wanna put yesterday in too

Nov 7-stayed exactly within point (calorie) range. Ran 2.5 miles. On Point and On PlaN!!! I was sooooo close to buying a sandwich last night, even after I knew I had eaten enough for the day. I stood there, and thought about it, and was able to walk away!! It felt too good.

aka8941 11-08-2011 11:17 PM

Nov 7-OP!!
Nov 8-OP!

ran another 2.5 miles tonight. I did eat a little over on my cals, but not too bad. I'm still counting this as on plan because I was mindful and accounted for every bit! six days to go!

Blondie160 11-09-2011 04:44 AM

Nov 7- 1600 calories, Went to the gym for the first time in weeks!
Nov 8- 1600 calories, Intervals on the elliptical while my dinner cooked. Made pancakes from the Dukan recipe for my breakfasts this week.

Do you guys mind if I join this thread? I am "on plan" calorie-wise, but not making the food choices I want to. I would LOVE this to stay accountable, starting now!

aka8941 11-09-2011 09:32 AM

Indiblue-please do join us! The more of us, the more accountability! I want to see the food choices you are making, so go ahead and tell us what you've eaten.

Wed nov 9-I will stay on plan today by running, staying within my point limit, and checking in on 3fc often.

indiblue 11-09-2011 10:54 AM

Nov 9 (I'm in Asia so it's bedtime here :)):
Started out great. No breakfast (I practice IF). Lunch: 160 g pureed cauliflower made with 1/2 c 2% milk, 350 g cabbage sauteed in 1 tsp oil with seasoning, 5 dried figs. Then I made peanut butter granola bars for my fiance and my neighbor brought over homemade foccaccia. I snacked a lot on both, very very not on plan. At least I stopped myself before I went over calories...

Tomorrow: Eat on-plan. (I'm generally following Eat to Live.)

You may not have stayed on plan, but you did track in great detail. Thanks for being accountable and sharing your missteps with us, that's what helps us continue on and learn. :carrot:

Stay within your calories tomorrow as well, but maybe choose better foods and get some exercise in. Are you on any fitness program at the moment? Maybe get your fiance involved?!

Let us know tomorrow how you did, and spare no detail.

kellie105 11-09-2011 08:02 PM

This is great! I just really started my plan on 11/8 and I have heard it takes 12 days to form a new habit so im going to give it 12 days!!
11/8- starvation...cravings...not good times but i did make calorie goal
11/9 - not as bad but there are four cupcakes on my counter that are for the girls and they keep looking at me... calorie goal met..cupcake survives for one more day.

indiblue 11-10-2011 12:15 AM

Thanks aka for the support! I definitely have an exercise plan-running (10K), yoga (hard + restorative), lifting, etc- I love working out so that's the easy part for me :D. I have also had no problem staying to my 1200 calories a day and tracking meticulously.

My problem is not necessarily eating too much or slacking off with exercise- I'm a looong plateau (4 months I think? Even though that includes a 6-week maintenance break). I haven't lost in a long time and am really having to get strict with my diet. I'm trying a restrictive way of eating right now though (Eat to Live) and I have been inconsistent about sticking to it. I love E2L and feel great on it- I just need to make the commitment to stay on plan! Seven days at a time!

So thanks for starting this thread- it's a great accountability tool! You guys are great.

Nov 12-

I actually ate most of my cals (points plus) before 1:00 PM, and just had a couple portions of edamame for dinner. I've found that keeping food intake to a minimum at night helps me maximize weight loss. It's actually true! You really shouldn't eat before bed! I'd always heard it from my dad growing up but now I know it's true.

Nov 12
I will stay on plan today by sticking to my points, resting my sore body (from running) and giving it minimal fuel, and by sleeping great tonight.

aka8941 11-10-2011 01:41 AM

Blondie and FassGal, come back and tell us if you were on plan!

Blondie160 11-10-2011 04:50 AM

Hey indiblue! I practice IF too. When I needed to lower my blood pressure during a very stressful time in my life a few years back, I followed the plan in Eat to Live. My blood pressure lowered from 140/90 to 110/78 in a few weeks' time during those high-stress months, and I have never, ever had high blood pressure since (and I still have a stressful job... even more stressful than the one I had a few years ago).

hey everyone! I overate at lunch, CRAP. That means 0 point foods for dinner *fruits and vegetables* and a nice long run. Just had to check in and tell you guys that I may have messed up earlier this afternoon, but there's still time to turn it around!!

much love

indiblue 11-10-2011 10:26 PM

FassGirl YAY I love IF! I feel so much better when I IF.

aka way to regain control of a day that could have gone poorly. Well done :)

Yesterday (it's already Friday here- sorry if that's confusing!) was PERFECTLY ON PLAN! Wahoo! I post my food in another accountability thread so I won't repost it here, but it was really perfect.

Started today with a 6 mile run and feel great. Ready for Day Two of being perfectly on plan.

aka8941 11-10-2011 10:44 PM

hey indiblue! thanks for checking in. you sound super on top of things, so way to go! That takes incredible self control!

My sister and I went to the gym tonight at our college, and she's like no joke a fitness model, so she's always tough to work out with. Luckily, she slowed down for me and ran my 2.8 mile thing with me, and then we did a little free weights.
It's been a pretty great day. I'm calling today ON PLAN!

FassGal 11-11-2011 04:37 AM

:bravo: aka and indiblue for staying on plan!

Blondie160 11-11-2011 04:54 AM

Nov 10-ON PLAN but the scale is not reflecting that. Probably because I had a sodium laden LARGE dill pickle last night before bed. It was only 1 point, but those things are bad for you. So the scale reflects it, with a 3 pound spike this morning. Tsk tsk*

I loved your cupcake story FassGal. You were so aware of your triggers around you. That's amazing!

Blondie-How did your after work drinks go? I love those...What's your go-to drink that's low in cals?

Indiblue-I hope all is going well, and you're keeping up your strict diet. A 6 mile run is a pretty d*mn good way to start the day!

FassGal 11-12-2011 03:15 PM

Thanks aka! The scale will reflect your good habits. It has happened to me where at first I gain weight, stick to my new habits, and step on a scale a few days later to see that I've lost 5 pounds. Please don't be discouraged and fall off track.

By the way, do you plan to start a new "on track" thread November 15?

FassGal 11-13-2011 07:49 AM

I hope everyone's not taking the weekend off!

So I went off plan on Saturday, but I'm going to keep on with this till I can make 7 days!!

aka I love a good vodka and diet coke (I think that is a weird drink for you in the US but it's very standard in the UK). We have both fallen off the wagon but at least we have both climbed straight back on!

indiblue 11-14-2011 06:09 AM

Hey guys!

I've sort of started to shift over maintenance and am realizing that staying "on plan" is no longer my main challenge- it's being comfortable and happy with where I am. I'm not going to posting here but I wanted to say this is a GREAT thread and you guys are doing wonderfully. I hate starting to post on a challenge thread and stopping so I wanted to give an explanation for doing so. :)

Keep up the awesome work!!

aka8941 11-14-2011 09:27 PM

Aww damn Indiblue, I'm sorry you won't be posting with us anymore, but I'm happy that you're focusing on being happy with yourself, that's a beautiful thing!

I'm going to continue the thread, more will come on the next one!

aka 25 pounds is amazing, well done! I'm jealous! So I made it 7 days but not in a row lol, are you going to keep the thread going?

FassGal 11-15-2011 07:53 AM

Yay aka! :congrat:

As for your question, I notice that the challenge threads get the most participation. Maybe you can turn this into a challenge of some sort. You could give out rewards/recognition for the person with the most days on plan in a week, and perhaps other categories.

FassGal 11-15-2011 08:00 AM

Aka, where are you going to continue the ON PLAN thread?
I would personally appreciate if it were continued in a different thread, with the days starting today onward, or if not, then perhaps the name of this thread can be changed?
